The Matrix 5 on the way

I liked the fourth. Let the abuse begin.

I loved the music and the "concept", on the paper. But its execution was terrible. That same idea ,even the same plot, made by talented people could have been great.

I liked the sequels, IMO they are underrated just because they couldn't live up to the impossible expectations set by the first movie. However, the plot goes exactly where a good sequel should go. Again, they failed in their execution.

The Matrix as a concept, world, and overall setting definitely has the potential for more (worthwhile) stories. Isn't Neo like the sixth One? That's five prior "versions," of the Matrix that you could pull entirely different characters and locations from. Make a film (or two, fuck it) of The Animatrix's Second Renaissance - I'm picturing like Terminator: Salvation but written with more depth and emergent ideas for the viewer.

Make a movie in the interim between 3 and 4, use the best elements from the story of The Matrix: Online and have a good writer build a compelling narrative around it. Make a movie about Exiles - could be Merovingian related or completely separate, but it's good grounds for a protagonist with "powers," who isn't framed in the same messiah archetype The Matrix is so fond of.

I'm not even saying another film or three with Neo and...Trinity (was gonna say the original cast, but that's basically all there is in the canon of 4), just CRAFT IT LIKE YOU AREN'T STUFFING A HIGHSCHOOL ESSAY WITH BULLSHIT TO MEET A WORD COUNT.

The cave:

This was the only worthwhile part of the 4th movie. Neo slowly realising he was trapped in an invisible prison. Again

Wasn't really a fan of the rest. Altough the bots concept was a cool idea, that kind of went nowhere. other than making people trying to dive bomb a bike

Maybe a fresh start and new story is needed. (The second is mostly manageable, with a few cool ideas and set pieces. The rest are a stain on the classic that is the first)

The Matrix is one of the best franchises i've ever known. I love the first three movies, besides their problems, i think they are unique and deserve all the praise.
The fourth one, hmmm... I was extremely hyped and loved the interactive site they made, but man the movie under delivered.

There are so many cool things you can do in that universe, so much potential. I think they need to steer away from stereotypes and cliches with the story.

4 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was fucking embarrassing.
For real. It's one of the only times i've gotten secondhand embarrassment from watching a movie. Pure distilled cringe.

Drew Goddard is a good writer though. I've been a fan of his since his Buffy days.

I liked the sequels, and the 4th film. It had its problems (no actual Smith) but it was one of those films that I feel was made just for me.

That said, I completely understand those who didn't like it. And I'm not sure I want a 5.

I thought the 4th movie was better than 3. Why bother making a Matrix movie where it's a bunch of people fighting robots in the real world? Then again I enjoyed Sense8 and was disappointed it got cancelled so maybe I like the sisters work more than most.
1st movie is still by far the best - I was fortunate to see it at the movie theater when it first came out without knowing anything about the movie at all.
