Well technically the 300+ million views it has and the 5+ million subscribers he has on his channel with only that one 19 seconds videos would disagree lol

I still remember telling my brother about this new site "YouTube." We used it almost exclusively for watching Family Guy clips for about six months after it launched.
Welcome to All About Nature. On my channel I try to bring nature-related content that's both educational and entertaining. My goal is promote conservation and a passion for nature by telling the stories of the species that have called and that still call our planet "home."
I have faint memories of YouTube around '06 but it's kinda one of those things that just feels like it always existed. I can't quite pinpoint when it appeared in my memory.
Honestly felt like the whole thing was on point function-wise in the late 2010s and they just needed to tidy the visual style a bit. But it all went off the deep end around 2020.
All that said, 99% of my YouTubing since 2018 is on the LG TV app. I especially avoid the Android app.
Sorry but my online nostalgia memories are taken up by modem beeps and screeches while my one noody Elle Macpherson JPG loaded horizontal pixel line by line by line by line by line for 5mins. You lot with your 19 second videos don't know what you missed out on.
It's heavily censored, now.
They censor fucking fights, full on blur. Blood, even offensive terms are blurred if in textural form.
Good on this guy, though. He got in when it was cool. Now, it's just an adsense farm of a shitshow mess that toes the CCP line and removes monetary compensation from people that don't align with it's perception of the world.

I wish I had been sober back then so I could've gotten in on the ground floor. I would love to do a channel that does deep dives and retrospectives on games, but the platform is saturated with them now.
Can we post our own videos? My oldest youtube video is technically from 18 years ago.... and it is this one...
A video of Duke Nukem 3D for the Sega Saturn.
My most successful video is a music-video-clip sync up to Weird Al Yankoviks Polka Yer Eyes Out.
I made this video out of clips that I found off of various P2P networks, and torrent sites and edited all on a single core AMD Athlon XP 1800+ , a Geforce 4MX, and 1GB RAM; using Windows Movie Maker on Windows XP. It shows, look at how bad the video quality is! But I was proud of my edit.
This video was copyright striked by non-other than... you guess it, Billy Idol's people. I also made a 'HQ' remake in 2014, using better video assets.
I actually lost this account in 2016, due to a harddrive crash that made me lose my passwords. I could not recover it, because the email address that was linked to said account was no longer active, it was linked to to my old ISP. My old ISP killed my email address when I stopped paying for their service. But I managed to recover this account in 2024...with no help from Youtubes customer service at all.
I was using an alt youtube account during all that time I lost access to my original one. Which I use on a daily basis.
Stage6 was looking like a lethal competitor... and Stage6 had HD video at a time when Youtube was stuck at 320p. Also, early Youtube relied heavily on flash... remember that? I do.
Google Video was another early competitor... but Google Video ended after well... Google purchased Youtube.
