A little backlog -_-

Anybody going to get the batman pick a brick tomorrow?

How does that work? I've only seen this in the store recently.

When I picked up the May model, it was prepackaged in a small pick-a-brick bucket. It was my first pick-a-brick so I guess that's how they work. Lego stores prepack the bricks needed for monthly model and it might be free with a purchase. I wasn't charged for the May model I picked up.

MOTHER#$&!@, I was just about to order the Vampyre Hearse and the Helicopter Attack, and now it looks like there aren't any Hulks left. It won't add him to my cart. I'm devastated. My girlfriend even called the S@H customer service line to try to get me one, but they're closed. That's what I get for being an indecisive wiener. :((((

With all the hype about the modulars I started looking online at the fire brigade, but ended up buying the grand emporium as I was able to get it for about $165 Canadian. Is it weird that I want these sets mostly as backdrops for my batman lego?
sounds legitimate to me :)
and if the itch is still there afterwards, remember to get the fire brigade first ;p

tomorrow Müller in germany will offer a 20% discount on Lego (well its 20% off all toys except videogames and books and stuff, but I hope LEGO is fine)

oh dear, thanks for the hint, now I will have to go after work -.-

So I wonder if this Star Wars 1313 thing could find its way to LEGO? The game just got revealed, and the trademark extends to "toy building blocks", among many other things.

This is only a first pass, but I was trying to make a stand for the Sex-Wing tonight, but with the challenge of having the ship at an angle. Make it look like it was banking.

The results after a first pass. Think I will refine it some and also try and to the same for the Y-Wing and TIE Fighter. If I had more Technic joints it would be easier, so I did what I could with what I had.

Wish I could get a slightly lessened angle, but that is all I could get for now. Will brainstorm some more.

Alright. Listen up, you Star Wars LOSERS!
:)
I want to adorn both my X-Wing and en route Fury Interceptor with their mini planet set counterparts. The X-Wing is straight forward, but are the big Fury and mini Interceptor not exactly one and the same?

Nope. TIE Interceptor was from Return of the Jedi.

Fury Interceptor. Basically squashed and only half as cool.

BTW, that mini TIE Interceptor is a really neat lil build. It will take like ten minutes or so, but it is still fun. And you get an extra TIE pilot to boot. And a Death Star Christmas ornament.

Yeah, it's quite the cutie. I think I'll get it; they look similar enough *cue SW fans cringing en masse*.

I have a 31cm x 72cm corner of the spare room that has been kindly granted planning permission for shelves/display cabinet by the wife. I think it's a bit shallow for anything except small Lego sets though. Any suggestions for display units?

I'm currently in possession of a finished Sopwith Camel. Unfortunately, I didn't build it. A coworker did and she gave it to me to take it to the store tomorrow for display. She messed up in a couple spots so I'm just fixing them now. Pictures coming coon.

Which store? As you're posting now I'm guessing UK as European stores would be open already

sounds perfect for two modular buildings ;)

speaking of modulars, the first floor is shaping up too.
needs more detail really, but im running out of suitable bricks, all the creator cars dont really help when building a house... ;)
so I will have to buy more houses.... -.-

The old creator town house would have been perfect - lots of tan bricks and black slopes. But it's expensive now. For basic bricks bricklink is probably simplest

I have one of those (bought used for 50€ :)), and that is used heavily in my moc, as you can tell ;)
the other main supplier of bricks is the family home 6754
but for the details I will have to bricklink once I decide what to do exactly :)

As I began the first floor to my modular MOC, I realized that the only things that are always in short supply are 1x6 and 1x8 bricks. Basically the wall pieces. Tons of little 1x1 pieces for detail work and whatnot, and tons of windows, but those beams for the walls are like gold.

Well, I'm in for it now. Ordered the Fire Brigade, a handful of minifigs for my daughter to play with, and although it said I qualified for the hulk minifig my order had the mini sopwith added to it. Figure if I order now rather than in the morning it'll get shipped off today.

If I am not mistaken the HULK promo was only till yesterday and today the sopwith promo begins.

Oh man. In the Lego store in London and minecraft is £35! For 489 tiny pieces. In comparison mini modulate is £60 for 1350 pieces.

Puts paid to any idea of buying multiples to make a larger world. Lego are taking the piss

Yep, I posted about this ealier. It's a joke.

Jabba's Palace is £120, as well, for just over 700.

At least for Jabba's palace you get euro prices (€150), minecraft is €35 (which is already way too expensive) and they just converted 1:1?
I'm really glad we have some Dutch online Lego stores with somewhat fair prices, because standard prices are just insane compared to the US. But hey, at least it's not Australia...

I'm not really into Minecraft but thought a few sets would do well for some 8-bit mocs. Not so sure now.

I would agree.

Couldn't one just PAB or bricklink the needed pieces? Might be a bit cheaper, at least. Of course, I haven't looked at the set closely yet, so I don't know if there are new/rare parts.

EDIT: anyone check out the Lego site yet? Some new things added:

Seaside House
Sopwith Camel
Minecraft set
Mining sets
Minifig Beach Scene
Some new packages-complete LOTR package, SW series 1 mini vehicles, and some others.

nice one, you just need the Falcon, then a Star Destroyer
I do really want the UCS falcon, but it's way, way, way too expensive. The €206 for the Imperial Shuttle was €6 over my (present) max price for one Lego set, and even then I try to limit purchases of those expensive sets (unless you count the flagship, it's my only one).

The small falcon is a great set, but too small for me. The tie-fighter, x-wing and shuttle are somewhat or fully to scale, so it has to be the UCS falcon. Maybe someday I'll find one at a flee market...

Finally sorted out the LEGO I got from the bag & it sure was painful...

LEGO 8051: Motorbike
All pieces accounted for & built.

LEGO 4995: Cargo Copter
Every single piece except the rope was there, easily replaced.

LEGO 4993: Cool Convertible
Sadly, this was missing a ton of pieces. Almost 60+.

LEGO 7248: Digger
Around 5 pieces missing.

LEGO 7287: Police Boat
Around 10 pieces missing.

LEGO 8167: Jump Riders
One missing wheel & rim. Aargh!

My first adventure into buying loose LEGO. Never again. I don't even want to think how much it's going to cost to bricklink the missing pieces.

Dear designer who thought it was a good idea for the clock faces to stick out like a sore thumb.
( ゜▽゜)ニ◯)`ν゜)

Yeah. And it has a second hand :p Other than that it's a cute build. Hey should have just done a square tile print with big bens clock face on. That'd have made it stick out less.

I bought a second set today to try and mod it so it doesn't stick out. Will need to up the scale slightly though

I was thinking the same thing. Posted an attempt at the tower earlier in the thread.
Played around with LDD and real bricks this afternoon out of boredom.

Would have to think of an alternative for the gold tools though.
