Also, original Blacktron minifigs are the coolest space minifigs ever. I just love the design on the body, and the opaque visors.

Yeah because of that I bought the blacktron walker I used to have as a kid for a couple of euro's. It's great to have the blacktron minifig again :D

What are those black police looking ones on the front left?

They are...

Blacktron V1.

Which became the bad guys of the Space System sets in the 80s. The original Space Police were the figures with the white helmets and red visors (you can see them in the back left of the same pic).

Original Space Police (1989)

A few years after the initial sets, the Police started to look really dumb:

Blacktron took the biggest dive in awesomeness. The figures started out as so badass, but just got worse as time went on...

I do like that one of the new mini figs did have the Blacktron logo:

But the general aesthetic of the old Blacktron stuff is still awesome. I know nostalgia is playing into it, but those sets were my favorite as a kid, and I loved how Lego was starting to give us villains. And it is too bad they got rid of the inverted triangle logo for Blacktron.

The old Space Police sets were awesome because every set came with a cop as well as a Blacktron figure to put in the jail cell. I have all the old Space Police sets and used to rebuild them so much as a kid, I still have it memorized on how to build the jail cells after over 20 years.

I had a few of the '91 era figs. I liked them, but then, I had never really seen the '87s until recently. The newest CMF ones mostly just remind me of Borg.

I am missing ALL my 90s Blacktron figures. I dont know where they all disappeared to. I shall be scouring my mother's house when I see her in a few weeks. There has to be another crate of Lego somewhere there.

But yeah, the 87 Blacktron figures are my all time favorite ones.

I just missed out on the original Space Police and Blacktron. I do have one minifig of each from an old battle pack. Always thought of buying an old second set.

Also I'm not a fan on the new space helmets. Sure they look more fancy but you can't even flip he visor up.

I do wish they made a new golden age space set wish a distinctive colour scheme. The Alien Conquest was quite good in that regard (Grey, purple and trans. green) but that is qhy the recent Space Police was so disappointing.

Going through the Brickipedia pages for all the old Space stuff and also finding my old baseplates, I think when I finish my Cafe Modular MOC I will try an old school space MOC. Just all the weird large windows and neat little touches. Will be a few months before I tackle it though.

holy shit, the orange brick separator is a great tool. It's working perfectly for everything I would need help with while taking apart my UCS falcon.

Once I finish that breakdown, I can't wait to jump into building the VW bus.

This set just arrived!

Bought it to go along with Medieval Market Village. Plus, Lego goats!

Mill Village Raid was only released last year so I wasn't expecting it to go OOP so soon, but I had an absolute bear of a time tracking it down. Finally found it over at B&N.com for MSRP. Looks like the more recent Kingdom sets, and MMV, are on their way out now. If there's any interest in them, I'd jump soon!

One of my favorite sets to come out of LEGO in years. This is one of the reasons I had such high hopes for the Kingdoms line. I'm really disappointed it's already being fazed out. Enjoy, it's a really, really fun set!!

Bit disappointing. The eye design literally rubbed off. Can I send for a replacement since it's literally been a week since I got the set.

I would, I can't say I've seen any Lego print worn off in such a short time.

I've got some nearly 30 year old Lego that is still pretty good.

cool, the more I see of the sand green though the more I hate it, as soon as the parts list is out I'm gonna price replacing all the sand green for sand blue or something else. I like the use of the brick pieces for the exposed wood panelling.

Sorry for the poor image quality but here's my latest ebay purchase...

Always been a fan of the older legos. I think I have every set from the Soldiers line except the small little boat set. Sadly this and Eldorado Fortress did not come cheap but it's cool to have a ship for once. Now I want a pirate one as well...

I forgot I did acquire Dark Dragon's Den from the Dragon Master's line from 92 (With the box and instructions) but I'll probably just sell it and get an older set I like instead (Kind of a flimsy set to be honest)

That's got manual transmission selector, and it's motorized, right? How fast does it move?

It's manual transmission, but the actual vehicle isn't motorized to move. That's my only complaint with the model...I imagine it would be pretty easy to motorized, though. I'm going to build the B model with the other kit and then rebuild the A model to tighten some of the gears and connections. The motor controls the door, hood, and trunk. It's definitely a very neat and refined model, but the lack of motion in that respect is meh.

Just get yourself some XL motors (two if you can fit in that much, one for each rear whell) That baby will fly!

I'm pretty sure I owned that one growing up. Quite the nostalgia trip to see it here.

PhoncipleBone - did you post new pics of the MOC? Did I miss them? Really excited to see how it turns out!

Funny that you post that, I just uploaded them to imgur.

First floor complete. May add more lights and flourish to the front.

Back of first floor.

Completed first floor of split spiral staircase.

Second floor. Need to add a bit more flair to the front. Maybe some spotlights or hanging plants. I hastily threw together the two on the end.

Both floors together.

Back of both floors together.

Overhead view. The railing around the balcony is temporary for now.

I am proud of how the second floor locks with the first on the staircase. I need to add railings to the side so people dont fall off the second floor to the stairs below.

Later this week, I do the roof.

Hot damn - this looks great! The work you're putting into it is really paying off. Kudos man! You'll have to post it on Eurobricks, too. You'll get a lot of well deserved praise once you finish it up. I'm sure (if you're looking for it) you can get some tips on how to add flair if that's what you're aiming for.

brilliant :)

Thank you. I am very modest. I usually dont like showing off stuff since I have a massive inferiority complex with all my art (art degree here). But I do also like getting feedback and praise. It is only human.

The kind words mean a lot. But I just want to keep tinkering...

I have gone outside of Tower Bridge for parts obviously. Well, there is lots of Apple Tree House in there. In fact, the roof will be almost all Apple Tree House parts.

EDIT: Yeah, after I finish the cafe, I think I am going to attempt an old school Space System MOC. It will be fun since I have so much more building experience with massive sets, but also a huge nostalgia trip.

I really like the second floor, but the bottom floor looks a bit plain. Maybe a dumpster in the back?

Great looking facade though it feels more like a bank than a cafe.

True. Was trying to figure out what it looked like, and that nailed it. Going to tweak the front a bit and get a better look.

The sidewalk in the front and the back area I need to get to eventually.

But the first floor has a lot of touches:

I reckon a few colourful awnings above the ground floor windows would help, may a small table with chairs, flowers under the windows would start making it feel more cafe like, maybe take a look at the cafe they're sitting at in inception when everything explodes.

Thought I'd show you guys my recently reconfigured Lego abode. Goddamn, do I need some more shelving.

EDIT: In before "there's a distinct lack of proper modulars in there...". I'M WORKING ON IT.

My first haul photo post

The duplicates I'm selling to try and reduce the shipping costs, If anyone in Australia is interested in any of these let me know.

but then they'd be buying a MBA, because buying a 13" MBP is stupid.

Oh I didn't realise they sold 13" MBAs now. Well neither have an ethernet port apparently so they're both useless. Also no white plastic.

Like white Lego bricks. /lego related.
