With all the sets that have been sold in this thread, LEGO should be giving at least some of us some kind of compensation...

Speaking of which, did anyone get one of these in the mail? You have to be a top-25 spender at your local LEGO store.

Gee, I wonder why I didn't get any vouchers.

I may still try and make my way to the Lego store since Brick Friday is confirmed for the UK despite Black Friday not being a thing here.

There was a special AFOL day today at the store but I have thing to do. Also that special Christmas set will coincide with Brick Friday so I thought it best to save my money till then.

Wow, 79003 is unexpected reason. But 79010 shows, once again, that the injection mold process inflates prices way too much. Those are USD prices right? Because 69.99 with 752 pieces is under $0.10 per element! Rare for a licensed set.

Not sure if I'll bother with any of the hobbit sets, definitely skipping riddles of the ring.

Depends whether it's cheaper to buy the minifigs outright than getting all the sets.

From TRU Black Friday ad.

So, is that 40% off all Lego, or just sets they choose? Knowing TRU, it is select sets that were already marked up. And if it is all lego, they will find a way to make it NOT work on the big sets.

Hogwarts for $42?! So. Want. Wish we had Black Friday here :-(

I like the smaller Hogwarts set a lot more than the big one, actually. The large Hogwarts has some good foundations for mocs I plan to exploit, but it's not a great display piece. It's not even a good playset compared to newer playsets.

its price and space for me. I'm moving into an apartment soon and I really won't have all that much space. But damn, seeing that Xwing picture up there and that assembly video posted a few pages back of the death star...sheeeeeeyit.

Then I go on the lego website and torture myself looking at all of the city sets with all the police stuff and I found a custom set of zombie minifigs on a website and all I think of is acting out the stories/books I write in my spare time. If I started buying the small stuff, within weeks I'd be blowing money on the $50-$80 sets.

Maybe if black friday is good to me :P

Speaking of, is black friday ever good for Lego stuff?

The Lego Stores here in America won't be having any sales, all we are doing is giving scratch tickets to the customers when they come up to the register. You can either get a %10, %20, or %50 off your entire purchase. Every store gets a different amount of %50 off tickets, my store is getting 5.

When is brick Friday, and what are lego UK doing?

My birthday is on the 29th and i'm thinking of going with Haunted House for my next set as a bday present to myself. I would get it on brickfriday of course for any promos and free shipping. I was thinking Haunted House because I like the Monster Fighters set but don't need the Fighters or vehicles or such. I just like the theme and the monsters and you get ghosts, zombie, vampires and frankenbutler with HH in a really beautiful set. I might pickup the mummy and werewolf sets so I can stick them in the house. Also i'm thinking if these are going oop at the end of the year HH will be a valuable set to have. I do like the Ghost Train, it keeps reminding me of the Phantom Train from FF and Sabin suplexing it. I just wish it was a little cheaper without the plane. And I might get the Vampyre Hearse to park in front of the HH.

Past that i'm looking at the Arkham set and then will wait on the new LoTR sets and hope they are good. I'm glad I got my christmas shopping done over the summer, going to have bypass some good video game deals for HH but I think I will enjoy it.

Argos in the UK have 3 for 2 on all toys, including lego, but only until tomorrow.

I've got the quinjet, Ninjago epic dragon and helms deep reserved. But amazon have the quinjet for £50 which is a great price, and I've already got one helms deep (thought a second one would be good for expansion). So I'm considering cancelling and buying the quinjet on its own. What do you think?

Epic dragon would probably be for my daughters birthday next June so plenty of time for sales.

Edit: my birthday on the 29th too! I'm giving myself a wiiU as a present, but might finally build one of my backlog sets.

The LEGO S@H Brick Fridays deals will likely not be posted until the 20th or 21st. Hopefully we get a picture of the Holiday Promo set as well by then.

The awesomest people are born on 29th. Someone pointed out something disturbing to me a couple months ago about my birthday I never really thought about. If you trace back 9 months when you are born in Nov. you are most likely the result of a Valentine's Day fling. So yea, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I'm interested in seeing what they may discount but i'm just happy with free S&H and the free holiday set. I got my Santa mini fig to display.

I was batting around the idea of going with a combo Vampyre's Castle/Winter Village Cottage instead but I would feel bad for not picking up the Winter sets and I really want something I can display all year long.

Just built the modular bakery with pieces I have. :D

But one does notice that the newer modulars have more to offer.

Three for two sounds like a sweet deal to me.

Finally finished disassembling Fire Brigade. Now all 4 of my modulars are sorted and ready to rebuild. I plan to start the time lapse build on Wednesday. I am curious as to how long this build will take.

The Fred Meyer near me (Washington state) had the LEGO Hobbit sets in stock.

Was VERY tempted to pick up Bad End, but it's really pricey and will hopefully be on sale in a few weeks (at least a BOGO sale or something).

WHAT THEY'RE OUT? OH MY GOD.

...I still only have shelob and gandalf arrives from lotr :(

Anyone gotten the Winter Cottage? Think I'm going to get it for a nice seasonal display piece next to my tree. Also, is the Winter post office or bakery a good build?

We are doing the same thing, but not starting until December 1st as we are keeping the Halloween sets up for a bit.

IMO, Bakery is better than Post Office.

I have all the three winter sets you just named. We just built the bakery tonight. It was a cool build. 2 to go.

Im finishing up Grand Emporium and I think I encountered a messed up piece. In the book it shows that there should be a hole on the top of the flower-thing but as you can see there isnt one.

I think two others in this thread have had the same problem.

They have obviously changed the mold for that piece. If you want a quick fix while waiting for the corrected piece, you could put a round 1x1 brick through the spout piece, then attach the flower to the end of it. It will stick out of the building more, but it will work.

Damn, the apple house is one of the ones I'd want too...too bad I'm in Canada bu I also have work that day! :(

DONE! Hot Damn this thing looks impressive fully built. I can't wait to start on the Fire Brigade!! The first floor was definitely the best part, the 2nd and third were a bit repetitive however the chandelier and roof/sign were obvious standouts.

Now I just have to find a spot to put this thing...

I just used a knife and cut the hole myself.

THE MODULAR BUG WINS AGAIN!

And let us know about your Fire Brigade impressions. Everyone here knows how much I hype it up. Grand Emporium looks better on display, but Fire Brigade is a better build overall.

And I am chipping away at typing up the OT for when we hit 20k posts. Saving a text file so I have it ready to go at a moment's notice.

Oooh! I'll have to do that. I just didn't put that flower piece on at all.

We just finished watching the final episode of Ninjago. They managed to fit in all the 2013 sets (during the last 5 eps) in some rather dark content. Roughly 30 episodes in total and its been a fun ride - my son can't wait for the new sets to come out.

How did you get to see it already? There was an ad on cartoon network stating that there would be two more episodes for this season starting this Wednesday and then next Wednesday. Are you outside the U.S. or what?! :)

I just want to make sure that I don't miss it so my son can see the last episodes!

No worries - episode 25 airs this week on CN.

Wait, based on what you said about roughly 30 episodes, does that mean that we (my son and I) have approximately 5-6 episodes to go for this season and the series itself?!!

No, I'm counting the first pilot "season" as two episodes - in some markets it was aired as two episodes and in others it was a singular movie.

Season 2 starts with episode 1 again with "Rise of the Snakes" and ends with episode 26, so to be accurate there are a total of 28 episodes.

So you've only got two more episodes, and that is it.
