So I've finished putting together my first MOC.

its a display case built into an IKEA Ribba Frame.

Originally I had a designed for 4x4 mini figs, i.e. exactly one set which would have cost slightly more in pieces but I ultimately decided to get more mini figs in.
It is still missing a plain 2hite cardbord back to cover the writing of the Ribba frame instructions but apart from that it is finished, and I really like it.
I really wanted a way to display them without having to worry about dusting them regularly, so putting them in a glass frame was a great Idea imho ^^
only problem now is the Frame is rather heavy, so a simple nail wont hold it, so I will need to get a drill to securely screw it to the wall.

Ended up ordering 979 Parts from Bricklink to build it, as all pieces are new and none are taken from my existing collection, as I don't plan to disassemble the thing any time soon.
In case anyone is interested I have attached both the model and Bricklink parts list for the models at the bottom of this post.
Also about 550 parts from two pick a brick cups I bought where used.

the 4x4 would have looked more detailed like this

Very cool, the arches remind me of the muppets intro.

How much did it set you back in total?

and a Ribba Frame
15€

oh and part of the contents of 2 large pick a brick cups

I know it's too early to call it a pattern, but there were three models in between the corners, so wouldn't the next model still be a front facing modular?

Depends I guess. Like you say, bit early to define a pattern, was market street considered a real modular?

Seems the next one will be a restaurant, given Jamie 's comments recently about not being able to cook. I think a corner building would suit a restaurant (more frontage), but let's see.

I've to see a 50s diner like the one in that famous painting with an apartment above

Also, when I was at Target they had a couple of series 6 figures left so I just grabbed them:

Already had the female Space Marine, but the other two are brand new for me.
What a coincidence, I ended up with another female space marine the other day. Got tired of feeling up the packets and thought it felt like one I didn't have (usually I feel for her hair). Never rush that last packet. At least the other figurine I guessed correctly (biohazard suit bloke) C'est la vie.

People who can't cook go for ready meals. It will be a mini supermaket! And seeing as they included Market Street with the minis I'd say it's considered one.

I'd love a 50's diner. It'd fit better with the lego aesthetic than a 'fancy' restaurant, plus be more immediately recognisable. And you could build it nicely into a BTTF diorama along with the Town Hall. Just need the Cuusoo delorean

Actually I wouldn't mind a 1 story diner that is a bit more detailed, shit I'd love it if they just did a cheaper modular park, could do swings, fountain, a small brick wall on one side\the back with graffiti on it.

EDIT> I assume this is the frame? fucking AUD$50 here, sick of being shafted for prices in Australia

Quick snap I took this morning before I left the house. From left to right is 8081, 9395 & 8194. In front of those is my pride & joy, Model Team 5541-1.

I'll take some better pics when I have a chance and bung the rest of the 'garage' in there. Oh, I also got the series 7 Space Marine minifig on my first attempt. Nice.

mee to last week at tesco, didn't want to hang around and feel much so I said to myself, one bag and see if its a space marine, went for the back at the back of the far right column and hit the jackpot, I knew as soon as I had it in my hands ;)

Yeah, he's bulky as hell!

The missus was certain she'd got the Easter Bunny but it turned out to be the Hippy (long hair feels like ears through the bag). I'm going to track down the bunny and the bride for her if it kills me.

I felt the Space Marine yesterday but at the time all I wanted was the programmer. I assumed it was him anyway, I felt the visor and he's the only S7 with one.

he doesn't have a visor though. the red is printed on the head and the helmet has no visor of its own.

...then what the fuck did I feel? It felt like the visor that would go on a racing driver helmet.

EDIT: OHHHHHH It was the Daredevil!

EDIT2: Actually he's pretty cool too, from S7 I think I want:
Aztec Warrior
Bagpiper
Bunny Suit
Daredevil
Rocker Girl
Galaxy Patrol
Tennis Ace

Great series.

EDIT3: Looking back there are a shitload I want, wish I'd got into this sooner, definitely gonna be feeling through some S4/5 bags when I get back to Newcastle, fingers crossed they haven't got rid of them in the last 4 weeks.

I was going to buy the big jet thing originally as I thought it looked pretty cool, I saw a review of it on eurobricks and it changed my mind, it looked a lot flimsier than I thought and has a fuckton of stickers :(

Your post had me worried until I actually read the review. Sounds like a great set, and the jet is apparently quite stable nicely put together. I'm in!

My little brother has that airport set, pretty big plane and stuff but not super exciting to build.

Very cool. I think I will rebuild this as soon as I move to a new apartment.

One question: Does the glass/plastic cover still fit into the frame?

God I love this thread. We need more pics!!
Anybody have any rare/old Star Wars sets. The prices on some of the stuff just a few years old is through the roof.

Picked up the Wolvie/Mag/Deadpool chopper at lunch. Still looking for the Cosmic cube truck now.

Wonder when they'll be available in the Netherlands. Planning on getting the chopper set and cosmic cube, and get Hulk and Thor minifigs of bricklink. Might get captain America too.

And when is the spiderman set coming? Really want it.

Currently working on the Grand Emporium. Loving it.

According to Lego's twitter it's coming out in August but I'm sure it'll be available in June/July.

I took some quick pictures of my old Star Wars LEGO. As far as I know, each of these are the very first editions of any of these vehicles that LEGO released.

I have a couple others (Anakin's pod racer, Anakin's Jedi Starfighter, a mini Star Destroyer and a mini Imperial Shuttle, a Technic Destroyer Droid), but I'm too lazy to take pictures.

Flimsy may have not been the correct term but to me it lacked detail especially in the interior. And without the stickers which I never apply it looks pretty plain.

I have all of those except Sith Infiltrator and the ones you didn't take pics of, i do have all the pod racers though. Also B-Wing, A-Wing, Y-Wing vs TIE Advanced, Landspeeder, Snowspeeder... umm, too many to list, i need a checklist.... All of this stuff is in pieces though or nearly so.

So, I've decided which LotR sets I'll be buying in august. I'm not terrible impressed with most sets, so I've figured I will not be getting Helm's deep, uruk kai army and orc forge. That way I'll still have all the sets to complete the fellowship.

Anyone elsing planning on getting LotR lego?

Which sets did you figure you needed? I mainly wanted the fellowshop and a couple of nazgul, the weathertop set actually looks pretty good overall so I'll definitely get that.

Gandalf arrives (Gandalf, Frodo), Shelob attacks (Frodo, Sam, Gollum), Attack on weathertop (Frodo, Merry, Aragorn, Nazgul) and Mines of Moria (Frodo, Gimli, Boromir, Legolas, Pippin, orcs, cave troll).

Might buy Haldir, Eomer and King Theoden seperately, but I don't particularly care for them. Saves me buy 3 of the most expensive (and imo least interesting) sets.

I'll be getting them all... but why August? LotR comes out in June.

Pretty crappy pictures on account of the time and the fact that It's currently in a not particularly flattering place ie storage but here goes:
I'll take more pics tomorrow if people want as I'm also planning to move it out of there to inspect it and replace some missing pieces (it has been through 2 moves so some of the small detail bricks have been lost to time. Estimating under 10 though)
Also Dr Forester posted pics of his UCS Millennium Falcon a few pages back if you are interested in expensive sets.
Edit: This post being buried in the bottom of the page is probably for the best.
