Yeah, I think we are due a new large-scale model next year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Castle sets take a few years off, while LotR/Hobbit runs its course. The Pirates theme is up in the air, as PotC might be on hiatus until movies 5 & 6 are released. I would love to see the Western theme make a return in 2013.
I'd jump all over some old-west sets... My Dark Tower fandom would see to that.
Any sci-fi or genre sets are likely to get my attention. contemporary sets like the city sets are less my thing (though I did buy two creator sets on discount today... mostly for pieces :))

Yay 1st post of page 101 :P

Just built the 8129 AT-AT Walker.

It's surprisingly big and looks very cool.

Here is a repost from several dozen pages back. Yes, Black Widow looks better with guns blazing!

Also, i noticed in the Avengers movie that the front canopy of the Quinjet dips downward when the plane is in the landing position. Very nice detail Lego picked up there. I'm happy to see the Quinjet mentioned often. It is a great build and looks fantastic witht the other sets.
Nice, I still need cap and hawk eye to complete my avengers. there is a custom nick fury decal online, maybe ill take a shot at it when I complete my current list of custom minifigs I want to make. Seeing your black widow guns made me remember u have a brickfforge sub machine gun lying around somewhere that would be perfect.

Speaking of my custom mini figs here's the list of the ones I have planned.

Ghost busters (still need to do some work on it and waiting for my pke meter to arrive)
Dark knight joker
Tdkr bane
Tdkr john blake
89 Batman joker in museum outfit
Mulder
Scully
Three amigoes

Maybe include
Nick fury
Commissioner Gordon
tdkr catwoman
Doc brown
marty mcfly

At what point do we need an OT2. Whenever that is the tag should be something like LEGO (OT) Com'n just a small taste.

I'd have to think Golden Gate Bridge would come before Brooklyn Bridge. Internationally, it's far more iconic.

I agree that the Golden Gate is far more iconic, I just think it would be an above average build when you do it. The Brooklyn Bridge would be a bit more varied in the build, and lots of opportunities for some freaky building techniques.

Either one, I would be curious to see how they handle the suspension wires that stem from the main suspension beams.

Sorry, that was the worst of several Avenger photos. Here is a better one that people may want to save or whatever. This one is my iPad lock screen atm. I really need to do some new ones with better lighting, and also a batman series of shots.

The guns I used are from a star wars clone wars bounty hunter (what a description!).

Also, Black Widows hair should be shorter and more red like in the movie. She has the same hair piece as Poison Ivy, but Ivy's is a much better shade of red IMO. Maybe I should switch them :P. I would have to change the faces too so the eyebrows match. I may try that out later.

Still, she looks great with the whole team. The black from her and Hawkeye contrast the other team members very well.

Sweet. I think I'll take a photo of them with Spidey and Wolverine when everything is all assembled.

Agreed... Both hers and Hawkeye's hair are one of the few things I'm disappointed with regarding the set. Was joking with one of the Lego store employees and he mentioned it'd be funny if Lego kept track of who bought Avengers sets and sent them replacement hair for both characters.

Not seeing shorter haired Natasha nor spiky-haired Clint in my Lego saddens me for some reason.

If you dont mind Hawkeye being blonde, you could always give him the hair from the Tennis Player minifig.

Yeah, was planning on tracking down a spiky-haired minifig. Since I've seen depictions of Hawkeye as blonde (see avatar) or brown (most of the artistic renditions), having the figure blonde or brunette seems to work regardless.

For BW though... I hope they release a minifig that has the shorter red hair...

Here's the other problem with the Avenger and Batman line that bugs me. The Avengers have 3 Lokis and 3 generic underlings to fight. That is the extent of the series so far. I guess you could throw Deadpool and Magneto in there too, but it's still lopsided for kids to play with. Meanwhile, Batman, Robin, Superman, and Wonderwoman are swimming in villians. They're outnumbered 3 to 1! (Unless you use all 10 Batmen I have from this series, haha)

In short, Marvel needs more villians and the Batman line needs more heroes. My kids have to resort to crossovers to even the odds!

Have them reenact some Wolverine vs. Hulk!!

Thinking of grabbing the U400 for my adventures into Technic...Not sure...

Recently when I felt like I wanted to get back into the Technic line, I was very tempted to get the Unimog. But I thought the price might be too high if I ended up not enjoying the build. So instead I had grabbed 2 of the smaller Technic sets to get a taste. Mini Tow Truck and Mini Mobile Crane.

I am glad I did. They were great to build, have a couple different models to choose from in each set. And it scratched my Technic itch quite nicely while not costing anywhere near as much. I don't know if I will end up getting the Unimog in the future or not, but now I don't feel in any rush to do so.

Gat-damn Bricklink, yo. Utterly addicted. My minifig collection has increased about 700% in the last fortnight.

We run this street.

Also, LegoGaf, I present to you what is technically my first humble MOC: a Sex-Wing Sex-Stand. It's nothing much, but I'm happy with it.

I would love it if they re-introduced blacktron.

Which series though? I'm kind of partial to Blacktron 2 (Need to take a pic of the Blacktron 2 base I have displayed) but Blacktron 1 had a great color scheme and some fun ships.

You people are terrible influences. Amazon has gandalf arrives back in stock. Just pulled the trigger on it and shelob.

I must say, we are indeed the perfect influence.

Also, I am now beginning to regret never having gotten into the Minifigures Series when they first started out. Would be quite a challenge to get them all now at decent prices.

True, but there's always someone in here who's a lot more generous with their Lego budget, so it's easy to rationalize and make yourself feel better!

I am fighting with every fibre of my being to not splurge on both the Malevolence and Fury Interceptor right now, you heartless bastards.

Just noticed on the back of the instruction book for the Orc Army, that they will be doing Hobbit sets this winter.

UCS, minifig scale Bag End Please!

A good bunch of these came in today, either via Fedex waking me up with a shipment or me checking out one of my local Lego stores today. I need to start on these so which one do I open first?

First floor of Grand Emporium completed. So far, this is my favorite modular that I have. Loving it more than Fire Brigade so far. It is the little touches. And I love the door on the shopping center.

TIME FOR FLOOR 2!
