And then on the other end of the spectrum you have Hamleys, who sell Lego at such a premium that even sets that are on sale are above the RRP.

Here in Germany Woolworth (still?!) exists, I'm not entirely sure how closely they are or where related, they do however use the same CD.
But they sell LEGO at normal RRP, as does pretty much every shop I've been to recently, I cant think of one where they sell over RRP...

Some LEGO Batman 2 video game pre-order deals. One deal (gamstop and/or eb games) includes this small lego set featuring Lex Luthor as a bonus:

I have the first Lego Batman. Should get round to playing it more. It once crashed on me which kind of bummed me out.

I saw the Luther offer printed on the packaging in my local independent store so I'm guessing in the UK it's just comes with the game no matter where you get it from a bit like the Harry Potter game that had a Lego set included. On the other hand they may charge a little extra for it.

Nice! Here in the states, I noticed gamestop does offer the free minifig... amazon however has some exclusive character unlocks for the game including Nightwing, Katana, Shazam, Zatanna, and Damian Wayne.
I'll stick to my amazon order since the game was $10 off when I placed it and I already have a Lex figure from that awesome lex/superman/wonder woman set.

Here in the Netherlands I still can't find Loki's Cosmic Cube or Captain America Lego sets. :(

Also no sign of LotR lego.

Yeah wtf is up with that? I know the LOTR sets will be there after a while, but the missing Loki set is really odd.

no avengers or lotr in germany either... they don't want our money...

Aren't the Avengers sets exclusive to Galeria Kaufhof, starting in June?

Anyway, I've just ordered the Quinjet here:
http://www.superspielwaren.de/lego-6869-auseinandersetzung-luft-p-9776.html

I guess this is an import from the UK. It's a german shop that seems to ship from the Netherlands. Good prices, and my order is already on it's way via GLS!

And you can already preorder the LOTR-sets at amazon.de:

You get it with Play.com, but not from Amazon. But then it's £5 cheaper on Amazon, so it's whether it's worth £5 to you.

It is to me, but ymmv ;)

What are the three black blocks meant to represent anywho?

One of the worst scene models I've ever seen.

Err, LEGO Batman 2 is £30 on ShopTo. £40 on Play.com with the mini fig.

So £10 for a minifig... err, that's stretching it a bit, and I still believe other retailers will sell the bundle they just haven't listed it yet.

build the big atlantis set yesterday evening (while watching Iron Man I/II) nothing too spectacular about the build the mechanics of the Shark head and Portal are interesting enough, and the Model Sharks look surprisingly cool.
but the Atlantis Minifigs steal the show, they look great.
and for the amount of pieces the 30€ was well spent, lots of stuff I will be able to use for a Modular Building.

That's where I got mine, but it was before they started to go under. Woolies was just really good place for deals. Shame they are gone now.

Managed to pick up the Ninjago polybag with ease this morning. Was worried I'd be late to work as buses are a pain at that time of day so getting on one further down the line can be risky. Had a slight attack of worry when they hadn't placed the Sun in the same spot as they had during the weekend. Guess they don't need to put the newspaper in a prominent position now. There was only one other person when I went in, but it was a bit after opening time so I have no idea if people were waiting outside. Thank God I don't live in one of these places that apparently have people queuing to get the free Lego.

A guy in WHSmiths this morning was buying about 10 copies of the Sun :S
Is this just for eBaying? Surely the profit margin can't be that big?

That can be the only reason someone would be buying 10. I'd say once they are hitting more than three you can assume it isn't for their children or friends.

Can't see much profit in this little car. At least tomorrow's has a nice torso.

damn, forgot about the sun. wanted the ninjago. Maybe just get two on Saturday with the white ninja. don't care about the car, but my kids want ninjago figures

I got two Ninjago's from TRU this morning. They didn't mind giving me two, either. Nice little figure.

I didn't bother with the Batmobile yesterday, I'm not keen on the mini vehicles.

