Here are some pics of the Monster Fighters and the Target sales from a couple of days ago. I have no idea when I'll be able to put them together though. Maybe next weekend.

Well due to some mistakes with a newspaper coupon I got another free Batman Jetski today. Obviously my local Smith's hadn't run out.

I just looked up some really old Lego that I got when I was four, and it was preowned even then. There were some pre-minifig Legoland figures and loads of small-scale buildings and cars. I don't suppose any of this is worth anything today, especially not complete, but it would be fun if I could find the old instructions.

I had a yellow fire station, the blue rocket base and some blue station I vaguely remember. Also some Indian figures, IIRC.

Is it improper to ask if anyone here is interested in series 6 or 7 minifigs? I'm sitting on a ton, but my posts in the Buy/Sell/Trade thread seem to get lost.

Hey, Phonciple, I have an extra series 4 guitar guy sitting my car still in its original wrapper if you want it. I'll be glad to shoot him your way.

Ya know, I can handle stickers on my Legos. What I cannot stand is Lego's obsession with flick missiles. I end up leaving them off of several builds because they really drag a model down. That batman jet ski is a good example as well as the jeep from Loki's escape from the Avengers line. They are done pretty well in the Alien Conquest line, but it seems they put them on goddamn everything just for the sake of it.

Doesn't the Weathertop set have flick missiles? :/ I totally agree with you.

I was wandering around TRU today and they had all three of the larger new Creator sets: Transport Chopper, Seaside House, and Highway Pickup. All of them look good. I will wait until the next sale though...

The big creator sets are really hitting the spot for me this year. Could happily own all the big houses, lighthouse, the cars and trucks.

I hate stickers more than the flick missiles

Well at least the missiles on the jet ski stay in place.

Haven't bothered with stickers in a long time.

I refuse to use the stickers too, if the bricks are printed, fine, but I would never... They can stick em...

Sorry, I have no doubles to trade...
Apart from that I have hardly any from the first series...

I want that Jabba's palace... I'm sure amazon will sell out in a few hours like they did the LotR stuff (which they still have not restocked!) -__- so I have to be lightning fast once it's available!

Come Monday my Shelob arrives! Then I will have every LotR set except Helm's Deep (I think i'll wait till I can catch a good deal on that one)

Just visited my local Target. They have all the stuff Eskimo found in his, but none of them are on clearance!! Double you tee eff?

It will be on a store by store basis. It's obvious that my Target is making room on it's shelves for LotR and Monster Fighters. The shelves are full, so out with the old. Your Target may not have this issue or may be able to make room by rearranging other products within the same isle. My Target and Meijer have killer deals on Lego all the damn time. My Wal-Mart? Never.

On A similar note, the K-Mart here in Marshall, MI has a goddamn plethora of Star Wars Xwing and Tie Fighters. I counted 12 of each and they haven't sold a single one in well over a month. I'm eyeballing those waiting for a clearance! I count them everytime I walk past them.

Was that really a Target? The shelf price tags don't look like normal Targets.

The tags looked kinda similar to the one in my store. I didn't take any pictures. But the aisle was totally full. They didn't even have space for the Marvel Superheroes stuff, and there was no LotR or Monster Hunters stuff yet. Oh, well. The Alien Conquest stuff was more a luxury than a necessity.

From an odd argument in the Avengers forums.

"Batman's playing Galag-errr Space Invaders. He thought we wouldn't notice, but we did."

You have an FFVI avatar. For that, I will not torture you with pics of awesome Star Wars sets.

GIVE YOURSELF TO THE DARK SIDE!

No, it's that I really want most of them but it's probably going to be a very long time before I can afford to :(

I expect some of the other sets I want (that are currently out) will be OOP by the time I can spend money on lego as well, so I'm looking forward to paying way over MSRP on those down the line as well.

Put off other luxury purchases, give in to the lure of Lego!

Games? Who needs them!
Movies? You won't have time for them when you are building your new sets!
Books? The only reading material you need are the building instructions.

Actually, the fact that I don't play video games much at all anymore is what allows me to feed my new Lego drug habit.

And Sailor, look into some modestly priced sets for a Star Wars fix. Things like the X-Wing (god, it is so hard not calling it the SEX-Wing after a poster called it that in here), Y-Wing, and TIE Fighter are all modestly budgeted and fantastic sets when done. Are the big UCS sets inane and awesome? Of course. But the sets I listed in the $50-$60 range are really good and will not break the bank to get them either.

If you want some smaller stuff to kind of satiate the need for a bit, the microscale ships that come with planets are quite nice. Only $10, and you get a cute little set with a mini fig.

most LotR sets back in stock at amazon with Prime shipping:
Gandalf Arrives (9469) - $12.99
Shelob Attacks (9470) - $19.99
Urak-Hai Army (9471) - $29.99

The more expensive sets have been easier to find and mosty have stayed in stock (so far):
Attack on Weathertop (9472) - $59.99
The Mines of Moria (9473) - $79.99
The Battle of Helm's Deep (9474) - $129.99

not shown, The Orc Forge, which seems to be a retailer exclusive available at LEGO.com

Also, Monster Fighter sets are now in stock at shop.lego.com. On amazon soon? I hope :)

I was really lucky and got it for £15 just before Woolworths went under and they were slashing everything.

That's where I got mine, but it was before they started to go under. Woolies was just really good place for deals. Shame they are gone now.

Managed to pick up the Ninjago polybag with ease this morning. Was worried I'd be late to work as buses are a pain at that time of day so getting on one further down the line can be risky. Had a slight attack of worry when they hadn't placed the Sun in the same spot as they had during the weekend. Guess they don't need to put the newspaper in a prominent position now. There was only one other person when I went in, but it was a bit after opening time so I have no idea if people were waiting outside. Thank God I don't live in one of these places that apparently have people queuing to get the free Lego.

And then on the other end of the spectrum you have Hamleys, who sell Lego at such a premium that even sets that are on sale are above the RRP.
