I don't think any title in contention will run away with the votes so anything could win. Balatro would be cool because it's a great little game that would lead to really big meltdowns.

I fucking loved Rebirth, I voted it for GOTY. I like the FF series, but I'm not a super fan or anything.

This one is decided by the panel right? If so, I say it's either gonna be Shadow of the Erdtree or Astro Bot. I personally don't think DLC should be in the running, no matter how good it is, but that's still what I think will win.

Shame though, I think there were an absolute assload of fantastic games that aren't AAA-tier released this year that I would put ahead of most of these choices.

Changing the criteria to allow DLC to be counted is a tell - Shadow of the Erdtree will get it (even though it doesn't deserve it and it should be in a separate Best DLC/Expansion category)

I'd take black myth: wukong and elden ring dlc off the list and replace them with silent hill 2 and stellar blade personally if i had my way with the game of the year nominations. As it stands right now though i feel like the three games that deserve GOTY the most based off of the nominations are astro bot, final fantasy 7 rebirth, and metaphor: reFantazio. My pick out of those three would be metaphor personally with ff7 rebirth being a close second.

Metaphor is for young people.

Young people play only crap these days. Me (42) and my ４１ year old friend love Metaphor. I don’t really think the combat system is suited for younger people, they hate turn based.

But even if I loved Metaphor, I have to give it to Rebirth, followed by Astro Bot. Actually 3 of tge only 4 games I played this year. The other would be Silent Hill 2 Remake. With 2 children and your limited times, you get only to play the really great games.