Also, Monster Fighter sets are now in stock at shop.lego.com. On amazon soon? I hope :)

I was looking just last night and thinking it was odd that the Monster Fighter stuff was not even on the Lego Shop, I couldn't find them anywhere.

Of course it is kinda moot right now since the LotR line also seemed to come out sooner than I expected them to. And I need to get all of those before I start picking up others I want like the MF Vampyre Castle or SW Sith Fury Class Interceptor.

Bought a bunch of Lego in a huge bag at a thriftshop, and trying to see which sets I scored - and hopefully if I have the parts to them (and if I don't, is there a good place to get the missing pieces once identified?)

Any ideas what sets these may belong to? The orange vehicle is a Coast Guard set, I found that out. And the green pieces are for the Toy Story soldier jeep set with the three minifigs (which sadly, I'm missing, hopefully I can find these somewhere)...

I wonder if I could preorder the game, grab the minifig, and cancel my preorder a couple weeks later. I don't really want the game, but that figure looks pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure you only get the pre-order items at the time of purchase. Maybe you can return the actual game sealed the day after it releases and hope they let you keep the mini-fig though.

Not sure if you realize (and from your username you might not care) but the pics link to your FB profile.

Good score! How much $?

Called LEGO store, got the smaller LotR sets in, which I've already ordered. Wanted to pick up Moria and Helm's Deep. Won't be in till next week, so I went and got Helm's deep at TRU and paid the absurd TRU tax....

Which I will get back next week after I go buy Helms Deep from the LEGO store and return it to Toy's R Us, all the while enjoying building it this week! HAHA!

Well, my Imperial Shuttle has finally been shipped, so here's some old pics I found from when I was trying to sort out my old Lego (I gave up after I found out that I was missing a rock, so I couldn't continue building the gold mine)(also, this has nothing to do with the imperial shuttle, I just wanted to show these pictures):

you may have this set

I found it by searching for that tan piece that has 2 seats in it used for cars, I thought it may have been an indiana jones set so I searched for that, then in the inventory for that set I clicked that piece, then it brings up a list of all the sets that piece comes in and in what colours, I clicked through them all and saw the one above which it looked like had pieces in your pile.

That's probably the way to do it though, find crazy weird pieces in your pile that look rare and search for those, find out what sets they appear in and narrow it down.

Say, I'm fairly new to this LEGO business. (Started with the Superheroes) but since they give you the building instructions online, if you have enough loose piece from earlier sets, couldn't you just as easily make a newer set out of older pieces?

That's where rebrickable.com and bricklink.com come in; although I think LEGO sets have the tendency to have at least one or two rare-ish parts.

This thread is just too fast for me too keep up, especially at 100 posts per page it feels like there's too much to read between each time I check it haha.

I ended up picking up the new Millenium Falcon and then a separate order of the Hoth Base set during the May the 4th promo.

Looking to snag Weathertop in a couple days when my local lego store gets the LotR sets in stock (seems kinda pricey at $60 but I'll be using my 40 dollars in VIP points so no biggie).

Also I noticed you guys bringing up the sticker debate again, personally I would totally prefer printed bricks but at the same time the stickers don't bother me in the way that they can always be taken off later to keep the brick 'unbranded' whereas a printed brick is stuck that way. Also as has been pointed out in the sets with stickers it's usually a lot blander looking if you opt to leave them out of the build.

The Monsters Fighters sets have shown up on the online Lego store! Just in time too because I got some extra cash coming in soon so I can start buying them up! Still waiting for the Summer House though...

Don't care much for stickers but it's too bad Lego got away from using a lot of printed bricks, they used to make some great ones back in the 80's and 90's and I treasured those pieces like gold.

Depending on how you look at it I'm either really bad or really good at picking series 7 minifigs. I'm up to 6 knights and they're getting restless.

There are public pics, so was hoping they'd show up correctly. But glad you're still able to view them. I got a huge bag for $5. I put together...4 sets out of it :)
