Anybody know what time their online store switches to the next day?

I want to say 9:00 pm PST. But I could be wrong.

So a lot folks are gunning for the Haunted House tomorrow. Me, I'm after the Republic Striker and hopefully some series 8 minifigs as long as S@H has them. Debating whether or not to bump my order up to $75 for the Monster Fighters promo set. I'm I still have my random free shipping in effect until 9/30.

Tomorrows order should get me up $300 worth of VIP points. So that's a $15 discount I'll save for Grand Emporium... or Haunted House.

It's 00:22 CET now. I had stuff in my shopping basket, and now I see the Zombie Car in it as well. I don't see a page detailing how much you need to buy in order to qualify for the Zombie Car yet though.

Haunted Mansion can be added now as well.

Pondering making two orders - one with Minecraft and some smaller stuff; and another with the Haunted Mansion. But did someone say double VIP points in October?

Edit: Oh hey, a bunch of new stuff popped up on the NL store. Business Card holder, Pencil Holder, Halloween Set, Rock Band set, Card Making Kit, Villa Savoye, Witch, Minifigures 8. Dammit. This is going to be expensive.

Is there any online database showing all the minifigs over the years? I have a bunch Id like to see what they are supposed to look like as the came originally.

Is there a limit to the amount of VIP points you can have? If not can I get a free set with enough points?

I am praying for double VIP in October along with an overlap with free shipping like they had in March. I must be strong and wait. Reading about people that are snagging Haunted House this weekend will be torturous. But I deserve it for all the financial pain I have helped to inflict on others in here. It is karma.

Yes you do and yes it is.

No limit that I am aware of. And yes, you can get a free set with just points - that's how I paid for R2-D2.

I think you have a two year time limit on the points though. So spend them within that time frame. The dollar amount is limitless though.

No shit. I blame you!

How are the VIP points actually set up and how much do you get when they are redeemed?
Considering tax and shipping, about what kind of effective discount does it lead to?

Essentially you get 5% back. It adds the points to your account and you accumulate them. Double VIP is obviously 10%. Part of the fun is building it up into a stockpile then getting a hefty discount on something.

It may not sound like much, but it is a fun system, and good when ordering exclusive sets.

FREE Shipping on orders of $75 or more from S@H, Sept 1st – 21st.

Urgh. That is the straw that broke the camel's back. Guess I will be using my credit card and nearly hitting my limit to get Haunted House. Double VIP points be damned, free shipping saves me more.

Thanks. And by "thanks" I mean "damn you!"

Hug me.

We need to start a support group.

A Haunted House support group.

Members 1 and 2, right here.

Please let there be more show up! We can't do this alone!

I hate this thread! Actually, no, my wallet hates this thread. I gotta put this on my CC now.

Yeah, I think you're right.

Be strong, brother. I wish my wife wanted to build Legos. Luckily she at least doesn't mind me building them.

My wife doesn't mind me building. I think she is happy to see me be happy about anything lately. Lego is one of the few things I am happy about in life right now. And it is flexing my creative muscles as well. Lord knows I have let my art background go to waste. At least I can get some of it out with plastic bricks.

Fuck it I really should just buy the Haunted House. I see I will get the zombie car free on lego store! I think I might have ten bucks on my card too. But man its hard because I've never spent so much on lego before.

I have $20 in VIP credit right now. Might use it on the Haunted House, but still want to save up to make the bite of the inevitable SSD purchase sting less.

I hate all of you with Lego stores in your area. I am so jealous, but also thankful I don't have one here. I would go broke so quickly. Hell, I am already broke with ordering online and random sets at Target and other stores. It would just be worse at a Lego Store.

The Lego North American headquarters are only 30 minutes from me here in CT. Why is there no store?

It's convenient when I'm craving a set that's harder to get or starting to become rare

Speaking of Target, anyone interested in 30201 may want to check them out later this weekend, as Target apparently has started putting this poly in the Halloween section.

Oh, and there is a 15% coupon for regular customers and a 20% coupon for members at bn this weekend. They had all the Monster Fighter sets (except a haunted house of course ) in store, so that is a good discount. And if anyone wants Architecture sets they carry them all.

Thoughts on Attack on Weathertop, anyone?
Awesome. Great mini figs, especially since it is the only way to get Aragorn and Ringwraiths. Also a nice small display piece. To top it off, you get a good amount of neat pieces for mocs.

Cant find links online, but my wife and I both got emails with the coupons.

TRU has a $5 off a purchase of $25 or more, but conveniently it is when they have some $ off a Lego purchase, which means the coupon is bunk.

I'm a bit similar with LEGO. I hardly do ANY creative activities, so when I started LEGO again it was really great.

Even better than doing the sets I've found is making MOCs. The first one I made was a mini-modular version of the rare Lego Store set (since I didn't eant to open the one I got). Then I kept going with that theme and made a mini-modular Pet Shop based on a photo of one online (only photo of the front, and no instructions!).
The next one I made was another mini-modular of the Town Hall set. There is a really good one on flickr that I recreated, but I found out that it is too short to be the correct scale of an "official" mini-modular. It took me a long time, but I think I finally created a great looking version of it that is the correct height.

Now I just just have to Bricklink the correct colored pieces and I'll have a complete set of Mini-Modulars. But it really is satisfying working within the constraints of LEGO pieces and trying to build something of your own. It's amazing just how long it takes to figure out what you need to do and find the right pieces to use, even with those tiny little buildings I made. It's especially hard to miniaturize large sets like that; I've got a lot of respect for the designer(s) that put all the official ones together so well.
