Agh those star wars minis are the ones I want!

Also really wanting that big red jet now I've seen the size, hoooly shit.

Love those minis. I've got the ISD, the Venator and a Vulture Droid, but I need to seek out the other OT sets.

Also, the new planet series have/will have some sweet SW minis. Currently the TIE/I, Sebulba's Pod and Naboo Fighter are available, but this fall will bring a variant of the AT-ST, the X-wing and the Bespin Cloud Car.

Oh man it's been a while since I posted here.

Lets see, someone recomended me to get the droid escape pod so I could get my C3PO mini. I DID!

Also, I got this sucker:

What else did I get a glance of? Ohh yeah, that monkey. That's my fiance's favorite plushie. Personally she loves it a little bit too much. lol.

I gave it to her on valentines day 2 years ago when we were dating. She kept it and called him "peludo" (Fuzzy or Hairy one) because it reminds her of me.... my arms are that hairy. After our aniversary, she decided to let me keep it for a few months so that I start learning taking care of others. I know I know, she is training me to take care of kids. Very subtle hint for "I want kids!"

So yeah, that monkey is my responsibility now.

Decided to create a simple spaceship from my old bricks, I think it turned out alright.
Have no idea what the red is on the right wing, maybe he hit a bird?

this is so cool! I think I had the front brick with the arrow as a kid - it gave me major nostalgia! also the random gunk on the bricks looool

While searching for and failing to find the new Marvel sets, I came across this for 10$, saving a whopping 3 bucks:

LEGO-Super-Heroes-Catwoman-Catcycle-City-Chase.jpg

I found all sorts of deals today. A miss-marked copy of Twisted Metal for PS3 for 30$, a Portal 2 for 360 for 12$, and a 2 pack of Tales From the Crypt (Seasons 5&6) on DVD for 20$. That completes my Tales DVD collection too!

I think I'm going to buy all the Marvel and DC sets when I see them now. I'm skipping the LotR sets because I don't really care for them, much like the Harry Potter series.

I finally took some time and nearly finished the first floor of the Fire Brigade. Unfortunately I have not been timing how long I took (since the first hour to unpack and make the fire truck). I'd estimate meaybe 3-4 hours so far?

It seems to be a detailed and well done model. The one real mind-blown moment was building the part that goes over the garage door, then discovering it goes on UPSIDE DOWN, and how that actually works and looks nice.

Just wait until the second floor. That is the best part of the set. It is all about the little details. The less said the better. Also, dat brick textures on second floor.

Good lord so much nostalgia, the set with that logo brick and the guy with that helmet was given to me by a guy dressed as Santa when i was in kindergarden... I'm talking of stuff happened 17 years ago... that was one of the best xmas present i've ever had.

I posted this on eurobricks but I'll do it here as well to see if you guys know

What do promo minifigures like the upcoming lego hulk go for on Bricklink? If the Australian pricing for the marvel sets is on par with the DC ones it would cost me literally double the price to buy the marvel sets I want from shop@home than it would to order them on bricklink from the US or europe... I want to figure out if the money I'll save will be enough to just grab one of these hulk minifigs from bricklink instead.

What's a previous exclusive like that I can search for on bricklink for comparison?

The Shadow ARF Trooper (4649858) was last year's "May the Fourth" promo, so about $20 to $30 USD.

Picked up Mater on clearance and built it after supper with my daughter - she helped organize the pieces for each step but didn't really seem all that interested until after he was done.

Fun little build, especially for the price. Now I kind of want the matching Lightning McQueen.

The warning about hitting people in the face with the rocket seems kind of silly given that it's nearly impossible to launch properly.

I am both happy and mad that Toys R Us has a shitty Lego deal this week. A free tiny model with a Lego purchase.

Happy because I save money. Mad because I am hanging out at midnight on Saturdays now to jump on a B1G1 50% off sale the second it goes live. Not missing out on the modulars the next time it happens.

