no, but in all seriousness dudes i am a huge horror movie fan. i just got directv, and lately (as in the past few days) they've been playing a lot of horror movies (the thing, scream, house of 1000 corpses, session 7, etc). anyways, what are some scary movies (known or unknown) that you people enjoy? I ask because GA has had a pretty good track record (for me at least) in recommending good movies. so lets hear some

The Changeling with George C. Scott is a good one that not as well known these days.

Also, check out the work of Italian director Dario Argento if you haven't. Spattery horror flicks like Phenomena, Deep Red, Tenebrae, Suspiria, Opera, etc. are classice. Argento rules!

i met his daughter one time while working at tower records.

what is the changeling about? i've heard of it (and may have seen it as a child), but i cannot recall

'Prince of Darkness' is my favorite. Also Stir of Echoes. A scary movie that I actually like is few and far between.

It's not a scary movie per se, but the scene from I Spit On Your Grave where
the lady cuts the guy's penis off with a knife, then locks him in the bathroom while he bleeds to death and plays opera music to drown out his screams, then stuffs his corpse in an empty cabinet
is enough to make any male shiver and fly right imo.

In my opinion, one of the best John Carpenter films. I'd like to add The Thing as well, even though it's more of a sci-fi horror movie, but still a damn creepy one.

I don't know how it's held up all these years since I haven't seen it in a while, but Demons 2 used to scare me shitless as a child, especially since it takes place in an apartment building and it feels pretty claustrophobic.

My faves are all pretty standards

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (orig)
Dawn of the Dead 1978 AND 2004
The Thing (Carpenter)
Friday the 13th Final Chapter
Halloween
The Horror Show
The Wicker Man
