Nah, man. Abstinence until the B-Wing drops. There aren't any sets that I really want right now and I just bought and filled up a new shelf. Storage is becoming a serious issue now. Congrats on the Mini Mods. I'm sure S4M will come through with the order; I've ordered stuff that's sold out nigh instantly with no problems.

Haunted House, dude. Haunted House.

But yes, the B-Wing shall be ours!

Yeah I've pretty much got everything I want (that has been released). The MM weren't even on my radar as I pretty much gave up on them coming at a decent price. Wouldn't mind the Black Pearl though I can't see that getting discounted.

Ha. Don't tempt me, Phonciple. It's a great set, but I'm not compleeeeetely sold on it. Plus, it's quite pricey and a bitch to display. Seriously. I have 10 large-ish to LARGE sets on display in my room right now. GOTS TO CHILL FOR A BIT!

EDIT: My brother is moving out very soon. Helloooooo, Lego Room.

The blitz has been pretty good for us Aussies so far.

No interest in the set whatsoever but Jabba The Hut's Palace is 35% off which makes it $135.

Just finished the Minecraft set; good God are my thumbs are sore. SO MANY 1x1 PLATES! :D

I love the overall look to it. Very compact with a lot of little details with the sand, water, grass, and a few gold pieces in there.

Definitely a set I want to do a lot of tweaking and additions to in the futures. I want to make the caves a little more open and viewable, add a bit more lava and water around.

Ok, went and bought some Lego to get going.
Bought:

6913 Blue Convertable - looks like fun, might mess about for that contest.
6886 Wolverine's Chopper Showdown - total ripoff but the minifigs are awesome (Deadpool, Wolverine & Magneto)
5623 450 Blocks
5549 650 Blocks

I figure some mass blocks might come in handy :P

Apologies if already posted ....

YouTube - Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 jet engine made from Lego bricks

A moving replica of a jet engine has been made out of thousands of Lego bricks.

The half-size replica of the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine has been created to inspire young people to pursue careers in engineering.

It was made by professional Lego builders Bright Bricks, with advice from a team of graduates and apprentices from Rolls-Royce.

Staff at Rolls-Royce in Derby have been inspecting the engine this week.

The inspiration for the model came from a five-year-old boy.

Rolls-Royce brand manager Sarah Martin said: "He'd sat down and built a little engine out of Lego with his father, sent it in to me and that was the sort of seed of the idea."

The engine is normally used to power the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, and the Lego version is more than 6ft 6in (2m) long.

More than 160 separate engine components were built using 152,455 Lego bricks, then joined together to replicate a real jet engine.

It took four people eight weeks to complete.

Ben Russell, a higher technical apprentice at Rolls-Royce, said: "This has been such an exciting project to be a part of and something I never imagined I'd get to do.

"I hope our Lego engine will show others how exciting a career in engineering can be."

One is a destructive, mentally unstable force to be reckoned with. The other is The Hulk.
How can two totally different people possible live together in such a small apartment? They are "Perfect Strangers."

From the Lego GAF MOC contest.
Complete with ad nauseum bursts of laugh tracks following Hulk's trademark quip,"Oh, cousin! Get out of city!"

Urgh. Now Toys R Us DOES have a coupon for 20% off online. Just spent a bunch of money on clothes yesterday, but the coupon is tempting. Of course, my birthday is only a few weeks away, so I should probably refrain from ordering a big set.

Should...

Let's see how strong I am.

EDIT: Wait, it isn't a coupon? It is just an online promotion that should auto work. Yet it does not work on Lego, even though the site does not list it as excluded. LAME

It's part of the ongoing scam this week that TRU put most of their Lego back to MSRP, but calls it a sale, so it won't work with promotions like this that exclude sale items.

But what I was looking at was normal price and not marked down. It does not work on anything Lego at all. The stuff that is marked down from their normally inflated price does say "reduced" or something. Either way, the promotion does not work on anything Lego.

What item was it? IIRC, the other promos also weren't working with anything that qualified for the promo Ninjago set, either.

Modulars. Those are actually msrp at TRU.

I would either go into the store and have them order it for you through their in-store ordering service, or I'd call customer service. They'll give you a code to get the 20%. I tried doing it earlier this week, and it wasn't working. But it's not listed as an exclusion, so they have to honor it. I used to manage a TRU store. Trust me. They have to honor it.

Will do. Thank you.

Ya, mine neither; says it's due to ship out on Friday. Usually amazon ships really fast for books and other things; often been surprised to get it Fedex 2 days after I've ordered it. Considering it's free and I live in Hawaii, that's quite a deal.

my order finally shipped! can't bear to have no Lego box on my desk lol

Well, Toys R Us could not to the 20% off promo with Lego online. It is because of the free Ninjago sword. That lil thing alone excludes all Lego from the promo.

But the side benefit of going to the store was that they randomly got a box of series 5 figures in. So I grabbed all they had left along with Seaside House. Time to see if I can finish off my series 5 collection now. :)

Stopped by Toys R Us during lunch and they had just cracked open a bag of Thor polybags to be placed on the floor. So if you are interested in a cheap way to get the Thor minifig I'd stop by TRU and see if they have them on the shelves yet. If not, ask.

