The Humble Monthly Bundle

I subscribed for the 12 month deal when the bundle started and I think out of every month, i've only been unhappy with one month. I didn't have DS2, and have been wanting HLD and GC3(although buying the DLC piece meal will shit the bed later down the road) so it was a great month for me.

WOW if you unsubscribe from the bundle at anytime you lose the 10% discount for the store and access to the trove, that is pure horse manure. These should stay active until the next bundle.

So if I waited 28 days to unsubscribe I wouldn't be punished like this, bad form Humble.

I bought Hyper Light Drifter before, but haven't played it so I'm a bit disappointed in that one, but quality game afaik.

Never bit on Pillars before now, so next month will be worth it for that. NBA tho....UGH.

Kinda disappointing bundle, but I loved the last Sherlock Holmes, and Hyper Light Drifter looks okay.

Already own PoE and not into basketball, so not in a rush to resubscribe.

I want PoE but I would rather have the season pass than nba 2k17, jalp. The last time I played a basketball game was on Dreamcast and I am not sure how good is this one.

It isn't. People buy 2k because they've got no other choice really.

Yeah, on the one hand, getting Dark Souls 2, Armello and Hyper Light Drifter for $12 is decent value. On the other hand, IMO this is the lowest quality Monthly since the August bundle last year. Doesn't help that I already have Pillars of Eternity, and I'm not interested in NBA 2k. Might unsubscribe for the month.

Count me as another one who doesn't understand the harshness of the complaints. Looks pretty good to me outside of having more strategy games that I have no idea how I would invest time into.

Nice. I'll do this when I get home and I'm in my pc.

For a new pc gamer I think humble monthly is perfect for me because it's cheap and it gives me stuff to play.
Heck, I've become a person that primarily expands their library almost exclusively through bundles. I'm surprised how much I've grown to like the Monthly variant, especially so when I started to push myself to pawn off games I don't want.

Ugh, disappointing then. I am not that much into sport games, but basketball is the one that I like the most, but now with this… I need to give it more thought. Thank you.

Worst bundle for me so far. Didn't like Hyper Light, don't play 4x games, not a single interest in basketball and never heard of the others.

Might try Sherlock though.

I'm very happy with Sherlock Holmes Devil's Daughter, Kero Blaster, Hper Light Drifter, and the Humble original game 2000:1: A Space Felony, personally. Though admit it's not as good to me personally as some of the last few months, but certainly not bad.

I'm happy with this bundle. I already had Dark Souls II but Kero Blaster and Hyper Light Drifter were both in my Steam wishlist.

for those who haven't heard of a few of these.
Kero Blaster - The new game from the creator of cave story.
Armello - a digital board game (that isn't based off a real board game)

both are quite well received. if you liked cave story give kero a look. if you like board games give armello a look.

Seems my not pulling the trigger on Hyper Light Drifter and Armello during the sale paid off. I'm really pleased with this month's games.

to be fair even if you had, if you hadn't played them you could have easily gotten them refunded.

Glad I paused this month. I'm no good at Souls-like games and I already own Armello and HLD.

We'll skip next month too. Was a Kickstarter backer for PoE and not a fan of sports games.

That's another amazing month. I had the launch version of DS2 so I rolled the dice and it paid off. Already had (and love) Hyper Light Drifter, but all of the others are new for me.

I might have to pause this next month though. Already have POE and 2K can play a game of hide and go fuck yourself.

Played about an hour of Hyper Light Drifter. I guess I'm one of the minority to not know of this game beforehand and thought it would be a racing game based on the title. Happy to see it's not and a pretty nice little game. Combat isn't the easiest, for me at least, and I've died well more than I'd like to admit. I think there's a pretty nice title here if I can get around the slightly higher difficulty than I prefer.

NBA 2K17 key is region locked without Humble telling anything about it. Not even on its store page. Shame on them
Also, I got two keys for it for some reason. Anyone else?

I really like Armello, the dev team is cool and they release new updates all the time. There's really nothing quite like it anywhere.

Already have that and Hyperlight Drifter. Had been thinking of getting GalCiv III the other day, though I'm not sure if I have time to play it along with Stellaris and the 50 other space 4x I have.

NBA 2K line is damn good though. I mainly play SP and the game does have an excellent career mode. Your stats are distributed across "classes" and like an Action RPG. The game itself I also quite good with a lot of depth.

I haven't played much MP except for local MP with friends. Overall though this is my favorite Sports series. Even though 2K got a bit too greedy with Microtransactions they aren't really required/needed unless you want to become OP immediately.

Don't worry, it's meant to be tough and you're not the only one who dies a lot. It's also a game that rewards practice. Also, the difficulty smooths out as you gain more weapons.

Galactic Civs 3 and Sherlock make this a great bundle. Might unsuscribe for next month, I already have PoE and NBA has interest level -1000 for me.

Me too. Got it on PS4 when it released and it was really fun, pretyy much SP only though.

Are they similar games? I'm really loving playing through D:OS with a friend of mine. I'll pick up a couple of copies for me and her if it has the same fun co-op play.

pillers is single player only.

now if you want to play the game I was getting the PoE confused with Path of Exile (which is what PoE stands for as it came first :P) that one has some fun co op play and is a solid free to play title (it's very diablo like)

Hyper Light Drifter was probably my GOTY 2016. Absolutely incredible game. I'll have to gift the code to a friend, but for anyone who hasn't played it yet, your in for a treat!

Not too happy about the inclusion of SimplePlanes if that's previously been sold for $0.50 elsewhere, but I'm otherwise happy with the bundle this month.
The increasing problem that I have with the monthly bundle is that they're doing a good job of getting a wide selection of games now - which means that there's a good chance of already owning one or more of the games in each bundle now.
It's starting to feel like a waste of money to buy indie games outside of a Humble Bundle now.

I just picked up Hollow Knight in the sale, and I'm certain that's going to end up in a monthly or indie bundle at some point.
In that case, it's a game that I do want to play now though, and it's not that expensive.

PoE > D:OS
Just sayin'.
Well if anybody has a key for it, I'd be happy to trade Pillars of Eternity for Divinity: Original Sin.

They are similar in the sense they are both semi-open world top down RPGs but they are very different mechanically and tone/story wise. Pillars is a bit more linear and has (mediocre) real time combat while Divinity lets you tackle the story more freely and has the best turn based combat system out there.

it was in a single groupees bundle that was limited to 3k keys two years ago. also that bundle by tracking was a $1.50 bundle

beyond that the game was never in another bundle, and has never been cheaper than $6.

yes it has technically been bundled before, but it is far from the highlight game, and it wasn't a major bundle.

Idiotic question time - I've never traded or sold any games I've got through bundles before, only gave duplicates to friends / family - but with Monthly and quite a few Humble Bundles I'm accumulating more and more games I already own. For example GalCiv 3 in this bundle.

If selling, I presume it's best to generate a gift link and then send this, rather than generate and send the actual key myself?

Yes, but if you do end up doing that, make sure to write down which ones you have sold/given away. Humble tends to not save whether you made a gift link or redeemed a key.
