Man. That looks so nice and it makes me want to pick up all of the Marvel sets to have the full Avengers roster. D:

Dooo iiiitttt! :D

It was a great set to waste three hours on and I like that the wings flaps fold and can basically toss in all of the other Avengers inside as there are two extra seats and the cargo hold area. Also has little landing wheels too. Probably the stickers were the fun yet tedious part about the build - such a pain when you have perfectionist tendencies.

Can you just order/subscribe to the newer sets and skip the older, space-themed ones?

edit: this is referencing the MBA sets, of course.

That's good to hear. I'm going up to the Lego store on Thursday to get my mini-Hulk, so I may pick up the Quinjet or the Helicarrier Breakout and Cap's Cycle.

^I kinda wish they'd included an Agent Coulson figure with that set (and Maria Hill and Nick Fury with the Hulk Helicarrier Breakout set).

There exists a design for a Nick Fury figure at the least (he's on that poster they put out), so I imagine they're gonna have to release a figure eventually.

Give me a Helicarrier set with all the SHIELD figures. That's what I want.

Awesome. I still need to get Cappy's cycle as I have the Terrasect heist and Helicarrier breakout sets arriving tomorrow. I look forward to spending more hours building Avengers Lego. :)

There is one subscription that covers Levels 1 & 2 (Kits 1 to 6), which is one year of sets (they send them out bimonthly). A different subscription is required for Level 3 (kits 7 to 9) which will be sent out over 6 months. That will be the same for Level 4, which will start in November - you will need to pay for another subscription.

It would have to be pretty big... I don't think the Avengers line can sustain one of those $250 sets like Star Wars gets away with. But I would like to see them release a Fury figure somehow.

I dunno, the Helicarrier was probably one of the coolest vehicles in the movie for sure. The build on it could easily justify the $250 price tag if one was allowed to add the already existing Hulk set into it, dock the Quinjet onto the runway and have the engines spin. I'd totally be all over that, especially if it included Fury, Coulson & Hill.

Huh, I could totally imagine a 150$ toy-ified Helicarrier.

What I'd WANT though would be a 150$ slightly toy-ified Prancing Pony :/

If they do release it, I hope it has banner and stark in street clothes in the lab, that would sweeten it for me.

Just got my Thor and Black Widow minifigs in the mail! Sweet! Still kinda sad that Black Widow doesn't have anything in the way of weapons. Trying to decide what I like most about Thor, though, the hammer or the hair.

haha so which one of you dudes put money in this slimeball's pocket?

(05-22) 11:12 PDT San Jose, Calif. (AP) -- A Silicon Valley tech executive is scheduled to appear in court on charges he put fake bar codes on Lego sets to buy the toys at steeply discounted prices.

Santa Clara County prosecutors Monday charged Thomas Langenbach of San Carlos with four counts of burglary in connection with the alleged thefts at multiple Target stores. He is set to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Authorities say Langenbach covered over the original bar codes with his own bar code stickers to get a cheaper price. They say he made thousands of dollars selling the pilfered sets of colorful toy bricks on eBay.

Langenbach works for German software giant SAP. His LinkedIn profile lists him as a vice president in a Northern California division. Attempts to reach Langenbach, who is free on bail, were unsuccessful.

I'm gonna go out to the Lego store tomorrow probably and grab a couple of the Avenger sets before that mini Hulk promo is over.

There's a huge chance the Haunted House might get introduced, taken from wiki article on 'Challenges'...

A challenge faced by the designers of these sets is that they are not able to work with the full palette of Lego bricks and colors ever produced when designing. Instead they are limited to the bricks and colors currently in production by Lego at the time of the product design. As an example, for Café Corner, the designer wanted to include a bicycle piece in the set, but at the time, the machine that made bicycle pieces was broken. It had to be fixed in order for the designer to be able to include the piece in his design. With Market Street, the fan designer was limited to only the bricks and color combinations available as 'active components,' meaning bricks that were already in production. No new bricks could be introduced.

Majority of the brick colors in that blurry photo of it posted before looks like the same bricks used by the 'Monster Fighters' sets.

I clearly know nothing about barcodes...wouldn't this be hard to do?

No, it would be pretty damn easy. All you'd need to do is scan and then print a barcode from a cheaper model, say a $20 model. Simply tape it on covering the existing barcode and it will come up then as $20 instead of say $80.

