The greatest theme tunes for a series

You've all picked excellent theme songs, but let's be real...

I remember running to the TV to make sure I didn't miss this intro as a kid.

Basically the 80's had great themes for plenty of it's shows. Some samples

These days it's bland taste and nobody even trying. Most things are done in a mechanical way without the touch of talent.

The MacGyver theme was glorious. It's even better than I remembered. And if that wasn't enough the way the intro was cut was just perfect with the right amount of cheese and charm from Richard Dean Anderson. Also something else I realized years ago was the theme sounds like a track from Super Turrican.

Never watched Dallas, but I absolutely remember the theme music.

Ulyssess31;

Monkey Magic;

Gummi Bears;

All bring me back to Saturday mornings as a kid. Way too many but first 3 to come to mind.

(Side note on the Gummi Bears, two different exs, Italian and Polish) would bust out singing this in their respective home language.

Both times I nearly dropped my beer, was hilarious but incredibly cute and endearing. They never knew the EWOKS one, can't say I blame them but I liked it as a kid.

BBC sports shows used to have the best intro music - just classic rock riffs in the days before music licensing was such big business.

Arguably the best theme tune ever to a series all time, plus helped in meeting my wife to be tbf also one of the greatest groups of all time

For recent I really like Loki of MCU. The clocks and strikes.
Top for all new shows

It's so discordant but stays cohesive with no resolution in its changes.
I liked the implications.
Season 2 in 2023.

For short themes The Good Place is one of the greatest. It just sums up that ennui.

Lost - Life and Death

Perfectly encompassing the emotional struggle, the reluctance, the wonder, the unwillingness to let go and, ultimatelly the acceptance of each and every character.

A thing of beauty.
