I've only watched a little bit of AEW, but it has the spirit of WCW. I hope they succeed and are able to compete with WWE.

His booking was off way before taking time off. The whole drinking thing was done poorly. He comes off as a sad drunk most of the time. Also who ever does the title cards makes him look bad. I know it’s an inside joke, but it looks weird to a casual fan, like myself.
This is something called character growth, you may not be used to it but things are laid out for a reason

I like AEW but I'm still getting weird vibes from them. They have people's win record under their names for crying out loud, like these matches aren't booked.
Because they want it to she it matters when you have wrestlers working their way up and or down the pedestal for a title match, they are taking bits from njpw to make it more of an authentic experience where every win or loss feels like it matters though it's booked

Watched this PPV today because of the amazing word of mouth. Dropped WWE many years ago. Holy shit was it good. I'm jumping on that AEW train baby.

P.S. She has an identical name to a pornstar, so googling can be confusing. xD

Man AEW is so awesome, I only started watching this year. Regret not watching since 2019.All Out was amazing especially that steel cage match. Best time to be wrestling fan for sure. Too much good wrestling. GCW is on fire too.

not tag worthy
I have been on the AEW train from the beginning and have been enjoying the journey.
Same.
they keep on bringing it up a notch.

the EVP’s have years of experience between them plus a boss who is a wrestling super nerd. They know their onions so I expect the train to go from full steam to maglev real soon.

a few more signings this year.
I hope Bea and Sadie come back.

plus some forbidden door action.
Ibushi will make a comeback and save Kenny. Golden lovers reform!!!

I'm just excited they are working with impact, njpw. Watching minoru suzuki is awesome.
It's gonna be great when the COVID restrictions aren't in place and people from Japan can come and go more easily. It'll make it much easier for New Japan's bigger stars (Okada, Tanahashi, Naito, Shingo, Ibushi, Hiromu etc.) to come over since they can then go back to working in New Japan without having to quarantine. Talent being able to freely move around between the US, Japan, Mexico and Europe should make things even more fun

Foley telling WWE that they got a problem now

WWE is basically fucked until that mad old fool retires or dies. Effective booking is a young man's game, and he's been going downhill as a creative force for well over a decade now. The sad thing is everyone knows it, but he's too egotistical to relinquish the power, and that'll probably do a lot more damage.

You joke, but Stone Cold could do a good Mr. McMahon evil boss character in AEW.

Kind of feels like it's been done before.

And I like Austin, but the time has come and gone.

But AEW definitely needs to elevate the type of persona that is going to make the world care again.

WWE story/kayfave building back in the day was ELITE because they had one guy who would write it all out AND literally story board it out as to where it was going and whose going to face who next but give validation for said reasoning. This is why punk always stated and hated he was fed to part timers and when he asked what was next everyone shrugged and had no idea. Woth the story telling today they have like 10 different writers and you work with a different one every week apparently so theres no consistency even.

With AEW apart from the writers it feels and seems that most wrestlers are in charge of their own creative, does it still have to get approved? Obviously, but having a wrestler having a character and persona dictate what they would say and or even do is huge for growth but also consistency.

look at Moxley/dean ambrose in wwe where he wore a gas mask and told the crowd the reason why was because they smelt. Compared that to a jon moxley who is more unhinged, flipping wrestlers off, thinking he is the biggest badass to ONLY go "fuck no" during an All Out ppv because god damn Minoru Suzuki showed up.

can it for hard to some wrestlers to create their own dialogue and stories? Absolutely but the talent they have brought in such as: Sting, Christian, CM punk, Taz etc can help with those building blocks. Talent flows down not up, and its the older guys who will help the young guys where you can create and not stifle new talent.

this is what is exciting about AEW right now
