The Notebook

I thought this was about a notebook computer.

You know what else will make you cry? When you drop bricks on your balls. When you drop bricks. on. your. balls...

Mr. Spinnington, I was just talking to my friend about this movie.

One of my favorite movies ever. I have a newly formed better opinion of you now Mr. Spinnington. <3

I cried too ;_;

Its a really good romantic movie. With one of those stories from the 50's, its a modern classic in that sense alone. It reminds me of those great romance movies of the 40's and 50's

Ohhhhh ... is that the one where the posh girl shags the /

Yep it's that one. Yeah, a nice film.

Incidentally, I liked Closer. And Resident Evil Apocalypse.

I just read the summary and I think I'll go out and rent it later. I'm a sucker for tearjerkers... neverfailing to cry whilst watching episodes of 'Touched by an Angel'

I saw this in the theater with my wife. I already knew the ending, so I sat back and watched all the men in the theater trying to fight back tears. It was more enjoyable then the movie itself. Lots of sniffling and those cool moves where you pretend to have an itch on your nose and wipe away your tears.

James Garner is awesome as usual.

I thought the movie was dumb, a better love movie is Sense & Sensibility.

I like a good drama, unfortunately this is not a good drama. The whole time I watched it I felt like I had seen it before. I still haven't placed why I had that feeling. Maybe Bridges of Madison County? I dunno, it was just predictable and weak IMO.

Caught the movie on cable tonight. It was highly predictable, but I still ended up crying like a baby. It wasn't an overly complex film or anything, just an old fashioned love story done quite well I thought. Defintely good chemistry on screen between Gosling and the super hot McAdams.

I guess now I can watch it with my wife without embarassing myself.

I cry during movies, I do, but after seeing a little bit, and seeing previews, I can't see myself crying to this. It doesn't look all that involving. It takes a hell of a story and this seems predictable as hell.

I wouldn't watch this movie if you ripped my balls out and called me a woman. Which I am. But I still won't watch it...

I loved Moulin Rouge though. :)

I think it's more the acting than anything. It's a fantastic movie.

Then again, I cried during at least two episodes of futurama, and felt really bad because of a few others.

I really liked the episode of Fry and his brother, Yancey(sp?). That one was a tear jerker. ; _ ; Billy Idol always makes me cry if added to the right sequence. That bastard.

I started crying right when I realized I for a split second thought of crying for a movie.

All MOVIES get is my laughter!! THE TEARS ARE ALL MINE!!!!!!

This was a wonderful. I think men that scoff at this movie either just don't care for these types of movies (which is understandable because not everyone feels like going to see a huge emotional movie that might get them...emotional) or show their insensitivity as men. You can't help but root for Rachel McAdams (who was terrific and most importantly, likeable) and Ryan Gosling (I was very impressed, he doesn't come off as some kind of hick) to get together. I enjoyed the simplicity and old-fashionedness of the story.

I highly recommend it.

This movie was amazing, and yes, it made me cry like a baby too. This movie will mean infinitely more when you fall in love or are with the love of your life.

Amazing movie, had me crying also but it's more becuase i'm going through a similar experience right now. It really hits you.

DCX

Most of the girls I know love this movie. I've always stayed away. I'm insecure in my masculinity and I'm afraid this movie might turn me gay.

I watched a 4x3 dvd version that my friend got from the library, stupid girl knows nothing about dvds, who rents dvds from libraries? :(

It was fine but I want to see it in widescreen

...I fail to understand why people cry at this movie.

I was dragged to the damn thing when it was in theaters, and had to comfort a bawling ex upon leaving. (Which is tons of fun. -_-)

I mean, the ending is the most cliche'd pile of steaming crap ever.
oh my god, the old people are actually the young people in the story?! NO FUCKING WAY! And oh god, let us die together and keep our love pure, but make sure we die holding hands so whoever finds us the next morning can be certain that we died FOR OUR LOVE.

Give me a fucking. break. I wanted to throw up at the end of this shit.

Actually, it was more about how horrible senility is. How it robs people of thier memories. When you are elderly, that is about all you have.

But yea, the cheese factor was there. But it was no worse than movies like "Life as a House" or "My Life".
