Its not that Zelda is the last game, its the biggest game for the console this entire generation. It will sell better than Smash Bros, mark my words. It's far from a last ditch effort

I want to play Stubbs the Zombie.

Though that's behind Twilight Princess, KH2, FFXII, Path of Radiance, Phantasy Star Universe, Bone, and Sonic Rush on my most wanted list (which is still pretty good).

The last game I really wanted for Xbox was Jade Empire and it was kinda disappointing. I think for the remainder of the gen I'm mostly picking up multiconsole ports like Bully and Path of Neo if they turn out to be good for the system. We'll see how Pirates! and Half-Life 2 do. First review of Pirates wasn't too encouraging.

TBH, theres still quite a lot of 3rd party games coming out for xbox. Half Life 2, Burnout, Far Cry, King Kong, Winning Eleven, Clancy games, Stubbs, Tomb Raider etc

So what? There's still plenty of 3rd party stuff headed to GameCube too (Killer 7, King Kong, Clancey games, EA Sports, Gun, THAW, Sonic Gems, X-Men Legends 2, NFS HP, Harvest Moon, POP3, Spartan, One Piece, etc) in addition to notable 1st party support (Zelda, Fire Emblem, Kirby, Mario Sports/Party/DDR, etc).

umm xbox is getting a lot of 3rd party that gamecube isn't getting this year..

burnout, far cry instics(xbox exclusive by the way), half life 2(exclusive), battlefield modern combat, full spectrum warrior 2, destroy all humans, black, pirates! (exclusive), moto gp 3 (exclusive), dark watch , jaws, call of cthulhu, suffering 2, kingdom under fire 2(exclusive), ninja gaiden black (exclusive), serious sam 2(exclusive), brothers in arms 2(exclusive, I think), la rush, america's army, the warriors, bully, stubbs the zombie(exclusive), star wars battle front 2, gauntlet seven sorrows, castlevania, painkiller(exclusive) + other games i guess.

that said, ps2 has the best line up this holiday. xbox line up is quite good for a console that's having its sucessor released this year.

Sure, but GameCube's also getting some JP/Asian games Xbox isn't from Bandai, Namco, Sega, Natsume, O~2 and Capcom. Both consoles have plenty of games still coming though (well over 100 SKUs each really) and most major brands are hitting both anyway (Madden, NFS, Tony Hawk, Splinter Cell, etc). Neither really compares to PS2 and both GameCube and Xbox are clearly on the way out... but it's not at all an anemic exit for either, this isn't like poor Dreamcast in 2001.

edit-Oh, and KUF2 and HL2 are 1st party games. Using the same standard, I could call Mario Baseball, Mario Party 7, Mario Strikers, Mario DDR, Chibi Robo, Odama, Battallion Wars, Geist and others "3rd party" GameCube exclusives.
