Ok guys, so I have the teams made, as well as the first round matchups. I had to cut a couple of people, and we ended up with 6 teams of 4. I tried to keep the people that have been the most active in the thread and showed the most interest, there will be more tournaments to be a part of.

So, instead of a league, I'm going with a straight tourney, double elimination, only problem is with six teams one team will get a bye round, which I'll randomly draw out when the time comes. I'm still nailing out what game types will be played, I think one slayer, one objective, and the 3rd will be a slayer game, but on a map with a different set of weapons. This way all of you fire bomb loving fools can have your wish. It will still be a regular slayer match, but I hope that the weapon set will keep it interesting. I'll edit a map and one person from each team can d/l it if their team ends up havin to use it. Any objections to this lemme know, I'm just trying to keep this more fun oriented than SRS BIZNEZZ. And now on to the teams...

This actually worked out well, we had 6 guys at 30 or below and the rest being mid or high 40s, so no team is stacked or handicapped in any way.

The first round matchups are as follows:

-Team 4 (Blueblur) VS. Team 6 (Tango)
-Team 1 (Ramirez) VS. Team 5 (Domino)
-Team 3 (Blood) VS. Team 2 (Trasher)

If anyone is good with graphics and such, feel free to make a bracket, I am teh sucks with that stuff. Now, I encourage you all to PM each other and get gamertags and such if you don't have them already. Keep this thread clean of GT talk. I'll give you tomorrow to get all of that taken care of, then tomorrow night I'll post the game type/maps you will be playing your 3 games on. I'm going to do that randomly as well unless there are objections, after all of that is done you're free to play each other whenever both teams can get on and get it done. You don't have to do all 3 games in one night, but it would be most convenient for most I'm sure.

Other than that, keep in mind this is for fun, no victory laps people! Let's try and keep this as civil as possible. :lol Any suggestions or comments, lemme know through PM, keep this thread clean for game discussion and meet up times, etc.

GAME TYPES AND MAPS:

1st game-1 Flag on High Ground.

2nd game-KOTH on Narrows.

3rd game if necessary, Team Slayer on Guardian.

All three game types/maps are in my fileshare, so one of the teams needs to d/l them before the match. Now, you all can play whenever since everything is settled. I would like some feedback on the Guardian before we start, it might have a little too diverse weapon set on it for some, just lemme know.

Nah, for round 2 one team will just get a bye in the winners and losers bracket, it sucks, but really the only thing I can come up with, as 4v4v4 would just be a little too hectic and dumb probably.

I've never played with Bladed, if anyone sees any real faults with the teams let me know. Also, Tango, I made you a team leader, so the the parenthesis stuff just means team leader, it's all 4v4.

So basically, you think that all 3 match ups should be composed of the same 3 game modes/maps? I'm down with that, anyone got a problem with the goofy team slayer for the 3rd game?

I was thinking something similar too. Like having two objective games, and then having a slayer game to settle it if necessary.

I was just about to say hell no to KoTH, but you read my mind and removed grenade starts. Remove radar for KoTH, too.

All in all, sounds good. There should be at least one slayer match, and Guardian is perfect for it.

We'll leave it on for flag and slayer this time around, see how it goes. I uploaded the 1flag, koth, and guardian map into my fileshare, grab it if you can. The Guardian variant is something I slapped together in about 10 minutes the other night, it's meant to be crazy, and if you'd rather just have a default map then say so, figured I'd spice it up a bit.

There is no set schedule, it's whenever the two teams can agree on a time to meet, this will be the biggest challenge if this works.

Yes that's fine, the KOTH/1Flag are the default maps, just with the scores and radar adjusted accordingly for KOTH.

Default with a custom map, the layout is exactly the same, there's just a lot of goodies laying around that normally aren't in any gametype. :lol

Im not gonna spoil the surprise for anyone but suffice it to say, GAF Guardian is sweet! Can i make a suggestion though? Grenade respawns are pretty quick, maybe give em 30 seconds more.

needs less ammo, it might dominate as it stands. Apart from that, i think its made of win

Edit: Custom power up spawns pretty quickly too but thats not too much of a problem as the advantage isnt too big

When I read KOTH on Narrows I cringed, but I suppose the removal of nades and the motion sensor helps. Hopefully the spawns won't be as terrible as they are in Lone Wolves's Crazy King on Narrows set up.

So it is my understanding that the matches will be played in order (One Flag, KOTH and if necessary Slayer) for each of the 3 Round 1 match-ups, correct? Because that's the best way to do it, IMO.

Will the following rounds consist of the same 3 gametypes/maps though?

Domino Theory's GT is Oml3t and Voltron 64's GT is Voltron64 (no space between the 'n' and the 6).

Maybe have a panel that decides, what was the most awesome kill, most awesome stick, most awesome double/triple/killtacular.. ect.

I find it quite telling how the old Halo Group(players), is no where in that player list; well except Rameriz and Trasher.
But then again, its time for our new players to shine and have fun.

Suggestions
-Fuel Rod Cannon should start with 5 charges. Its basically a Rocket Launcher and Halo 2-style Brute Shot combined.
-Custom Power-up could be edited. As it stands it lasts for 10 seconds and boosts your speed.
-At Sniper Tower, I suggest moving the Carbine from the dark corner and place it on the ground where a Mauler spawns on default Guardian.
-The map may benefit from a few more weapon spawns. The following locations are good choices: The spot where the SMG spawns on default Guardian, the spot where the Plasma Pistol spawns on default Guardian and in the room below the gold gravity lift. Any weapons would be fine. (I saw throw in a Sentinel Beam somewhere... I'm not kidding.)

Yeah this. Also Flame grenades spawn should be on 1 minute. Those things are powerful

Ok, I just edited all of the firebombs to one min. respawn, put the other grenades on 30 seconds, only one clip in the FRC, and added some more weapons. (including a sentinel beam) :lol

I edited the custom powerup to 200% speed and immunity to headshots for 15 seconds, mass destruction can be caused with the flamethrower, hah. So d/l that one and see if anything else needs to be changed. Think you'll have to d/l the slayer variant in order for the custom powerup to work properly, it's on the fileshare as well, it's default slayer, just with the power up.

I took off all of the frag grenade spawns, leaving us with only what we spawn with, and with the long respawn timers on the rest of the nades on the map, we'll have to be a little more conservative with nades hopefully.

I agree with this. It'll also make the losing teams feel a bit better because they'll still be recognized if they did something crazy/awesome.

Each team captain could probably talk to one another after the match and decide that stuff. Or, right after the three matches both teams could just decide it in the post game lobby together.

So you know, Ramirez took all the people that wanted to play and sorted them by rank so that each team had an equal amount of ranks. Then he randomly put them together so that it would be fair.
