My haul from the AFOL early opening at Stratford this morning. 15% off meant I got R2, the 2012 Advent calendar and Bespin planet for just over £150. My VIP points are now worth about £50 which means the B-wing is looking a lot more reasonable.

I stayed up to midnight to order my Haunted House last night! After tax it came out to about $200. I can't wait to put it together. Halloween is the best time of the year!

Speaking of Target, anyone interested in 30201 may want to check them out later this weekend, as Target apparently has started putting this poly in the Halloween section.

Awesome - thanks for the heads up, I will have to hunt that down, and thanks for letting me know which section to find it in as well ^_^

You got that right! So glad I finished up Christmas shopping last month. I had a feeling LEGO would be the reason why all my money would be gone during the months of Sept-Dec.

Good news everyone! I'm spending the morning putting together the Farsworth House :)

I think maybe you did something there. I hear that set name in my head in "that voice" whenever I see it.

I built the first floor of Fire Brigade yesterday. It was amazing...I loved the hunting aspect. No more bag by bag building for me.

Love the detail in the set so far.

That set is an okay build. You will get VERY tired of laying down so many 1x1 white tiles. On the plus side, you get tons of 1x1 white tiles to use later. Along with a lot of window pieces, which were helpful in my last MOC. The interior detail of the Farnsworth House is pretty cool though, but sadly the set is kind of bland looking once done.

Just wait until the second floor.

Damn, where did you find out about that? Were all Lego stores doing it, or just Stratford?

Edit: shit, was all Lego stores.

I completely agree. I'm don with it now. It looks okay on its own but looks much better next to the Falling Water I did a while ago.

theres a lot of dead space on the platform and I was missing a square roof tile so I had to use 4 1x1s for one square :

For the other side of the equation, I find the set to be one of the most crisp looking architecture sets I own. It's very clean and has some excellently creative building design going on. :P

It is crisp. And the interior detail is cool. But it just looks bland next to some other sets. It is a big improvement over Rockefeller Center and some of the skyscraper sets though.

At the Lego store. I can confirm October double VIP.
Confirm an overlap of that and free shipping and I will wait on haunted house.

My favourite for building - mini modulars

My favourite for looks - Imperial shuttle

My favourite set for building enjoyment and looks - VW Camper

Love the lighting here.

Picked up the Haunted House and the 2012 City Advent Calendar at the Lego store today. The Rock Band and Halloween minifig sets should be in-store later this week.

FYI for the Canadians: Costco is selling a few Lego items including the City Advent calendar. I think it is $29.99. Two small Star Wars sets (Ewok Attack and some Jedi lady ship thing) are $26.99.

Thought I'd share as I never see Lego at that store...

Also, speaking with the LEGO store manager, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter are officially gone from their inventory, though they can still special order a set in if its still on S@H.

Oh man, I'd be all over the Advent calendar if they had it here. I passed on the Ewok set as it wasn't a massive discount and is kind of a weak set all around.

Costco here also had some Duplo sets for $18 or so (Zoo and Farm sets) as well as some Lego City vehicles for the same price - ambulance, fire truck, and a garbage truck I think.

Meant if there would be another free shipping week in October like they did last double VIP days. Now I am debating about haunted house now. The extra VIP points then would be about the cost of shipping, so it is a wash.

Well, September nets you a promo set, while October has none, so if that helps...

Just got the new catalog today.

Again, no fire brigade. Modulars shown are GE, Town Hall, and Pet Shop.

And, the Death Star is still Listed.

I received the Fall 2012 LEGO Catalog in the mail today. Back cover has another 10% in-store purchase coupon, just like the Summer 2012 catalog. Also, a lot of the combo packs (I.e Jamba's Palace & Desert Skiff) are eligible for double points through the catalog promo.

Picked up the Haunted House today. No Halloween set in yet which means I'll be going back.

Kind of bummed they didn't have any VIP Minifig Sets left and I had called at the beginning of the week and they claimed to have some.

Is there a reason the Winter Cottage isn't on the October calender?

Damn, we need PICTURES of all those. Especially the A-Wing!

So now I have a dilemma... do I spend the $140 I have set aside for the import of the Japanese Ys IV PS Vita game OR spend it on the LEGO Old Republic Collection (#9500 & #9497) now to get Free Shipping, Double VIP points and the Zombie Car?!

Ugh... indecision!

Looking at the price of the A-Wing, I fear it's going to be a really shitty little set and not. Z-95 is alot more expensive and it's not a much bigger sized fighter at all.

75003 A-wing Starfighter
Admiral Ackbar, Han Solo & A-wing Pilot
Price: €29.99

Hmm, only 30? Though the A-Wing is a smaller ship, I do hope it has the same kind of build as the X-Wing/Y-Wing/Tie-Fighter that's currently out. Actually, thinking about it, I don't think we need to worry.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey sets (spoilers for movie/book):

79000 Cave Gollum – € 13.99
79001 Spiders of Mirkwood Forest – € 31.49
79002 Attack of the Wargs – € 59.99
79003 An Unexpected Gathering – € 79.99
79004 Escape in the Barrels - € ??.??
79010 The Battle Against the King of the Goblins – €99.99

I think its an incomplete list, as we are missing sets 79005 through 79009.

Well the A-wing is just a redesign of the previous two sets, which were similarly priced right? Looks like it will be $25 or $30 USD, which goes along with the now standard price increase for Star Wars stuff.

Hmm, Brickipedia lists
79003 An Unexpected Gathering
for $60 US, 20 under the € price.
Incorrect listing or are the Euro LEGO fans getting screwed?

I can't wait to see those sets, though. I doubt I'll get 79000 since it probably has duplicate minifigs (
Bilbo and Gollum I would assume, I have the Shelob set already for Gollum and I want the BagEend set which will have Bilbo
).
It also looks like my guess of where the Hobbit movies will end and start looks correct. :)