Here is a repost from several dozen pages back. Yes, Black Widow looks better with guns blazing!

Also, i noticed in the Avengers movie that the front canopy of the Quinjet dips downward when the plane is in the landing position. Very nice detail Lego picked up there. I'm happy to see the Quinjet mentioned often. It is a great build and looks fantastic witht the other sets.

It is so nice to come home and find a Fed Ex box with Grand Emporium and a lil tiny mini Hulk inside. Day off tomorrow too. Oh, and Iron Maiden DLC for Rock Band as well. Great day indeed!

Off to the store for food and beer! I have a night of building ahead of me!

See i knew when i clicked this thread I had to fortify my will against legos, but this is just getting to ridiculous levels of stupid stupid temptation in varieties i wasn't prepared for. This is not the lego thread, it is the goddamn serpent in the garden of eden, whispering in my ear to buy that shiny limited edition 10,000 piece UCS apple of knowledge.

Whyyyy do i keep opening this thread. I didn't even want the avengers legos before i saw the movie. Oh the pain. Fortunately I can convince myself I'm facing starvation in order to guilt myself out of spending money even if it's not strictly true yet. Though, when I can find monster fighters I do plan to crack a little bit.

Man, I have too much gray. I have all the Kingdoms stuff, a bunch of Fantasy Era Castle stuff, some of the smaller PotC stuff, and a couple Prince of Persia sets. So much gray. And I just added to that with all of the Lord of the Rings stuff I got in the past week. I want to get another set this Friday, and Helm's Deep or Vampyre Castle are at the top of my list, but it's just SO MUCH of the same color. I'm a bit torn.

It's weird, when building the Quinjet last night, I was struck by the realization that there was so much gray in the set. I was happy when I got to put the yellow, red, royal blue and green blocks down versus the gray, black & white. This morning, I put a little Ninjago set together that my friend had sent me - luckily there're different shades of green and brown in it.

Yes, as someone who has built, or helped to build, most of the Ninjago sets, lack of colors is not a problem.

I have the opposite problem with the Dino sets - I look at the few sets I have and that garish bright yellow just turns me right off. Thinking of selling them as a result.

Only monster set I grabbed was the Werewolf one. Fun build and great figures. And pretty cheap to boot.

Wait until the 2013 rumors start breaking. We get to start this all over again. ;)

I really hope they don't abandon unlicensed castle and space themes. The amazing Castle and Kingdoms stuff was what got me back into LEGO. As much as I love the idea of LotR stuff, and I will certainly continue to buy it, I was really excited about the route they were going with the unlicensed sets. :/

My 3 LOTR sets came in early today (Supposed to come tomorrow), the Weathertop, Gandalf set and the Uruk-Hai army set. Don't go back to work until Thursday night so yea! I think I'll return one of these Star Wars sets I got (Mainly so I could get that minifig) and maybe purchase another set. If I'm lucky, they'll have some of the summer sets in. If not, I guess I'll just order online.

Dream time: Tower Bridge gets retired to make way for a new, super massive Brooklyn Bridge model. Take all my money now!

There are so many landmarks I'd spend lots of money on. The micro sets just don't do it for me. Bridges would be great for easy shelf display, but buildings too. Good call on the Brooklyn bridge - iconic and I think would suit building in Lego too.

I'd have to think Golden Gate Bridge would come before Brooklyn Bridge. Internationally, it's far more iconic.

I'm jealous of all you guys with the kingdoms and castles sets. When I was a kid those were my favorite, along with pirates. I got back into collecting as they were phasing out their most recent interpretations of those... now I have to wait a long time >:(

Yeah, I think we are due a new large-scale model next year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Castle sets take a few years off, while LotR/Hobbit runs its course. The Pirates theme is up in the air, as PotC might be on hiatus until movies 5 & 6 are released. I would love to see the Western theme make a return in 2013.

I just watched a youtube review of some Monster Fighter sets. I'm so glad I took the plunge. Theybllok great and all the reviewers love them. The Vampyre Castle is fantastic. I think I'll start my 4 day weekend off by putting all of those sets together. I already have a bookshelf cleaned off for them all. Also, my wife is put shopping right now and on the prowl for the only two sets we are missing, the zombie and mad scientist. It would be great if she found those. After putting the Avengers and then Batman sets together only after having the entire collections, I kind of like to do it that way now.

Happy 10,000 posts LEGO-GAF!

Here, have some cake.
