I never really liked Rage Against The Machine.

That said I love Matrix and Matrix Reloaded.

Revolutions though. Ugh.

Movie theaters are open here in SC. I'm going on saturday to watch The Shining. I can't wait. I expect a mostly empty theater to watch a great movie in with my wife and buddies.

I recently rewatched The Matrix in my local cinema. Due to the pandemic, my local cinema is showing older films as there is a lack of new films.

Don't get my wrong I do love the first Matrix film. I saw it when it originally came out in 1999, and still, after all these years I have the same issue with the film: I hate that Neo flies at the end. I hated that closing shot back in 1999 and I still hate it now.



I remember coming out of the cinema back in 1999 and all my friends saying that the final shot was so cool and I felt that it was silly and would create issues if there was a sequel. I said at the time that it was the perfect get out of jail free card for the writers.

So what are your thoughts on the final shot from The Matrix?

What? Pretty sure that the matrix ended in the phonebooth and fade to black as he was walking out of it? Neo flying? Are you crazy? Next up you will say the matrix is a triology and like a 4th indiana jones movie!

They're open here in Holland. Limited to 30 people per showing. I'm going to The Shining extended edition next week. Matrix I also want to rewatch, last time I went was 1999. Since then I've seen it perhaps twice.

Same. Never understood how they were viewed as revolutionaries while selling their shitty music on corporate rock radio, the guitar player does some cool shit now and then but they were always cringe. *Bleep* you I won't do what you tell me! Punk rock felt a lot more "against the machine" at the time than a white dude from Long Beach California with dreadlocks screaming at me on corporate radio.

Matrix should have been a one off, and the ending fits.He mastered the matrix and can fly now.Matrix sequels suffered from the star wars problem, they answered questions no one was asking, and made the audience suspend their beliefs too much.

Yeah, I can't disagree too much. I found enjoyment in the sequels, but everything really wrapped up at the end of the first with all resolutions being more or less implied. (I've rewatched the original many times - actually just last night, but the sequels rarely get extra spins.)
