I mean that really wasnt the case
cdec's drafting got somewhat figured out in the finals but they put up a hell of a fight and were competitive
dc really didn't have a chance against wings

I got a couple of Beetlejaws from my boxes and thought I'd be able to make some good money on immortal International couriers.
They sold for about $1.5 each.
Who do you pick/ban when your opponent can play every hero?

yeah that's the ridiculous part, being so dominant without any real pattern to what they play is unheard of
Has the TI team change game begun yet?

Surprised they didn't bust out morphling support again.man, really makes you appreciate the depth of their hero pool![]()
Would have been nice to know there were after party invitesTI6 was great until I became deathly ill. Couldn't eat dinners, and missed the after party/meet up.
Anyone get more than 15 predictions? So close to those 20 levels
0.04 pts away from top 100 in fantasy
I had the final being EG vs Wings. Obviously EG wasn't in it and DC was, but then I have Wings winning the tournnament, and my compendium says that's wrong?!

was it the chicken tenders again?
i caved and bought a hot dog the last day
nah i think it ended up being just the convention flu.
In terms of matches, best TI. Too much Mirana though.
More people watching than shitposting it seems.

As well a Wings played at times, they got really lucky with whom they faced in the Main Event. My reasoning for that is that Wings is hilariously bad at playing against Chen, and he was never brought out against them after the Group Stage--because every team they played didn't have an Artstyle level Chen player. On top of that, they also hate playing against Axe--he was their first ban target in about half their games. If EG or DC had a decent Chen player (PPD is servicable, but I don't think he noticed Wings 72% loss rate against Chen, and wanted to try and take it late where EG's team work tends to pay off), or managed to take a chance with the Axe against their generally agressive playstyle, I think things would have gone very differently
What you're saying is kick ppd bring in akke??
EDIT: HOLY SHIT. Jimmy proved Day 1 that I'm right. He gave Wings Drow 2 games in a row and TNC beat them both times. It's just like TI5 but with Drow instead of Lesh. Wings has to either ban it and give up something every team can play (Mirana, Io, ET) and they are weak against, or take it--but they can't play it well enough.

GabeN sends his regards.
Game 1: TNC takes Wisp, and Wings immediately takes the Drow/Dazzle combo. TNC responds with Axe, who is a natural counter to Shallow Grave, and a good initiator. Wings bans out Dark Seer, to prevent a wombo combo, and TNC--seeing the Dazzle--ban out Huskar. From this point on Wings strat is falling apart. They respond by banning Winter Wyvern (not entirely sure what the reasoning is here, TNC already had their defensive support), and TNC bans out Storm Spirit, seeing that they have no pairing for the Drow yet and need a mid. This puts Wings between a rock and a hard place. Wings decides to take Windrunner for the offlane to pair with the Drow, and TNC responds with a KotL pick. This both denies them the ability to switch to something like a Timbersaw, while also giving TNC a support that can depush. I think this is really where Wings was officially drafting to counter TNC rather than to play what they wanted, because they picked Nightstalker next, which really only makes sense as a pick to counter KotL. TNC responds with PL, and at this point they've won the draft. Wings has picked a push heavy lineup full of heroes that are great at single target, and TNC has a PL--a hero who can counter their push, and also fight later on with minimal issues. The last round is just a bit painful, but Wings ban out Sven thinking it's a mid PL (popular in the SEA region), and TNC bans Slardar thinking it's Mid WR and roaming Nightstalker. TNC then takes Naga, and Wings has no late game, so they take the only thing that fits the Drow Strat--Medusa. Into 2-3 Medusa counters.
Game 2: TNC take Wisp again, and Wings takes Drow/VS--that right there reveals they want to push, and they are going to need some defensive supports. So Jimmy takes Slardar as a good initiator. Wings reads this and bans Lifestealer/Dark Seer--one for if it's Safe Lane Slardar, one for if it's Offlane Slardar. Jimmy responds with Dazzle/Oracle bans second phase. From this point on, Wings is forced into a corner. They have to pick tanky heroes because the two best defensive supports--2 heroes they also draft very often--are gone. So they pick DK for mid since he has nice sustain, but the problem already is Slardar is naturally a bit of a counter to DK. TNC responds with a Jugg pick, since they have Slardar initiation and Wisp to save/initiate with, and he synergizes with Amp Damage. Wings sees 2 melee Physical damage heroes, and they decide to take the Axe. Synergizes with their lineup, gives them good initiation, and he's pretty tanky. TNC picks Timbersaw, and wins the draft. Timbersaw melts Axe and DK, because he does a ton of magic and pure damage. Wings are on the back foot. Wings bans KotL because they won't get to pick it to counter Timbersaw, and TNC bans Ogre to ensure there's no really strong in lane supports. Then they pick Skywrath--another hero that terrorizes almost all of their cores--and Wings is stuck last picking a Silencer to try and counter the Timbersaw
Next LAN in 33 days, contracts are ending between now and the end of the month.
I don't expect OG to stay together. Alliance probably, VP seems to have a stack prepared.
Expect some garbage dota from now until the Winter Major
Jimmy straight up outdrafted Wings. People can claim it's that Wings played a little bad, but part of that was because TNC's drafts against them were so perfect. Yea, he gave up the Drow, but he proved that if you cripple the rest of the team, a Drow doesn't matter that much. Here's my take on the drafts from TNC vs. Wings;
Wait they really did this? What is the point of using it? What a dumb thing to do.
Thinking of going to Seattle for next year's TI, so I have a question for people who have gone this year or years before: Other than flights/transportation, what did people end up spending when everything was said and done?
The more expensive nightly rate one cost LESS in total than the cheaper nightly rate one with fees. I don't really understand how it happened, but the difference was about $500, which was pretty significant.
Hidden costs? Slightly "scammy" approach to have people book thinking it is cheaper.
