Don't know if we have any Sunn O))) fans in here but:

This has been a particularly good page for Lego pics...but this one deserves more love. Amazing!

I was in Toys R Us (Canada) yesterday in hopes of finding the Thor figure. They didn't have it but they did have this:

Is this new? Hadn't seen it before.

Please post this when done.

I certainly will once it's done. For now I have a dilemma as to which cockpit to use....

I could take this from my UCS X-wing but don't really want to start taking parts.

This is the current choice, not the green one but the one from the UCS Jedi Startfighter.

Might try and make this work.

I did a double take when I Saw this thinking you had the UCS......
Look what I got for my birthday!

This is what we were giving out in the goody bags at this past week's Lego store club meeting. We got them in specially for just that, but that's all I know about it.

Just finished this version of the Batmobile:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ERVL84/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I got it as a birthday gift from my mother-in-law 7 years ago after jokingly mentioning it as a possibility. It sat in my closet for 6 years because I was waiting for on of my children to be old enough to help with it.

I absolutely love it, and it got my 5-year old interested in Legos.

Edit: Also had no clue it was worth so much money.

Oh cool, I should check my Toys R Us for those. They had a similar polybag a while back for the Friends line which was a cheap score and I was curious about those minifigs (they are so weird).

I've also been meaning to see if they got any Gandalf Arrives back in stock, they were out last I checked. As a result the only downside to that bag is that it's a duplicate Frodo, but if it's cheap enough...

Lucky you! I love that batmobile.

Well, I got off work around 6, and decided to swing by my local Toys'R'us before they closed at 7, armed with my handy 20% off coupon. They unfortunately didn't have any of the Technic or modular sets I was looking for in stock, but I did manage to pick up 9486 Vampyre Castle for $10 less than Amazon's price after tax. Also, while I was browsing I saw a a box of Series 6 and a box of Series 7 minifigs, so I figured what the hell and grabbed 6 Series 6 minifigs. Here's what I ended up with:
p9Dm3m.jpg

Well, I was hoping for the robot, but I did want the alien and the bandit anyway. And I still have the castle to look forward to building tonight after dinner!
PM me if you'd like to trade for my extras!

Just get a cat. That will solve the problem. I know a few places in my sets where the structure gets randomly hairy. Adds character to spaceships.

Ha. I do have one and she's quite the hairy beast, especially now in the dead of winter, so I lovingly shoo-shoo her away when I'm building. She loves the shit out of the boxes, though.

Just finished the Shuttle Adventure. For it being the old 'broken' design I don't seem to have had the same problems as some. Maybe people are being a bit heavy handed? Mine's just for display, not play, so that may make a difference I suppose. Really fun build though, lots of ingenious stuff in there.

Next up - the Ninjago Samurai Mech with the daughter. Looks decent enough on the box.

Nice. Let us know how the Mech is, DodgerSan. I'm intrigued.

Since I helped get our store ready for the new Star Wars sets which all go on sale tomorrow, I get to build the Jabba's Palace set for the display. Woohoo.

Picked up the Desert Skiff today at the Toys r us in Durham. They had the Gungan sub and Palpatines arrest. That set does not look like it's worth 100 bucks.

I saw Palpatine's Arrest at TRU today. Interesting looking set. ^ but expensive

thanks!

Also picked up my first of those little mini planet Star Wars sets:

iyoIuAMJMhYpf.JPG

WHOA. That set is awesome looking. Series 2 of the Planet Series is so much cooler. All three are badass looking. Gotta go hunt them down.

I got my Minecraft set in the mail and that reminded me to go check on the Hayabusa. It's too bad the submarine is impossible to get now.

JOISUS. Have any of you done a colour swap for a set via Bricklink? Seems like a massive pain in the buttocks if you don't already have the original set.

Now that I've seen this, I can't unsee and can't unwant :(

Speaking of the amazing 9398, check out the following review, with some great videos.

I don't really think that's a great technic model or a vehicle/toy :\

What I mean is, in terms of not being great technic model is - it doesn't have the typical Technic advanced craziness like insane gearboxes etc. that you'd expect from a high end technic model.

