My fiancé was telling me last night there's this one, Sand Job, and one last one coming after? Sad to see the boys wrapping it up, but it was bound to happen eventually. I grew up watching Top Gear UK. I'm in the US so I didn't have access to BBC so I had to torrent them. Good times man.

Sad to hear it's coming to an end. I'm a hardcore top gear fan. (I have all 3 big books of top gear!)

I mean, I worked for them for years.

Saw it today. Didn't have a lot of funny jokes.
But the imagery was stunning. The desert, the rivers, the sea, the towns, everything was stunningly colorful and beautiful.

Got some sweet chilli Doritos to watch this tonight after my long run. It's going to be GLORIOUS (in Jeremy's voice)!

Are these Grand Tour specials filled with scripted events?

This was the problem with later seasons of Top Gear, it was so obvious that lots of these 'Accidents' and 'Incidences' were obviously scripted.

Man it's kinda sad it's almost done, but they've been at it for so long already so it was bound to happen.
I have fond memories of me and my brother watching reruns of Top Gear.
These three are legends and I'm sad to see them go honestly, but they deserve it.

there are some scripted jokes, but most seems to be genuine commentary.

I think I have a free prime trial again so maybe I will finally get around to catching up on the past few episodes.

Those montages of the three modifying their cars lied to me!

Yes, because it's a TV show.
Here are a few more "lies" they did, just for curiosity sake.

During Top Gear, those 3 never bought a car. It was always the producers that searched the ads, picked 3 cars for each. Then each presenter would choose one, and a producer would go and get the car.
Most often than not, the presenters would only see their car, on the day of the shooting.
This is why we got the problem with the license plates in Argentina. In that case, it was Clackson that demanded a Porsche 948, for the reasons he told during that special.
The problem is that it was a producer that saw the ad, went to that persons house to buy it. He took a Porsche mechanic to check the car was good. They paid for it and immediately shipped it to Argentina.
No one even glanced at the number plate, until they saw the car in Argentina.

Another "lie" was the bamboo bridge over the river cock. The reality is that it was a steel bridge, covered with bamboo sticks. This was confirmed by May a few years ago to some fans on the street.

Another "lie" is that a good amount of B-footage is not done by any the 3 presenters. Usually it's done by the a professional driver. Usually the Ben Collins.

I think the Argentinians took a leap on the plate stuff thinking the British were taunting them. It was really a dumb manufactured outrage by argentine agitators.

It is not a surprise that a TV show acts like a TV show.

It was. Just consider that they went across half of Argentina with no incidents.
