Which would Snoopy buy?
Snoopy is a Mega Bloks fan, sadly.

7uvw5tg

This is the only Mega Bloks set I own, I swear.

Alfred Molina still has more separate character representations as a minifig--Doc Ock, Satipo, and Sheik Amar.

The Vampyre Hearse is pretty cool. I love that the coffin is a printed piece and it looks pretty slick as well. Am I the only one who thinks the set could use a chrome engine/pipes? I mean he's gotta be loaded, the Lord Vampyre can do better than that I think.

And it feels weird that the back is open like that, feels like there should be a door or something...

I was not too interested in them until all the hype on here. I gave in and am stuck now. They are the type of sets that you have to actually build for it to really click about what makes them great.

Ignorance is bliss. If you're big into other themes then keeping away isn't a bad thing. You could always buy one - something like the pet shop would integrate well into a town alongside creator houses.

I started with the Pet Shop thinking similarly. I like it by itself, even if I never get any others. I might get another one day, but there are many other sets I want before then.

might as well start now, you know you want it mwahaha
We all do. Even if our wallets won't admit it.

Wow. The Queen Anne's Revenge is brilliant. I think it may be the most fun I've ever had assembling a LEGO set. I can't believe I paid $30 for this. I can't believe I almost didn't own this set. This is the first time I've had a set where I actually think it's even worth the Toys R Us tax. I honestly think it's worth the $132 or whatever TRU is asking for it.

I admit, I have a bias toward the Pirates stuff. But I also love the Castle theme, and some of the best Castle sets ever have come out in the past several years. None of them compare to this. I wish I could take it apart and wipe it from my memory, just so I can build it again and be amazed at how awesome it is, for the first time. Love all the skeletons and the bone work. Love the elaborate captain's cabin. Love the flaming skeleton figurehead. I REALLY hope the fifth Pirates film comes out soon, so we can have new ships and hopefully a UCS version of the Flying Dutchman. My plan was to save and get the last LotR sets I want, but I actually think I'm REALLY going to save and get the Imperial Flagship. I missed my opportunity to get it while it was still in circulation, and I'm kicking myself now, but these huge pirate ships are hitting my G-spot. I need the Flagship to go next to the Pearl and QAR.

QAR is one of the few sets my parents want me to find a good home for displaying it.

On the other hand I think my dad would be horrified if I bought Tower Bridge.

We have two spots we can have display models in the spare room. One currently has a mini SW fleet - Imperial shuttle, X-wing, TIE fighter. The other has the QAR. SW will have to make way for Tower Bridge, but I could almost get away with displaying that in the lounge IMO.

The modulars live on the bottom bunk of my son's bed - I boarded it over so its now display space.

Milamber: go for it. Sounds like the price-per-brick ratio is worth it alone.

Anyone know if there are instructions floating around for the MOC Villa Hillcrest? I friggin' love that thing. I wish I had the imagination for things like that.

well from firefly we know LEGO doesn't like prostitution.... and probably nudity either...
Slave Leia's in the Lego Star Wars game so I doubt that's the reason. Since she doesn't really appear until Jabba's sail barge, it's more likely she'd be in that (hypothetical) set than in the palace.

She was already in the first Jabba's palace.

I'd rather have no slave Leia than have to deal with that ugly Jabba figure -- almost as bad as the Yoda one. I'm so glad they are doing better molds these days. The Jabba in the new Palace looks really great.

Wish I owned both so I could combine them though :)

It's not just Jabba, but LEGO have been printing minifigures like Jar-Jar and the new Gamorrean Guard:

Old:

New:

Much better. Needs a printed Yoda other than Clone Wars Yoda.

Jar-Jar old and new

Wow that old Gamorrean Guard is one of the worst minifigs I've seen.

But I think those green transparent aliens from that Mars Mission space series are probably still the worst.

Big improvements. The earlier gen minifigs look incredibly cheap in comparison. Clone Wars Yoda looks GREAT, i really hope they redo movie Yoda soon... I want to own a Yoda :) Way too expensive on reseller sites. It really does amaze me how valuable some of these minifigs can be. Thankfully we are getting a new Boba Fett soon (which also looks very improved over earlier versions)

Pretty much. The Guitar is from the Series 7 Rocker minifig. The piano and Microphones are from this set:

And I pretty much built from scratch the drumset from this set that's not coming out until August:

Thankfully my Daughter is also into Lego so she can have the stage and Andrea minifigure :lol

i knew it! i have that drumset ;) it was already available in germany, but yours looks way cooler ... better colours. i really like most of the colours in the friends line, but with the new sets they went a little bit over board, way to much colours mashed together in one set

Just spoke to the local Lego store in London in case they were getting any creator sets in alongside the sopwith camel.

The answer is no - but they are getting the Minecraft Cuuso on Friday! Didn't realise they'd be selling them in store and nit so soon.

I can't wait for the western town modular, I wonder what scale it's going to be. It looks like mini modular scale. Also there is a happy valley town hall back to the future mini modular on cuuuuuusooooo that I want.

I can't believe it's £30 here. I would've bought two at £20ea

I need a quick answer, I'm getting one of the modular building for my birthday, but I'm not sure which one to get. I'd prefer something that's closer to being OOP and then something that's not as fun to build. I'm eyeing either the Grand Emporium or the Town Hall.

Do you have Fire Brigade yet? If not, that is disappearing first. After that is Grand Emporium, then Pet Shop, and lastly Town Hall. Town Hall is only a few months old, so you have lots of time on that. And honestly, it is the most boring build of them all as well. It looks awesome when done, but is nowhere near as fun to put together as Fire Brigade or Grand Emporium.

I did a breakdown of the three when I built Grand Emporium the other week.
Finished Grand Emporium. Time for some 4am pictures before I collapse for the night.

HULK IS HAPPY TO GET BARGAINS!

The three modulars I have, all lined up. Soon, Pet Shop will be mine. And I will need to buy a bigger shelf to hold it.

As I built it, I thought I was missing one glass pane on the top floor, but after I finished the roof I found it. So I have one window that is backwards from the others. It is not noticeable, but I know. Urgh. Might have to disassemble some to fix it.

I did have an odd thing in the set though. I was shorted 10 dark tan bricks, but over 10 on the light tan ones. So the back side of the top floor has an alternating color pattern on one layer.

Of the three, I think Fire Brigade is still my favorite overall.
Winners in building categories for these three sets:
First Floor: Grand Emporium. Easily. Although Fire Brigade had a less steps using 60+ of one piece.
Second Floor: Fire Brigade. It isn't even a contest. That second floor is worth buying the set for. It sounds silly, but nearly everyone on here who has gotten the set seems to gush about the second floor. It is just one of those things where there is either a cool building technique, or a really cool touch of detail to it. It has everything. Even a kitchen sink.
Third Floor: Well, only Grand Emporium and Town Hall have one, and Grand Emporium wins on that one. Building a toy store for a third floor is really neat.
Roof: Town Hall. The set may be above average as you build it, but the roof is an ace build. Lots of cool techniques, and a great cap to the building.

Overall appearance: Grand Emporium. It just looks so cool on the exterior with all the little touches. I am glad I held off on it instead of starting with it, otherwise I would be spoiled.

Anyways, expect lots of silly Hulk and Deadpool pics tomorrow now that I have a new building.

Cool. Thanks a lot, guys. I don't have any of the buildings, so this is gonna be my first. I'll grab Fire Brigade and Luke's Landspeeder then.

You have just taken your first step into a larger world.

That reminds me, I had an idea for whatever we wanted to call the OT 2 for this when the time comes.
