Nintendo is telling him they need another Smash for the new console. No time for other interest.

But it was great while it lasted.

His Iwata one was interesting, I wouldn't have thought that Sakurai would drive Iwata to the airport, like I get they are friends but you'd think he'd have a chauffeur for that sort of thing not just buming a lift off a mate.

Too bad, was a fun series. A lot of interesting info.

Don’t forget to Super Smash that Like button bro’s.

Of course it’s the next Smash game. Nintendo needs a new one for each system. And a 3-4 dev cycle, putting it out sometime by holiday 2026 at the latest would certainly line up with development beginning April 2022. Which means the design doc was made beginning end of 2021, which is when the last of the DLC finished, right?

Sakurai said it cost him $630,000 to make the videos for his channel which weren't monetized.

Hopefully it's Kid Icarus Uprising remake

Yeah, Sakurai and Monolith Soft are at the front of the game industries. One of Monolith Soft mission is to foster younger staff.

It’s disappointing that so many flock to this video just for some kind of subtle morsel of Nintendo news to try and wring out.

There isn’t any. He didn’t make the channel or his video series to break news, just as he said at the outset a few years ago.

And it really shouldn’t be surprising that he is making his next game. That’s literally been the case after every single game he’s ever finished. And he’s not retired yet 🤷‍♂️.

His videos were 10/10

Lots of knowledge in those videos, I learned a thing or ten, and I’m not even in game development. Many of his philosophies or teachings can be applied in many other context.

Videos are short and straightforward. And more than a few times, I had to pause and let some fact sink in.

What a legend. My respect for him skyrocketed because of this series.

Budget cut after Iwata's pay cut.

Great ending video. The whole series was amazing.

This man is a machine, the schedule he described was kind of insane.
"Do it while you can" is a good mentality to have, and he seems to take that quite seriously. That's why he's one of the GOAT.
