AJUMP23

Parody of actual AJUMP23

Key Features

  • Feel the FellowshipExperience the Fellowship of the Dwarves like never before, with the rich lore of the iconic fantasy world from J.R.R. Tolkien interwoven into the very fabric of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.
  • Survive the Dark – To survive the treacherous Mines of Moria players must conserve resources, hunt, and gather for food and manage their sleep, temperature, and noise levels. Utilize dynamic light systems for safety and to blaze a path further into the darkness. Battle unspeakable evils and survive hordes of monstrous Orcs in visceral combat, while uncovering the secret of the Shadow that looms within the mountain.
  • Base Building – Find solace from the darkness. Reveal and clear new locations to create architecture on a grand scale. Get creative and construct bases from scratch or build upon the existing environment. Beware the evils which seek to destroy Dwarven progress.
  • Rebuild and Reshape Moria – Restore the long-lost ancient kingdom of Khazad-dum to its former glory, recovering Dwarven landmarks as the story progresses. Resurrect old mines and refire their forges to yield their untouched resources.
  • Explore – Delve into the depths of the Mines of Moria. Procedurally generated environments are abundant with resources and fraught with mystery and danger, providing a unique experience each and every time.
  • Co-op MultiplayerAdventure alone or band together with friends in online cooperative multiplayer with up to eight players.
  • Craft Dwarven Tools, Weapons and More – Craft and loot legendary Dwarven armor, tools, weapons and structures. Rebuild ancient forges to strengthen, repair and enchant gear. Upgrade and unlock new technologies and fantastical machines.
  • Uncover Magic Artifacts – Discover ancient magic items including swords that glow when Orcs are near, maps of long-dormant Mithril veins, books with forgotten crafting plans and amulets that give strength or wisdom.
  • Mine Ore and Jewels – Establish mines to unearth deposits of precious resources such as iron, gold, and quartz; and fantastical materials such as Mithril. Access crafting stations and forges to convert ore to ingots and upgrade gear. But be prepared, mining is loud and can awaken what lurks in the darkness.
  • Comprehensive Dwarf Builder – Players become part of Dwarven Legend as they create their own Dwarf in the custom character creator. Dwarves can be customized in a variety of ways to create a unique Dwarven identity. Then, during gameplay, players can find and craft armor and weapons to further enhance their unique style

Not sure how good this will actually be when it comes out but I do enjoy attempting a different direction for the ip. Middle-Earth is such a rich world, focusing on the different races can be cool rather than characters like y'know...Gollum.
Now give me the Hobbit party management Sim where we keep the Sackville-Bagginses from stealing our stuff!

I mean....it doesn't look bad. But it looks like some random indie game chasing the survival crafting trend that just happens to have LOTR in the name.

How is the Lord of The Rings IP valuable enough to get a 1 fucking billion dollar TV show from Amazon....but on the gaming front we get this and Gollum?

A great LOTR game, it would be based on inspiration to Dark souls

i thought about this game years ago

souls style game. your gandalf fighting the balrog from the lowest dungeon to the highest mountain. have other bosses and stuff to fight along the way. lots of dungeons, towers, hellscapes and icy tundras, hell any environemnt you could think of. magic, melee, skill trees and collectibles, etc.

its been like a dream game of mine for years now

I do think that the interest in these smaller games may drive someone with more money to create something great later on. This is the kind of market research low risk companies like right? See what everyone else is doing first.

I want a Battle For Middle Earth 3, or at least a digital re-release of 2.
A Souls like would be cool too, or just a more traditional RPG. Wouldn't be opposed to more action focused games like the Shadow of Mordor ones either, but this time with nicer environments and a plot that doesn't feel like bad fanfic.

I'm not opposed to different ideas either. This game here seems pretty fun, it's just a shame all recent projects feel so low budget

Survival crafting games are going to crush over the next 10 years. Honestly, it's the chosen one genre at this point.

Sure.
But as I said, I wish the LOTR IP was used to give us a high budget AAA survivial crafting game instead of something that looks like it's not even on the same tier as Deep Rock Galactic.

I'm with you to a point. I just want the game to be good and do something new/interesting in the survival genre. Having something that looks like TLoU2 would be nice but it's much lower on my concern list. They kinda have to go with what they got in terms of budget and team size.

Someone needs to slap these devs so they'll stop trying to be the next minecraft with their stupid survival games.

Between this and the gollum game, WTF happened to the LOTR licence? Are they handing it out with every cereal purchase?

I don't know if it's my idea, but Dragon Dogma has always seemed like a LOTR game or very inspired

It looks really boring, but that’s just my first impression. I was hoping for something more? I was excited before I clicked the trailer.

Seems stupid on paper (no matter the brand attached, do we need another survival crafting game?), but the look of it does feel a little different with it all being in a mine. So, I don't know, another game somebody else can have that I'll never play, but I don't scoff that it exists after seeing it in action.

I am sick and tired of retreaded lore from franchises that are long past their prime. Goto a book store and you can easily find dozens that are worthy of given a try. Maybe Nightbreed, maybe Hitchhikers Guide, just throwing out ideas since this industry fcking has none.

Might be one of the few, but I'm certainly interested in this one. I like the idea of exploring Moria in great detail, and since I always end up building Dwarrowdelf in Minecraft, I love the prospect of rebuilding it properly.

Am I crazy or does anyone else think this looks good? I don't know what the posters above me are smoking.

I think it's those diffrent strokes for diffrent folks kinda thing.

I am not a huge fan of survival games, the only two I have ever enjoyed have been Subnautica and Grounded which both fall within this very specific subgenre of having an actual preset map with set pieces and a narrative. I believe there is a good chance that this game will be closer to one of those than the standard more generic survival games.

So until it becomes apparent that its not one of these, I'm quite excited.

Is it too much to ask for an Aragorn based third person adventure game? Fuck me
An awesome kind of game that fits perfect for LOTR is the sandbox Battle Simulators. You got shit loads of different monsters and heroes to choose from, so do what you want in different maps to see who wins.
