Either way, we are due for a good B-Wing model, dammit. Even the A-Wing has gotten respectable models made over the years, but the B-Wing has not. But I have faith in the current Star Wars team, as the ship designs this year have been spectacular.
Has the A-wing had a UCS model? I prefer that over the B-wing, but both are second tier ships for me. Having said that, as a modern UCS, the b-wing has the potential to be one of the best Lego ships. (please revisit earlier sets, I want a UCS x-wing, falcon, star destroyer and maybe snow speeder)

Anyone here play LEGO Universe before they shut it down?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhtSX_34fUA

I never did, but it looks like it has so much potential! Why would they abandon it so fast? It looks really cool.

I played in late beta and early release. I thought it was kinda fun. Playing felt similar to the Tt Lego games. With a bunch of exploration, fetch quests, very mild rpg aspects, and a lite version of the LDD thrown in. I was busy playing other games and certainly did not want to pay the monthly fee though. I'd guess they ultimately could not continue supporting it. Not enough income from the players? Not sure. I think perhaps they tried to do too much and a lot of the different parts of the whole experience ended up being quite shallow.

Got around to framing my minifigs. Definitely recommend doing this as a display piece if you don't normally play with them.

Nice! Are those IKEA frames by any chance? If yes, what's their name?

I picked up one of these last weekend to test how well they'd fit a complete set of 16 collectible minifigs.

For the moment I've just made a brick built wall behind the minifigs and used dodgy supports for the minifgs, the plan is to paint the backing plate white and then glue the below 2x2 inverted slope pieces in white for the minifigs to stand on.

How did you go about gluing your supports on?

Also I did a couple of tests for my Venkman hairpiece, using a set of small files I filed back a standard hairpiece, I'd like some feedback on it, which out of these 2 is best? "A" I haven't buffed clean\shiny yet like "B" so take that into account.

Even if one is close but not quite there I'd be opened to suggestions on improvements to make.

It was F2P with a P2P option for additional content.

Apparently it died and had to be shut down because barely anyone used the P2P mode.

I think they made the choice to shut it down before that - it was only F2P for a very short time before they canned it. Shame really. I can't imagine it would have cost that much to keep running, and would have helped keep the brand in kids minds.

Looking for a £20ish model off S@H to hit the £50 mark. Any suggestions?

UFO abduction (its a UFO and some fun aliens)
Loki's cosmic cube escape (nice jeep + Iron Man + Hawkeye + loki)
creator - log cabin
City police dog van/car and caravan/tipper truck
friends - olivia's tree house

Another update, after some feedback from some friends I've taken "A" and worked on a bit more, toned down the bulbous of the center hair tuft and shortened it a little so it doesn't come down the fore head so far. I squared it off a bit too after looking at more photos of Ghostbuster era Bill Murray. I polished\buffed it a little more but I'd like to get it a bit smoother still, the crappy phone photos aren't helping either.

Such a fun set. It is just odd as you put it together.

I bought the Y-Wing for the Hulk minifig promo and built it last week. I thought it was an awesome build and I loved all the fine detail that went into the ship. Lots of small pieces all over the main body of the ship.

As far as the ship itself from a SW perspective, I dig and always have. I had the original Hasbro ship as a kid too and always loved playing with it. Of course, nothing beats the SEX-wing. I own both of the 1999 & 2006 models and I've the 2012 model sitting in my closet right now.

I'd really like to see new minifig scale builds of the A-wing, B-wing, Tie Bomber & Tie Intercepter in the next year or twl.

THe UFO was one of the two set I already have in my bag. May look into the log cabin.

Thanks.

A-Wing has not had the UCS treatment as far as I know, but it at least has had some good models made for it over the years. Almost all the B-Wing models looked poor.

I finished the Vampyre Castle and Mad Scientist Lab. They really do compliment each other well. The Lab was a fun build and the light brick activation is genius. Now I only have the Ghost Train remaining. I will post pics when all are done along with some commentary. My kids are in 7th heaven getting all the Monster Fighters and 2 pirate ships in the same weekend. They play with the sets all day long.

Amazon shipped my LEGO Minecraft set! (21102) I've been waiting for this beauty to come out!

The best part?

The box is a Grass Block.

And then there's this gem from the LEGO Minecraft Facebook page.

Definitely worth it! Get on it LEGO-GAF!

I'm definitely getting my hands on some, it looks like it would scale well with with those Heroica mini minifigs. Make some epic castle diorama or something.

Sadly I live in Canada, so I'll have to find some other source other than Amazon.

R2-D2 arrived today, yay! Only built the first bag so far.

I gave my Imperial Shuttle (the old System-scale one) a wash over the weekend, I just put it in a bowl and rinsed it down with the shower and some Cilit Bang.

Same. I haven't found anywhere yet, should check some of the toy stores downtown Victoria and see if they are getting any in (though I doubt it).

Same, but did bags 1&2. It's an odd buils so far. So much internal colourful stuff that I guess is for the functions, but some nice details on the outside even now.

So it seems I won't be able to get the sonic boom set for a decent price. I ordered from Amazon UK (I'm in the US) a few weeks ago, and less than a week later I got refunded saying it was returned to sender. The address was correct, and customer service couldn't tell me why it was returned, only saying that maybe the shipping label got messed up and that I should just order again. They also said that as long as the order went through, then the item can be shipped to the US. So I ordered again, and the same exact thing happened. Once again customer service has no idea why since it was shipped without tracking, and they can't guarantee a reorder would be shipped with tracking since it's done automatically. They still say it can be shipped to the US, and if I order again this won't happen again. But it seems it probably will, as odds are long that the shipping label got destroyed twice in a row.

Anyone have any idea what is happening here? Customs rejecting it maybe? Anyone else in the US ever order Lego from Amazon UK? I wonder if I order with the more expensive shipping option if it will be trackable.

I'm planning a bunch of pickups on Friday (beside the planes), including the rest of the Monster Fighters sets (no Zombies yet though) and the Creator Seaside House!

these are so bought it isn't funny

Bought the Vampyre Hearse, the Werewolf and Mummy sets today. They were out of the Hulk minifigs alas. Now I only have the Frankenstein set and I will have the entire Monster Fighters line! Then it'll be to obtaining the rest of LOTR and several summer sets.

Ugh and I got about 15 unboxed sets I need to build. It's a nice problem to have.
