Mini Modulars is great indeed. Wish they'd make more like it!

I finally decided what to order at L@H for the Hulk minifigure - 3315 - Olivia's House ^_^;

I picked up my first Series 7 minifigs from a Kmart in Brisbane. I was pretty happy to get Little Red Riding Hood. Hopefully it wont be long before space marine, computer programmer and bagpiper are mine!

My Kmart did not have the QAR either.
I did grab Cannibal Escape at $11 and Captain's Cabin for $4.50 though. Gonna see if my nephew wants them, if not then I'll keep them.

Couldn't find the QAR at any Kmart I went to :( I'm going to try one more tomorrow. I haven't seen any of the new Star Wars sets anywhere, but did see what looked like the whole LOTR collection at Toys R' US.

Finally completes the first floor of Fire Brigade. Trying to make this build last. :)

And now, a couple pics for your pleasure (sorry, doing everything by phone).

Fire Brigade set is screaming for a Ghostbusters MOC

It is really not funny how spoiled I am by amazon. My order from lego.com is taking an age to arrive and I'm not happy about it. The shipping also cost a lot more than amazon + tax :|

I really hate stickers. They should at least give you two sets since they are so easy to screw up.

Thank god the modular line doesn't use them.

Do all the modular buildings have the older style minifig heads? We're they going for a retro theme?

I dig the old school yellow smiley faces. Really tempts me to pick up one of the modulars, like Fire Brigade. But don't know where I'd place it once it's been build.

Now if Lego releases a police station modular to match Fire Brigade and the rest, I'm sold instantly.

Oh, just wait until you do the second floor. That is the best part of the set, and the best part of any of the modulars I have. (Fire Brigade, Town Hall, and Grand Emporium).

Do not look forward in the instructions, and do not look back at posts like mine where I posted pics of all the awesome parts of it. The less you know about the floor, the better. Just start building it and let the joy of discovery take you.

Market Street's the odd man out with this one too. The three minifigs that come with the set have more detailed heads - glasses, eyebrows, etc.

Market Street does not count. At least not in my mind. It is the only modular I could care less about doing.

My heart wants Cafe Corner and Green Grocer, but it is so damn expensive to get them now I wont be biting.

Partway done with Tower Bridge takedown. When done, it is MOC modular time.

Just finished Gandalf arrives. Nice little set.

I just realized something: soon we will get a Gandalf the White figure. And hopefully he comes with a Lego Shadowfax. The lord of all Lego horses.

Can't wait to get the next batch of LotR sets and the first wave of Hobbit stuff. They better make a minifigure for each dwarf in The Hobbit!

The great modular debate! MS really was branded awkwardly, and it's quite different than the other mods (fan designed, fewer pieces, the minifig heads). I think the general rule with Market Street is that it counts as a modular if you have it and like it, and it doesn't if you don't.

I like the set personally, but I can see why it's divisive. The 'market' half is bland and a missed opportunity. But the townhouse is nicely done. I prefer it a bit over Cafe Corner just because of that half. And I'm a sucker for all that blue.

Hell yes! I am looking forward to both of them.

And I must ask, how much is that Gollum in the window?

I will love him, and hug him, and squeeze him, and I will call him... my precious.

Pet Shop will be mine. Oh, yes! It will be mine. Last in print modular I need to get, which is good. That way I can move onto other things and not feel as guilty.

This pic was from a few days ago. I did change the order on the shelf. Now Town Hall is in the center of the other two and it looks a lot better for it. And the billboard on Grand Emporium is now facing forward so it looks better. Whenever I get Pet Shop I will most likely split it and put a half on each side of Town Hall.

I do have to say that now that I have 3 modulars, it is so much more impressive looking. One modular looks awesome. Two together looks great but seems kind of "less than" for some reason. Once my third one showed up and they are all lined up, it all just clicked together and is so amazing looking. Can't wait to see what craziness they unleash in the line next.

Here's another new set for June. It's a brick built display case that comes with a classic blue spaceman. Pricing is $10 so they're affordable if you want to get 4 sets to display a complete CMF set.

Woke up realising Smiths was already open. Jumped out of bed and rushed to get the paper fearing they'd all be gone because it's a Saturday. Arrived at a quiet store which still had plenty in stock.

Maybe all the hype really was over the two Batman sets.

It could be the perspective and lighting... but that seems to be a 'fake' classic spaceman. The helmet seems to be a modern one without a visor and the color blue is to dark.

This is a classic blue spaceman:

I'd buy a shirt with that logo.

I have 2 of them, blue and red, They're my favourite shirts, I'm going ot make more. I just found the logo online and slapped it on a t-shirt via redbubble. They don't allow you to SELL licensed IP but if you keep it private instead of public you can do it.

Just finished my last alien conquest set, really fun and enjoyable build. Especially that they used rail tracks for the base of the mothership, overall not too many cheap or custom pieces. That's something I missed with the monster fighters castle, the towers use no actual shindles, it's one big piece :/

But I di love that we're getting all these new, cool colors. Half the fun of the alien conquest is the cheesy 50s/60s scifi retro look along with some awesome pink, green and neon green pieces. MF got that cool mint green as well, so there's that. And the piano/organ for dracula adds a niece touch as well.

Now it's off to r2d2, got here just in time for the long weekend :D

(If anyone wants picturrs, just let me know)

Oh and for anyone from europe, check out amazon.it. They have most of the more recent sets in stock and the price is usually way lower too. Sh isnt too bad either, 8-10 eur and takes about 2-3 days.

a few examples:

vw camper 80 eur
london bridge 170 eur
imperial shuttle 170 eur
maersk train 80 eur
shuttle 70 eur

Yeah, looks like the towers are black versions of the ones used in the Harry Potter sets. I generally don't like it that they use such large pieces for the castles in Harry Potter and recent Castle/Kingdoms sets. Makes them less interesting of a build, plus the parts are less reusable in other ways.

Helms Deep looks better in that regard, though it still uses 10 of these:

Ordered the maersk train for 90 euro including delivery. That's a good saving over the uk price of £92. handy that I can use my amazon uk account too

At those prices I'm almost tempted to buy a second tower bridge for parts - about £145 compared to £210

For anyone else - buy everything on that list, they are all awesome!

Edit: aaand now just bought some Power functions parts to motorise it, and a bunch of track (track is damn expensive).

Thanks for the tip! I still have the "2" bags in the box unopened, and can't believe the box is still 1/2 full, and still kinda heavy.

Can't decide which to get after this, now: Grand Emporium, or Mini Modulars.

I started with Fire Brigade and went to Town Hall next, which was a step down. It looks great when built, but the building process itself is not as fun. I still need to get the mini modulars. I would say get Grand Emporium next. I just did that one and it was a lot of fun.
