Currently missing one piece but lego is awesome and will send the missing brick.

Would be nice to see what sets everyone here has.

Rebrickable is awesome. I didn't know about it until now. Very easy to set up a catalog of your sets, which I needed. I'm at the point where I'm out of space, so I have to pick sets to get rid of if I want to get anymore.

i have a lot of sets, very few newer ones, kinda stopped collecting a few years ago.

keep in mind this is less than half the lego i have owned in my life. i had the whole rock raiders set, the mars mission sets (with alien tube system),original spider man sets, lego studio with studio sets and camera, a whole bunch of harry potter, all the dino island adventurer sets, and some bionicle dudes. (i believe a lot of these sets i don't have anymore went to charity, and some were lost)

i settled on keeping the star wars ones, and orient expedition, those were my favorites and we simply didn't have space for the other themes.

I love the T1 because it is has great camp value. I'd be hesitant to display any other piece because of the lack of this value. With the camper, I know nobody will ridicule the fact that I am playing with lego. It has that extra special ingredient. I think I could get away with one of those modulars. It would be excellent to place on a bookshelf as bookend.

I have that set too and for me there was one single piece in the entire box missing as well, a 2x2 black tile.

2x2 blue tile for me.

Still reading through this thread, but it combined with the Tested stuff has made me want to get back into LEGO. I had a ton of them when I was a kid, but they are all at my dad's house and we are no longer on speaking terms.

I think I am going to pick up one of the Star Wars ships in the $50 range. I am looking at the TIE Fighter, X-Wing and the Y-Wing, but I am not quite sure which to go with. I am not totally sold on the X-Wing, but I have always been a fan of the Y-Wing as a ship. Does it also suffer from the sticker issue people seem to have with the X-Wing? I also am not a fan of putting stickers on LEGO.

Went to toys R us looking for a moshi monsters subscription card, and bought the TIE fighter instead. Got the free rubbish looking anakin's pod too

They had a ton of ninjago stuff and it looks really good. You could make some nice japanese/chinese MOCs with those pieces. And the big dragons look great. Might take my daughter to see if she might prefer them to the Dino sets

How much did you pay for the TIE Fighter, because I made the mistake of buying that and the X-Wing there and both sets were $10 more than other store (mos tplaces have the TIE for $50, not $60 like TRU), and TRU doesn't price match. I ended up grabbing both sets cheaper and am just going to return those to TRU this morning.

Has anyone bought any Dino sets? My daughter wants the big compound set for her birthday but I don't know if its good value - the building looks pretty basic. Could get a few smaller sets instead, like the triceratops transporter, pteradon net tower and t-rex helicopter. Its tricky because both the sets with the t-rex are quite expensive

My son is a Ninjago addict ATM- we have almost all the sets. The dragons are really nice (see my pics a few pages back), and between them and the new snake sets there are some really great colors (purple!) for general building once the Ninjago thing gets old.

I went to TRU again today - I really shouldn't do that. I'll put up a pic of my last month's haul in a week once my other sets arrive in the post.

EDIT: The dinosaurs in those sets look great, and would be perfect for a prehistoric MOC. I'm not too buzzed about the vehicles/playsets though, so I'll either wait until they go on clearance or just get the dinos separate from Bricklink.

This thread almost made me buy the first lego thing I have bought since I was a kid. Loved Lego Castles, and that Medieval Market Village looked so fantastic. Had it in my cart on amazon, pondering purchasing it. Price just skyrocketed +$60 since yesterday. Ouch, I guess they must have announced it going out of print?

One of my coworkers has just started buying them for his son. He said his boy loves them. In terms of value, I mean, that's all relative, haha. You could give your daughter the options of big set or # little sets in that line and see what she wants?

Amazon.com?

Camelcamelcamel shows a price increase of about $40. Are you sure it's the same one?

Lego.com has it for $99.

Damn, prices on the euro site are 1:1 compared with the US store. $99=€99. :(

hit another insane piece for the UCS Millennium Falcon on bricklink. Two ladder pieces that go on the back of the ship cost $40-60 each. The iconic dish is only $30.

over $100 for three pieces with shipping.

