The Humble Monthly Bundle

Question about this that probably been answered million times. Can i subscribe for 1 month only ? Or they charge yearly ?

you can subscribe just for a month.

The bundle is cheap enough, so I'm wondering who'd really be enticed by these savings - $12 savings for a whole year?

11*12= $132
Each month offerss around 6 games, so 6*12=72 games
132/72= $2ish per game u get via himblebundle
One the one hand it is an interesting deal

I might go for a full year. Being a bundleaholic, I know for an almost certainty I'll go for the whole year anyway and the currency exchange rate is favourable at the moment, so I might as well save some money. If COD multiplayer didn't put me off, nothing will.

Is this from selling keys or something? Counting discounts outside of the purchasing doesn't really count. I mean unless HMB has regional pricing then they need to hurry their butts and give me my regional pricing.

(I sell most of my keys)

Also the year sub gets you 13 months, not 12. 132/13=10.15+some tax or w/e. (round up yo)

Immediately above your post is people discussing the different subscription options.

How are people feeling about this as a whole? Anyone still subscribed who was at the beginning?

As mentioned above, it might be interesting for foreign exchange issues. I need to check the euro-dollar before making a move.

I've been subscribed since day 1 but I'm starting to wonder why. Last month the games were so uninteresting I didn't even bother redeeming the keys.

Are you sure? Have you tested it? Because that would be better.

To me, that image says 12 months times $12 is $144, so if they give a discount for a full year of $11/month= $132, then you save $12 ie. One month "free".

In my account it says 132$ with a free month. I would save 8 whatever plus the fee for international for each month. Save a bit more in the long run for me.

So you pay full-price for 11 months ($132) and you get 12 months instead. Or from another point of view, you get a $1 discount for each month. 11*12=12*11.

Yeah I am an idiot. I assumed yearly was 12 months with 1 extra making it 13 months.

Not 11 months and get one free to equal 12 lol.

Thanks for the heads up, switched to the year plan.

I love indie games, I get a lot of duplicates but also get a lot of pleasant surprises. it's always a fun treat to look for at the beginning of the month.

I've been subscribed for the entire time, and I love it. Every single month has been worth it, at least one game I've had on my active radar and at least one more that I've been interested in, plus lots of fun surprises

And can I just add to this discussion (I am also a monthly subscriber), keep in mind some of, not a whole lot but some of, the money goes to a good cause.
So sure, some months might not be as good as others, but overall HB is a pretty damn good deal and some of the money goes to charity.
For myself at least, that is enough to keep my subscription active.

Hadn't really thought about it like this to be honest. I'll keep my sub going a little longer I suppose..

hmmm I might do the year sub as so far i have been able to get games I want and break even other times without to much trouble.

that being said the unlock this month is very underwhelming and the savings between a year and 6 months isn't much so I might just do the 6 months instead in case the bundle goes downhill.

I think i am going to subscriber for the month, even thought BLOPS 3 is the early unlock. About to finish the Witcher 3 expansions and nothing much to play till Deus EX MD.

worst case you can usually get like $2 per game in the buy sell trade thread and make most if not all of your money back so far .

If you pay for the yearly sub, is it possible to get a refund on the unused portion?

Humble do refunds on a case by case basis. They have refunded a few Humble Monthly subscribers before although that was largely because they originally claimed the service only had games that hadn't been in bundles before (or something like that, not 100% sure), some users called them out on that being untrue and got refunds as the result of it. So if you find a good reason as to why you think Humble aren't upholding their end of the bargain you might be able to get a refund, but if you just don't like the games coming out or just want the money back I think it would be unlikely for you to be able to get a refund.

This is along the lines of what I was expecting.

Cynically, it appears Humble may finally be moving on to phase two of the Monthly where the quality of releases month-to-month will dip, with a few exceptions here and there. If they can get enough people to sign up for the yearly tier, the importance of impressing each month is diminished.

I'd say that is very possible if lots of people go for the yearly.

I went for the 6 months. I'll see how it goes, and if I'm not happy with it I'll stop and go back to doing it on a monthly basis.

Lineup for this month:
* COD BLOPS 3 Starter Pack
* The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
* The Jackbox Party Pack 2
* Poi
* Planet on the Eyes
* Starward Rogue
* Exclusive: RAM: Random Access Murder

Unlock for next month: SOMA

I'll buy a 12 dollar soma

The van helsing games are isometric action RPGs aren't they?

I didn't get this month's bundle because I didn't care about blops 3

Glad I unsubbed for this month. This is easily the worst monthly offering so far IMO.

Kind of regret buying SOMA during the last steam sale though since I have yet to get to it.
