The left's war on the FBI

Terrible writer -- gasp --

I'd have to disagree and say she's not a very good writer - not because of her content and opinion, however.
These same hysterical groups who lambaste the FBI for its "aggressive" behavior now will be the first to roast the bureau for intelligence-gathering laxity if something catastrophic happens before the November elections.
First, the use of quotations to indicate irony does not lend itself well to support a statement. Sarcasm in a written article is not a good idea as it confuses the argument, even by a little. She does it multiple times, however.
And her argument in this statement (groups will roast the FBI for laxity) is not supported by any facts or even opinions, she spends the article supporting the first part of the statement (groups are lambasting the FBI for aggressive behavior).

She would be more convincing to me if she didn't use words like "meanies" and "whiners", and the use of "give me a break" and "-- gasp--" didn't help either.

Regardless of the content, it reads like something you'd read in a high school newspaper.

The "Black Bloc" organization is instructing protestors to trick bomb-sniffing dogs on New Jersey Transit lines and New York City subways in an effort to create "maximum disruption" and drain police resources.

What the hell? Way to go... *rolleyes*

This is true.

She's like a poor man's Ann Coulter, without the over-the-top comedy stylings. Also, that article was chock-full of straw men.

I think anything by the acclaimed author of "In Defense of Internment: The Case for Racial Profiling in World War II and the War on Terror" is comedy gold, but I'm a jerk.

Is that a real book? You have got to be kidding.

EDIT: It is real.

Oops, you found it.

"Oops" is right--I saw the cover of that book, and now I can't unsee it.

I mean, seriously, has political discourse in this country just gone completely into the shitter?

That's an ad hominem attack! We should at least consider what she has to say! Let's not be limited by basic "ethics" or "decency..."

(Yes, I'm still pissed about the last Malkin thread.)

EDIT: Can't forget this:

Triumph, you'll have to forgive him. Remember, conservatives aren't exactly educated bastions of literacy.

Oh, c'mon. I'm no defender of conservatives or anything but a statement like this would've got The Promised One's liberal insult counter ticked down by one.

I didn't say they were stupid. I just suggested that they dislike reading and exploring different perspectives, preferring insular dogma and reactionary rhetoric to experience and nuance. Conservatism, by its basic definition, suggests a preference for a narrow and clearly-defined comfort zone.

Heh, funny shit.

Don't get me wrong or anything...in general, I despise conservatives. I would just appreciate it if the mods on this forum weren't so blatantly biased.

That can be said for just about any group that chooses a side in anything,

What the? It's just her writing style, if you don't like it, fine, but I fail to see how a variance in style affects how convincing she is or how valid her point is.
