Yeah, I just have the game case and artbook. Guess I'll have to get in touch with XSEED.
Seems like you're not the only one. Noticed someone else on Twitter claiming they didn't get the pin either.

So my PS3 died (YLOD) even before I could play this game. My question is can I play CS I and II through PS TV without owning a Vita? I have PS4.

So I'll need a disc copy of the game? PSTV doesn't support digital? Oh and Vita memory disc?
You could just contact Sony and just tell them you bought the wrong version on accident and want to switch to the Vita version.
You can play CS on PS TV.
Fortunately I didn't buy/ordered the PS3 version of the game yet. I'm just thinking about the cheapest solution to play this and the sequel.

Do they have unique dialogue during those phases? If so it's not a problem for meIn case anyone wants to do all subquests in the game, it's easier to follow the guide/roadmap. There are some very, very hidden subquests that you'll never be aware of unless you talk to every NPC every single day/evening phase.

So the only reason I haven't played Trails games is because I really dislike grids in battle systems. Should I still give this a shot? I've been wanting to play Trails in the Sky for a long time, so I sort of feel silly skipping to this, but it seems to be less grid heavy after a quick look.

It's a Trails game so of course they do :3

Pretty much, but I believe I read that they were more unique compared to Trails in the Sky.
It also may vary on what characters you have in your party on that moment. What immediately comes to mind is a quest in Cold Steel II which holds back information on a plot point the series hasn't touched upon since The 3rd but is only wholly revealed if you happen to have two particular members, one possessing the link to The 3rd and one possessing new information, in your party. On the one hand, hidden stuff like this makes it required to have a guide on your lap. On the other, however, recommending friends to "try x to get y" is nostalgic in its own way, I think.Do they have unique dialogue during those phases? If so it's not a problem for me
Found the LE at a local Gamestop, went for PS3. Tried to cancel my preorder on Amazon immediately but they gave me the "it's already prepared to be shipped, it's out of our hands now" spiel so I guess I've got another PS3 LE coming in about a week. :x
I don't need two so I guess I'll just send it back to them for a refund when it arrives.
...
God damn that splash screen looks good on my big ol' Sharp flat panel.
I'm surprised no one is really talking about the game, but only stories on purchasing the game.
Is no one actually playing it but collecting it instead?

People are too busy playing is more likely .
People are doing Christmas-y stuff with their family, or playing Xenoblade or Yakuza 5. Or all of the above. This is genuinely the worst time they could've picked to release the game.
I still really want to play it as soon as I can, though. It's been way too long since I've played a good JRPG.
NeoGAF is the place where people collect videogames, rather than play them.
It's a massive game and people are only getting started, only a few from the press were able to play it since last week.
Beat prologue.
Battles are suuuuuuuuuuuuuper snappy.
Sara's cool.
All the boys wear cool slacks.
OK, kids, we can exhibit personalities now. By this point in FC, Estelle had accused her dad of infidelity and beat up a wounded kid for being loud.
Philistines.
And in a position of authority, too! Erebonia's more fucked than I realized.
Cant talk about what instantly gets backlogged. =(
I havnt even started SC yet due to a few other games holding me up.
AC syndicate
Xeno X
Both obstacles need to be cleared

I would be daunted too if I had to beat Xeno X before this. That being said, I loathe Xenoblade combat so I avoided Xeno X as well, so I went straight from beating Trails SC to beating Yakuza 5 to playing Cold Steel.
Nope, that's deliberate. Even with that being the case, Rean has WAY more spoken lines than anyone else in the cast, so I presume it was a decision on Falcom's end to keep voice costs down (this was their first in-house game with anywhere NEAR this amount of voice acting). Couldn't say for sure, though, but either way the exact same number of lines are voiced in the English version are voiced as in the Japanese one, and there are indeed a bunch of scenes where Rean is the only one silent (and a few where only one or two characters are voiced and the rest are silent.) It's kinda weird, but it is what it is.Are there audio issues with the game? Right now Rean's dialogue is not voiced while everyone else's seemingly is. This is right after the prologue.
I personally only talk about games a lot when I'm pretty far in. I'm still in Chapter 2, and things are still revealing themselves.
Not much to say except it's an improvement on Trails combat in quite a few ways, and there are so many little quality of life improvements that I am really happy with it so far. The story is interesting and fun so far and I still love talking to random NPCs just like I always do in these games. I actually found an NPC on campus with a very distinctive accent, and when I traveled to the countryside a little later on in the game and talked to some of the people inside a random house there, I immediately recognized the accent - and once I talked to the mom of the house, it turns out that it really was the household of that same girl.

Wow, great impression. I'm still on the first day after the first dungeon. So not too far in. I'm finding it way nicer to play than Trails of the Sky (I found it too slow and too wordy at the beginning couple/few hours) so I'll try to stick with it. I'm surprised about the details you mentioned. That's crazy.
That being said, I do agree with other people in that the 3D animation in this one leaves a lot to be desired. I'm willing to give that a pass, though, since the sequel, Cold Steel II, improves a LOT on the animation front and the games before this were squashed pre-rendered chibi-esque sprites on an isometric camera - it's clear they had a bit of a rough time going from that to a full 3D environment with 3D characters for a game of this size.
Falcom also said III will be a huge jump from Cold Steel I and II graphically, so it might even be a PS4 title.
