Local supermarket (Albert Heijn in the Netherlands) has this on sale from Monday onwards -

7208 - Fire Station http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=7208-1

45 euros instead of 70.

Any thoughts on this set? I don't have a fire truck yet, and the parts seem useful for building a small store. Not sure what I can do with the garage door pieces though.

Dat second floor! Oh wait, wrong fire station...

Tru price matched Sebulba Podracer. They didn't believe it, but they matched it. They had two sets. I almost grabbed both, but I didn't want to deny anyone else a good deal on it.

Was coming to post this as well. Manager couldn't believe it either. Been wanting this set for a while.

I was indifferent to it, but for $30 I cannot say no. Still kinda wish I grabbed the second one while I was there, but I would feel guilty about it. But yeah, got some Star Wars goodness for later now.

The Tie Fighter is worth it at that price. It's a bit of a boring build (since the two wings are identical), and that combined with the piece count I feel is probably not worth it at retail price. But at a discount I'd definitely recommend it. Same for the Pod Racer set; at $30 I'd say go for it if you can get it, but to be honestly I didn't really like the build all that much, and the set's so-so completed IMO. But if nothing else it'd be worth $30 for the pieces (I think I paid $40ish for mine).

Finished the pod racers. Pretty cool sets (SO MUCH SNOT WORK!), but overall something I would not pay full price for. Well worth the $30, if just for the parts. So many nice little detail parts to use later in buildings. And now I have tubing so I can try to make wrap around signs like on Grand Emporium!

The minifigs alone are worth about $35 on Bricklink.

I finally managed to finish off a few projects I've been stalling on for a while now.

First up is my Pirates of the Carribean Ikea frame..

I still need to get a couple of the small brown old style pistols for a few of the characters, I obviously couldn't fit all the minifigs from POTC in the frames so I went for a combination of the most known characters and the most interesting minifigs.

Second I got around to painting the brown for the last 2 Camo Tumblers, unfortunately I ran out of the more reddish brown I used on the last 3 and (which was very close to LEGOs Reddish Brown, only lighter) when I went to go buy more I found out that I can't get it ANYWHERE anymore, I bought that colour a year or so back and it turns out that the factory that makes it burnt down :(

So instead I had to go with the same dark brown I used in the original Camo tumbler I made for myself a few years ago (it's the one in the middle below). I was never happy with that colour as I thought it was too dark but it was all I could get.

Fortunately it's actually slightly lighter than my first darker one so they must have changed the colour slightly. I'm tempted to keep one of the new ones and sell off my original as I've gotten much better\cleaner at doing the paint jobs since I made it.

Here's a quick comparison with the old original first and the new one second, it's not really apparent in the photos but the tan base colour is also much lighter on the original than the new ones.

Toys R Us here had this weekend promo - get a coupon worth 50% of whatever you spent. I got Shuttle Expedition (it's wrapped and waiting for Christmas) and now have a 45€ coupon. To those that have it, is Sopwith Camel as cool as it looks on pics/videos? Fun build? I'm really tempted to get it (I've been also wanting Winter Village Cottage, but they don't have it at the store, unfortunately).

Done a couple of pieces with the Wee man in the last couple of weeks.

Pudsey is cute. My kids had an argument over who built him. My daughter won, but she wasn't allowed to show my son. Now I have to break him up so he can build it.

I also appear to have built up a rather large backlog of presents for my daughter and can't work out how to spread them out. I have three Dino sets and the Ninjago ultimate battle set. That's along with wonder book. In comparison my so hasn't asked for anything, plus in theory they weren't getting much because they got my iPad 2 as a hand me down.

Should I go with all the Dino sets and hold off on Ninjago for next birthday (June)? Or the other way round. Or pull out the dinos and give her those plus Ninjago, and siphon the spare pieces straight into the collection?

My son hasn't asked for anything, but perhaps he could have one of my helms deeps, or the quinjet

Hey, I found your tumbler instructions online a while back and ordered myself a bunch of parts from Bricklink, have the black Tumbler sitting on my desk at work now!

Just wanted to say thanks for making those instructions available. You rock.

Holy shit, how much did the parts cost you? I really want to make one too lol.