Also, BN has Darth Maul's Sith ship and the Republic Frigate for 30% off in store. My local one had stacks of each. Makes the Maul ship $49 and the Frigate $84 before member discounts or coupons if any come out. No idea how long they will be that cheap, but it does make the Maul ship a fair price finally.

Mine hasn't shipped but I used my points to order the Blue Cruiser and the yellow plane that I think might be our next MOC contest set. This is the order that I've cancelled twice already, but I'm gonna let it go this time since it's "free."

Picked up the Thor polybag, lots of series 5 figs (FINALLY GOT MY GODZILLA SUIT!), and Seaside House.

One of my favorite little touches to the set: the outside shower and towel.

Overall a fun and quick build. Nothing amazing, but it does give quite a bit of light blue bricks which is nice. I also love the large number of glass doors and large windows that come with it.

Overall: Recommended. A bit pricey compared to other Creator houses, but still a fun and cute lil display piece.

So, after getting frustrated with my lack of "skillz" for the MOC contest, I decided to raid my very small collection. And just build.

Sorry for the color pallette, but it was all I had to work with.

It's very nice! Keep at it. I avoided looking at entries in the MOC thread until I had done some work, cuz I didn't want to have influences or be intimidated. Like anything creative, you just have to work at it, get lost in it, start with one idea and let it evolve into something else. That's how I approached it anyway. Regardless of what other people think of my results, I was very happy with them because I saw them take form from completely different intentions. By the end I felt like they had been "born" and every brick had a purpose for being where it was. Until I look at it the next day and change it again, lol.

I'm sorry they wouldn't help you, Phony, but I'm glad your trip wasn't for naught. When I was there, we always worked to get the customer the best deal. If something wasn't on the excluded list and you wanted to spend over $100 on a LEGO set, we sure as hell did whatever we had to do to get that sale. I know they could've worked a way around the minifigure thing, but I guess maybe they're stricter on stuff like that now, or they just didn't want to go the extra mile.

Hey, I got a bunch of series 5 figs. They had the box hiding on the floor behind the customer service counter. After I asked about the coupon I pointed to the box and asked if there were actually series 5 figs in it. The guy was like: "No. There aren't." Then I pointed out that a few of the bags were sticking out of the top. About that time the supervisor was coming by and pointed out that they randomly got a box in and handed it to me to get what I wanted. The first guy looked a little annoyed, like maybe he was hiding it or something. I only left one figure in the box when I was done. I knew it was the Cleopatra one.

Right now taking apart Seaside House for parts in my Corner Florist MOC. Those clear doors will be handy to make those refrigerators where flowers are kept.

That is why I haven't built Helms Deep yet. Cuz I know it will just make me want to make it bigger and buy more sets. It's probably my favorite part of the trilogy.

Someone has to say it: the City theme currently on the market sucks ass.

The harbour is so simple compared to the previous one. Same with the airport the police station and the firefighter station. I hope they won't fuck up the next one.

When is LEGO going to get the license to produce sets on Game of Thrones/Westeros? Sooooo many epic sets and minifigs will come out of this!! DO IT LEGO!!

I don't think Lego is ready for titties and incest. People should be able to do their own now, especially by appropriating LOTR sets.

So, we're getting TDKR sets, right? I saw it last night (it was good; nothing more, nothing less) and man, I'd kill for a 7-800 piece "Bat" airborne vehicle. Very cool.

Was watching the original V mini series the other night and thought about doing a MOC of the Visitor fighters from it. Actually, you could make them modular. The cockpit sections are identical among all the ships (fighters, tankers, troop transports), as are the tail sections.

Just make a cockpit and tail, combine them for a fighter. But build multiple sections for the middle to either make it a tanker or troop transport.

Sadly, I think I am going to have to disassemble my Imperial Shuttle to get the parts I need to pull it off. IF I do it. But I think it could be a challenging and fun MOC to make.

Hey everyone!

This is my first post on neogaf but I've been lurking this awesome thread for a long time.

I just wanted to thank Lord Error for the parts list for the Dasnewten's Sarigar model. I never would have bothered to figure out how to use bricklink or even attempt the model without that parts list.

Here are a few pics of it. Everyone that said it is hard isn't lying. A soft breeze can cause the wings to fall off. :)

Edit* Well I'll figure out flickr later. Here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/parallacs/7601312480/

Put the finishing touches on my Corner Florist MOC tonight. Not as happy with the interior details as the Cafe MOC I made, but a florist is a bit more limiting.

Corner crosswalk button and street sign.

Since I couldnt make a sign that said "Florist" without it being too huge, I made a big rose to put on the sign.

"NO! HULK NOT TAKE EXPIRED COUPONS!"

"But does Hulk not trust the Odinson?"

Rear exit.

Second floor detail.

One of those large refrigerated storage cases for bouquets.

A view from outside.

Next to my Cafe MOC.

Backside of both MOCs.

The part I was most proud of with the Corner Florist was making good, clean angles for the door and second story window. And they are extremely secure and not moving. And ZERO illegal connections too.
The interior is harder to pin down without the right pieces, and space was tight. But I think it blends in well with the other modulars buildings. Next week I will line up all the buildings I have for one big street shot.
