So awesome. Oh and I'm sorry for kinda stealing your idea but your jungle themed mech was so nice I had to try to create my own. So here is my Ent Mech. I call him Bark-1000.

Ha. I thought something looked familiar as I was casually scrolling through. And steal away, dude! I've no qualms with that at all. Looking swish. Unfortunately, my guy had to bite the dust in order for the Elite Knight to take shape, but his memory lives on in photos.

I got the ghost and grandfather clock to go with my haunted house. These are only available at Target. Most stores should have them, but they are in the backroom. There's suppose to be stocked when the Halloween displays get put up. Just ask nicely and give the employee this DPCI #: 204-00-0544 to have them get it from the back.

I was just beside a target Friday and didn't even think to go in and look. Going to the store is the only way I can get one of these right?

As far as I know, yep. I pick one up every time I go to Target, so I have about 5 for now. :D

Speaking of, does anyone know where to get the coffin car? My TRU doesn't have it so far.

Toys r Us is having another of their deceptive "sales." The email says 30% off all Star Wars Lego. I click it all excitedly to see how cheap that makes the ssd. Well, apparently the sale is a coupon code off the regular price, and tru has conveniently set most of the great sets at 5-10% off so they don't qualify. In fact, many are still above msrp.

I despise their duplicitous coupons and ads so much. It almost makes me never want to buy from them because of how misleading they are most of the time. However, they do occasionally have great sales that are not confusing.

On the positive side, even though the huge sets like the SSD, Imperial Shuttle, and Death Star are not 30% off, they are 10% off right now. Which is a good deal. They even have the b wing listed at 10% off on the site, but not in stock for obvious reasons.

So, Nicoga, I know you were waiting for double VIP for Death Star. But this sale nets you the set at $360 right now. So it is either a discount now, or a discount later.

I saw that...I am in a tough spot now! The savings would be nice, but I'm trying to decide if tax would make it a better deal now vs later. :/

E: Also, I have my 10% off coupon still for LEGO store. I could use that to get the Death Star there AND get VIP points still. Decisions...

anybody have a link to the September lego store calender?

Rumors are flying fast and furious regarding 2013 sets. We should be seeing the first set images in the next few weeks, but in the interim this is what is shaping up:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles looks like it will indeed be the next licensed theme, starting in January?

Lone Ranger could be the following licensed theme for Summer 2013, as part of the overall Disney-LEGO agreement.

Legends of Chima could be the next big "action" theme from LEGO. Rumors are that the characters will sport animal heads and will have vehicles that can be powered by ripcords.

Ninjago isn't dead yet, with at least sets for the 1st half of 2013 in the works.

What was originally thought to be a Polar exploration theme "Polar Express" is actually a space theme "Galaxy Squad" which seems to involve space marines who go to hostile planets (one of them being an Ice Planet).

The City theme is going back to firefighters again, with a new station, fire truck, etc, including a "residential house on fire" - that could be interesting. Also keeping up with the LEGO City police state, there may be a new SWAT subtheme, which includes a "museum heist" set. Hmmmm...

It won't be much longer until these rumors are either debunked or validated.

Jamie Berard may have let slip a hint regarding the next modular building. Responding (which happens rarely) to a post on the official LEGO message boards, Jamie was asked several questions, one of which was:

What's the next Modular Buildings set? I don't think you'll answer this one, it has to be a secret :-)

Jamie's response was interesting:

We have lots of secrets that we have to keep. Don’t tell anyone this secret, but I’m not a very good cook. I once managed to burn soup!

Wow, a homeless shelter is an odd choice.

If Lego wants to get me really jazzed, they need to bring back the traditional black/yellow Blacktron theme but use modern building techniques. That would be amazing.

So they will do space marines.

Or make a neo-classic space theme.

Western and Space sets. I approve.

Chances that the space marines will look like this is pretty high I guess:

I keep reading Chima as China and thinking it's going to be romance of the three kingdoms or journey to the west.

The space marines may look like this actually:

These both may interest me. Of course I will need to finish getting all the sets I wanted from 2011 and 2012 first.

And very yes.

A restaurant as the new modular? I can dig it.

I'm still not sold on a TMNT theme. Though a Western and Space theme will be awesome. Look forward to seeing what they are.

Not sure if any site has found out yet, but I can confirm the current plan is for Ninjago to be dead at the end of 2013. I assume those sets will be the last ones.

Interesting. I guess they would rather see it go out while still popular, then drag it on.

Soooo.... any other confirmations/comments you can lend to the other rumors?

They could just be planning ahead, as most kids shows of that demo only last for a few years, so they might be expecting its decline or already seeing it happening.

The pictures aren't as nice as my other pictures (Sold my 5d2 for the time being, so I am stuck on a really, really cheap Micro 4/3 setup with old manual focus lenses), but it gets the point across.

I really like the whole setup. Sure, I added two Uruk-Hal Army sets, but it really comes together with all of the extra minifigs. Add another 6 or 10 minifigs, and it would look absolutely stunning. Now, where do I put it?

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but the results for the Summer Review of CUUSOO sets is suppose to be coming in a few weeks.
Theses sets are the:
-Modular Western Town
-Zelda
-Back to the Future
-Eve Online Ship

The Fall review deadline has also finished, so hopefully by the end of the year we'll find out the results for:
-Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover
-UCS Sandcrawler
-Thinking with Portals

Personally I think the ones with the highest likelihood of passing are the Western Town and the Curiosity Rover. Western Town has no licensing issues to hold it back. The Rover seems in-line with past CUUSOO sets since there have been 2 already for scientific vehicles/equipment.

I'm not sure what the odds are for the UCS Sandcrawler since a massive UCS set would take a lot of effort to make and develop, but I could imagine them making it after the SSD is retired.

I'd love it if the Portal set gets made. Valve seems like a cool company that would want to have sweet swag like a LEGO set, so it seems like the ball is in LEGO's court as far as that is concerned.

I bolded what I hope wins these, but I think it's more likely to be Back to the Future and Mars Curiosity Rover or Portal 2. Really, I just hope the Mars rover doesn't win. It's weird that while I love NASA and space exploration, I find the Hayabusa set and the Mars rover set underwhelming as LEGO sets.

Sounds like we may get a neat restaurant/??? for the next modular? Could be cool!

Also, I love playing catchup in this thread after a full day of running around. Always so much exciting and fun stuff to read!

Grabbed the Grand Emporium yesterday at the LEGO store. I decided I'm going to wait until double VIP + birthday gift card(s) to buy my Death Star. I feel like that's the way to go on that behemoth.

Just started getting back into LEGO myself, started with a small Kingdom set (Escape from Dragon's Prison) I picked up from the local B&N and I've since bought the Minecraft set, Castle's (Medieval Market Village), the last two "Winter" themed sets (To build with my girlfriend and put out for Christmas. And my biggest purchase (Haunted House) is on the way from the LEGO shop now... I am officially re-addicted to one of my favorite things to do as a child. (I want the entire Creator Modular series but at $150 they are expensive to collect!)

I wish there were more Kingdom/Castle sets, I thought I'd lust after the LoTR sets more than I do (The set pieces just don't seem as cool as the Kingdom/Castle series). Eventually I want to get the Joust set before it goes OOP so that will be next after the newest "Winter" set coming out in October.

Amazing photography bro great job!

I would like to see a 1000+ piece remake of the Sandcrawler, but I want it to be in the main theme, and not UCS.

Unsurprisingly, I am hoping for the Modular Western Town for the Summer Review, and the Curiosity Rover for the Fall.