In terms of not being a great vehicle - it's really slow, it tips over so easily, and it can't negotiate much of rough terrain either (just stopped every time he tried to make it go up that rock). I could understand one or the other, but both together makes it bad.

Compare to this custom built rock climber. It's fast, it goes over everything with ease: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLk0i6jDMRU Just puts lego's thing to shame, and with less parts too.

So for the next two weeks I'm down at Southbank (sorry, this is in London) building a giant map of the world out of LEGO.

Here's what we got done in the first day.

484025_10151097724776413_698029405_n.jpg

and here's a load of bricks

165908_10151097837661413_252202882_n.jpg

If you want, it's open to the public to come down and build part of it. The map is made up of over 3000 (forgets exact number) tiles and there are a million bricks on site. It's all made up of single peices, the red border was made out of Duplo. So many people tripped over it...

It's going to be finished on August 10th, so until then you can go along and build every day between 12 and 4pm, though we stop handing boards out at 3.30pm so we can finish on 4pm and pack away. If you're interested do come by and take part, it's a lot of fun.

This is awesome! Be sure to keep the thread updated with your progress.

There are a lot of great artists (aside from CocoRosie) playing that event. You should check it out if you weren't planning on it.

This set looks crazy good.

DYING for that one. I don't think it drops this week, though :(

Not that it matters, we just bought the house a couple of weeks ago, so no big Friends sets 'til Christmas, probably. That said, I believe there is a 95% chance that particular set is gonna make its way under the tree this year.

The house is one of my favorite Lego sets from any theme ever. It is designed to be so easily expandable, it just works perfectly with the little $10 sets. We are building rooms for the designer's studio and the inventor's workshop to add to the house, and something tells me Mia's bedroom will end up in there too! I'll have to take pictures when we turn it from a 4-room house into a small mansion. :)

oh shesh, how much is that set

I'm not sure the ranch has been priced yet? There is another set that is somewhat similar for $50 dropping this week. The house is $70.

My daughter and I both have our eyes on this one:

2pw3F.jpg

...but I'm probably gonna make her save her allowance for it. ;p

Yeah, that's what I was expecting. It's great they're adding a larger set. The house was the largest at $70 up to this point, now we have the stable at $50 and the ranch coming at $100.

Eagerly awaiting the $400 Friends mega-set, Themiscyra

yup, I've got the house also, love the little details on it, and my daughter is already building small appliances for it, lots of play ability on that one

The parts list is on page 119 of this thread, provided by Lord Error.

If I had realized that I the parts list is set to new and not used, been strict about staying on track with only ordering what I needed, and doing better bargain hunting, I could have probably build everything pictured for about $100.

However, I ended up blowing a lot on pieces I didn't need. Apparently, orange wedge pieces are my weakness.

Aha! I found said page.

Will they please release some more male figures for the Friends line? Other than the dad with his beard and tie. That's no fun. (BTW, I can't imagine Dad agreeing to that purple and yellow living room set, either.) The line is clearly marketed at girls but that's no excuse. Even barbie has ken.

I like the way the figures look. They should expand it.

The new Friends sets start dropping this week and it is ridiculous how excited I am. Mia's Bedroom, day one.

Just got my shipment from Amazon! They have all of the newest sets for MSRP with the exception of the seaplane so I'm still waiting on that. This latest wave is fun and decently priced; the camper joins Olivia's treehouse as my fav.

uPLGil.jpg

Glad to hear you like the camper about as much as the treehouse! That's a fantastic little set. If somebody asked me where to start with Friends, that's the one I'd recommend. Twenty bucks, lots of fun to build and play with, not one damn sticker.

(Sigh, I wish I could justify running out and buying that camper)

I still need to put together a couple of Friends sets I have from the first line. They're still boxed...shoot I bought an open set off Craigslist and I still need to put it together...=/

This came from the Toys and Bricks forum. If anyone's looking for the Star Wars Imperial Shuttle, it's listed under Target's daily deals (in a bundle with the T-6 Jedi Shuttle). Retailmenot has a $5 off $50 purchase link you can use, and if you have a Redcard, it's an additional 5% off. All together, the 2 sets would cost $232.75 (~27% off MSRP). Or if you have a Discover card, you get 10% cash back on Target purchases, which would make it about 31% off MSRP.
