I pulled one bunny by luck, wasn't bag feeling that day.

I'm wanting to build a base for the Lady Liberty fig, I assume it's been done before but I couldn't find one. I figured eurobricks would have one in their minifig contests but I couldn't see it.

Anyway this is my initial draft:

But I can't help feel that it's too large for the figure, any smaller and it'd lose detail that's already hard to implement on something so small. Ideas? Thinking about using some 1x1 round bits to form the corners on the middle bit.

I was feeling for the bunny, but could not identify it. The only thing that I knew for a fact that I pulled was the tennis player and something with a huge helmet.

Uploading pics of haul. Will show off soon. Including new Deadpool stuff. :)

EDIT: Pics of my series 7 figure haul from today:

And a Deadpool pic I took that needs no caption:

Took a few more Deadpool ones, but want to add the word bubbles before sharing.

Aw crud. I wanted to save money so I designed an x-wing in ldd (made of about half the parts of the newest set).
I then ordered parts on bricklink... Sadly it ended up costing the same price when shipping/handling was determined.
So now I would have an x-wing with fewer parts and no minifigs for the same price.
Ah well, I've learned my lesson.

But you now have a custom model that you designed yourself, which is always awesome.

Have any pics of it?

Well, true. It doesn't really look much different than the official x-wing, but it is only 290 bricks. Also, I borrowed more from the UCS x-wing for the top of the back of the x-wing.

I might post a pic when I build it IRL.

Please do post a pic of the actual model. Always love to see MOCs.

And as promised, here is more Lego Deadpool awfulness.

I usually just post the large thumbnails. If anyone wants links to the original huge pics let me know.

I also uploaded all the pics onto the Tumblr finally. It is my first time attempting a blog/photo sharing thing, so bear with me on it. But I promise to keep posting pics there.

How about some classic Technic action? The only complete sets I have from my childhood are 4 Technic sets, and this is the first set - 8820 - that I dug out tonight. This set was released in 1991.

Primary Build:

Alternate Build:

Loved that set when I was a kid. That was the best thing with Technic sets. Alt build instructions.

Birthday today. One of my gifts will require some time putting it together, I'm looking forward to it:

Someone a few pages back posted a link to some midi scale customs; it was a tumblr link I think or a blog of some sort and there were a couple of Lady Liberty w/base builds in there.

haha

Jealous of the Shuttle. I am trying to save up for the last modulars that are in print that I dont have, and then the UCS R2 after that. But damn are the Shuttle and VW Camper totally mine after that.

oh, you don't have the shuttle or camper? Those are the two best (not crazy expensive) sets out there IMO

Saw the avengers today, part of my wishes I'd bought the quinjet, but not much. The other half is thankfully I ordered both Iron Man suit minifigs :)

What did you think of the movie?

Copied and pasted so I don't have to type it out again

Saw it today, as hard as it is for me to say it, Joss Whedon finally made something decent. Lots of fun, action, humour all throughout. It hit the tone just right for a popcorn comic book movie, a different beast completely to the batman films but not to it's detriment.

You didn't like Firefly????

So I'm almost done with the ucs falcon, and don't like how the top of the rear of the ship is turning out.

It's split up in a few big pieces that get held in place by a single vertical peg each. I get that it's for display only, but it kind of looks half assed. I'd rather it snap into place instead of just being able to pull it off, but I'm not 100% yet, so maybe there's more. Some of the cosmetic piping also goes nowhere.

It seems like sturdiness has really improved in LEGO design over the last few years.

Ah did I miss you posting that earlier? My fault if so...

Sounds good, I am excited to see it. I am just afraid it will make me go splurge on the sets

I caved in and just ordered the Lego Series 7 Computer Programmer and Galaxy Patrol minifigs on eBay...I paid like $6 each for them (including shipping) but since I had $7 in eBay Bucks I practically got them for retail...and without having to drive around town to find a store that might have them and feeling up bags (that doesn't sound right =P)

I also happened to stumble upon the Lego 6866 Wolvie set last night at Target...my wife had a $10 gift card as well as the 5% Red Card discount so we got it for $10+ after tax =)

They're finally putting out those Old Republic sets, that's pretty cool.

It's too bad they don't have minifigs of the player companions, though. I'd buy a Bounty Hunter ship if it came with Blizz and Mako figures day one.

I try to stay in the SW Original Trilogy Lego sets for the most part, but I gotta say that 9500 Old Republic set looks pretty good...

...whoa, but $90(!) good...? I don't know, yo =P