I wonder what the result would be if LEGO decided to start reissuing old sets that are currently high value on the resale market. For one, it would stop the hoarders from buying 20 Medieval Market Villages just because they caught a whiff of possible OOP. Would the greater availability and the destruction of the resale market mean more sales for LEGO, or less?

I'm in Seattle at stopped at the Lego Store at the mall. It felt so good to see kids in that store so excited to play w Lego and buy sets. I saw this one 9yr old girl grab the Shuttle Expedition ($99) and go to the counter w her dad no questions asked.

I bought my very first sets yesterday, totalled $328...

Grabbed the Millenium Falcon and the Fire Brigade!! I almost grabbed the Grand Emporium first but the employee there said to grab the fire brigade because what happens in a fire starts in the Grand Emporium LOL.

I almost bought the Tower Bridge instead since I was spending so much already but I held off. I also grabbed 2 of the Valentine box sets.

Signed up for VIP and have $15 off my next purchase, which I hope to be the Shuttle Expedition or Grand Emporium.

You will want the Grand Emporium and the Pet Shop next. You knew that the moment you bought the Fire Brigade.

I definitely cant wait to get both. The employee said the Pet Shop is a super fun build. It looked sweet on display there.

I would have gotten the Grand Emporium with the Fire Brigade but really wanted a Star Wars set.

Just went to the LEGO store for the first time ever today.

The only LEGO I have left from my childhood is the:
1. LEGO Mindstorm Dark Side Developers Kit - 9754, Year: 2000 (My AT-AT currently has a broken leg after falling off of a bookshelf. Easy fix if I ever get back to it.)

Just today I picked up the VIP exclusive:
2. Mini Modulars - 10230, Year 2011/12?

I wanted something small with a lot of pieces and this guy looked perfect. Apparently it doesn't include all of the Modulars that are out (no Pet Shop), but I thought it could be a fun project to make my own Mini-Modular for the other ones.

Good God I have the mother of all hand cramps right now and I only finished the first building. AAAAAAHHHHH!!
So many small pieces. D:
Is that store front decorated with skeleton legs? Eerie.

The Maersk Train was awesome looking when I saw it.

I'd love to buy that one too. Damnit, I want tons of Lego sets now. Ihu lego gaf but ily lego gaf.

build the train first.

So beautiful but I know I'd have to add RC power functions to it, which would push up the cost.

Will that be around for a while? My recent purchases will last me ages, and there isn't much in other themes catching my eye - this, the falcon and the Town Hall is about it I think

went to Target and Walmart yesterday to browse some sets, and found that in both stores the Lego sections were pretty barren. Is this common? Walmart had a couple of XWing left but now I see that TRU is having a "30% off all Star Wars stuff" sale tomorrow so I think I'lll stop by there tomorrow and see what they have.

Did you look around in other toy sections? Some stores seems to put lego sets along in other sections of the store, like a bunch of SW sets are near the SW toys and some by the Lego section.

yeah I went to the dedicated Star Wars toy section. WalMart in general seems to be a mess but the Lego section was pretty empty. Target was the same way. Wonder if they get raided by collectors every shipment day like Hot Wheels.

Yep. Kind of ingenious but also a bit creepy.

I'm really liking the mini modulars so far -- I've finished the first three now. They're really structurally and visually dense, which is pretty unusual from my Lego experience.

My only complaint is that some of the details kind of require familiarity with the original sets to understand what they're supposed to be. I'd really like to see a separate line of original micro-scale buildings that can incorporate ideas tailored to micro-scale rather than trying to imitate larger sets.

Pop some pictures up of the mini-modulars, if you don't mind.

How much is it to buy the set?

I think stock dwindles after Christmas and in January whatever's left over is put on clearance or shipped back if it still doesn't sell. I know both Target and Walmart had a bunch of older Lego sets at 50-75% off last month.

My Wal-Mart had almost as much Lego as the Lego Store but I think they recently stocked it. I was impressed though, pretty much everything except the archetecture and super expensive sets. Target's shelves were nearly empty.
