Why do you have to be so Canadian, Jotaro?
What does canadian means? In this case, Frederick Back has done the movie in Quebec, he comes from Germany, and has done it with the cooperation of the "canadian" NFB ministry founds and stuff. Oh come on, a couple of GAFers have seen it I just know! There are canadian GAFers, and CBC and Radio-Canada made it play many, many times! My father showed me the VHS tape, which had all Back's movies (save for The Mighty River). He is a God, best thing to happen for the NFB with McLaren.
Canadian GAFers, come tell everyone this movie is magical! It's like, if you saw a living impressionist painting! The way every single frame is drawned by hand (Back's hand) takes a long while but the result is mesmerising. The characters emotions are displayed oh-so well, and the colors, temperatures, wonderful forests are depicted with an unmatched perfection. Back won an Oscar for this, as he did for Crac earlier (also a gem, it always makes me smile). Come one, some canucks have seen it, Foreign Jackass? Boogie? Mike Works? Socreges? Malakov? jenov4? I summon you all into this thread, it's like being stoned without using drugs!
And it's the most beautiful picture ever. The story is heart-warming.
(Back should have won that oscar for The Mighty River, it depicted human treatment of America, of it's natives, of it's settlers, and of nature, of the magnificent St-Lawrence river, like nothing ever did)

My parents only allowed me to watch PBS when I was little.
I'm sure they showed it a few times, you probably missed the broadcasts tough, which is a shame.