Also, all the MOC talk I did, I think I am going to be crazy and disassemble my Imperial Shuttle and Tower Bridge for parts to do a modular MOC. Just too many nice little pieces in there for detail work, and Tower Bridge gives me more windows than any normal modular would ever use.

what set is that hazmat guy a part of?

EDIT: Also, found some of the Kingdoms smaller sets today. We got back into Lego rather recently, so I'd never seen these in person before. Picked up one of the cheap ones, love the minifigs.

And to continue the 'Deadpool minifig makes everything better' meme:

FINALLY found someplace local that had the Avengers sets, and they had all of them except the only one I wanted (the one with Magneto/Deadpool/Wolverine) :(

Did buy my wife the Apple Tree House so that's a plus at least. Almost bought the Lego Creator T-Rex which seems like a neat little build, but was already going way over budget getting the house as-is. One day I will get this goddamn Marvel set though.

Oh man, I was late on Series 1 & 2, and Series 4 apparently never came out in my part of the world. So only I got a complete set of Series 3, 5 & 6. Hopefully Series 7 will be here.

Would the shuttle give you much? Tower bridge I can see would be great for parts (hey, buy another) though

It pains me to no end when I see a Creator set I want but it is not 1:1 of a standard minifig. Most especially the Tower Bridge. I want it so bad but the ratio is so off by atleast 2:1.

Have you seen how big tower bridge is? A 1:1 minifig scale is only something you'd see at a Lego event, they'd never sell something that physically large. And it'd be something like 10k pieces, and $1000

I keep thinking it can be achieved with just MOC'ing 2 sets of Tower Bridge together though.

Have any of you guys had any experience with making custom minifigures, water slide decals etc?

I bought some bits and pieces from one of those custom weapons\armour places about 2 years ago with the intention of doing some customs but kinda got side tracked with children and life. I've got a pile of weapons and the ghostbuster pack\guns\night vision goggles sitting here to do some customs, finally put in an order tonight for some pieces...it's just he decal thing I'm unsure on.

Anyway I got the pieces to do the following

Gordon Freeman
Master Chief
All 4 Ghostbusters
Dark Knight Joker
Dark Knight Rises Bane

I got duplicate pieces for Bane, One without Jacket and one with, though the jacket is another story...I'll need to find some good canvas like material like the batman capes that doesn't fray easy.

For slimer I noticed someone used a baby Jabba the hutt character from clone wars called Rotta so I've ordered one of those too.

Am I right in assuming that the globe star wars mini sets are not sold in Germany?
At least I. Cannot find them anywhere....
Why the hell are they not sold here?

Shuttle would give me lots of 1x2x3 white slope pieces. LOTS. Good for decoration. There are also a lot of 2x2x2 white slope pieces. The curved wall tops at the top of the shuttle body (just before the fin) could be nice.

The large 1x2 wall pieces are quite tall and nice for bulking up a wall quickly. Maybe even pillars. All the 1xwhatever flat topped plates in the set would be handy. It would give enough large white plates for a floor or two. The windshield would make a cool bakery case. Also the sheer number of 1x1 bricks with holes through them could provide for some ample SNOT work.

I would say the shuttle would only have about half it's parts or less usable for a modular building, but handy pieces.

The towers of the real tower bridge are about 213 feet tall. Lego tower bridge is about 17" tall. If you assume a mini figure is 6 feet tall your tower bridge would need to be about 53" tall or just over 3x the current model.

Yeah, didn't find them either, and that search included a Lego store.

And you just have to look at the scale of the vehicles on the set to realize how big an actual scale set would have to be. I imagine people being about the size or a little smaller than one stud.

When I was in a German Lego Store they told me they would start selling them in June.
Now this was months ago, so I don't know how accurate that estimate was.

That's what I was told, too. Was a few weeks ago, so it should be more or less accurate.

Also think about volume not just height. To make a cuboid twice as tall would require 8 times the volume and 8 times the surface area. You might get away with larger bricks, but it'd be MASSIVE and cost way more than any Lego set ever made.

Tower bridge is closer to mini modular scale.
