I haven't been paying a lot of attention to Halo lately. I played way too much of 2 and had to give it a really big break.

But now, I want the info, the scoop, the low down, or however you want to put it. Lay it on me. :)

Read the OP. I mean, NO!

I don't know... the "Believe" ad gives off a spoilerish vibe for me. Can someone confirm this is not spoilerific?

How many times in the last 10 pages alone has Stinkles said the ad people know absolutely NOTHING about the end of the game or the plot? :lol :lol

So.. concerning the diorama
What's the deal when you get to where you find master chief and you read the scene description where it says "This marks a major turning point in the battle where the Master Chief allowed for his capture." Talk about a story spoiler

I had no idea the illiteracy rates were this high.

Sorry dude, there's a lot of posts in here to sift through. I only checked a page or so back and saw nothing being discussed about it. Except for how awesome it is and I agree.

Vice City had tons of hype, but there's a totally different attitude about Halo 3. Most media outlets speak of it almost reverently, and this ad campaign is simply like nothing I've ever seen for a game. Even if it's pretentious, it's definitely still working. Peter Jackson's love and involvement are also very notable factors in the publics perception of Halo. What started out as a surprise blockbuster game has turned into something much more iconic.

Plus there's been the weekly updates, the podcasts, the constant postings of Frankie and Luke, and especially the beta.

I'd also like to add that I was more excited about Halo 2 than any other game to come out, and was immensely disappointed in it. When Halo 3 stuff started to surface, I was unimpressed and only mildly interested. That mild interest has turned into frothing desire. Halo 3's hype machine is massive and effective. I can't think of another ad campaign that's drawn me in like Halo 3's has.

Does anybody else get the impression that we're going to see the Chief seemingly bite the dust at some point in HALO 3, only to have a T2 'Alternate power reroute moment' for his final run? :D

Also, since we've seen bits of campaign now and impressions of it have been scattered all around the net for weeks - is it confirmed that we definitely don't have night vision back for the sniper in campaign or what?

Well i'm sorry that my life entails me to keep away from this thread for hours on end. It is a lot to look back on and I'm sorry that I missed it. You don't have to be a douche about it.

I haven't read this thread either. How about you just read the page you're trying to post on or any of the last ten.

It sucks that stores are getting copies already. This means pirates will more than likely have been playing the game at least a week before we get a chance, and will be annilating us real customers when we first play online.

Because you don't remember this :

being all over the internet the day it went out? You don't remember the number of cover story the game had?

Hell, my girlfriend knows the song : "I Ran" because she heard it in a Vice City ad.

I'm not trying to say that Halo 3 doesn't have hype, but Vice City was way bigger back then than Halo 3 is now, in my opinion.
Halo 2 was bigger in hype than Vice City, and from what MS just said, Halo 3 is on track to be bigger than Halo 2 opening weekend.

I'm still debating whether to read reviews or not. With Halo 2 I still have bitter memories of Greg Kasavin spoiling the game by stating in his review that you leave Earth early on in the game.

That line alone soured the Halo 2 campaign for me. (and of course the insult to injury being the Arbiter)

No reviews for me, I want campaign to feel as fresh as possible.

The only sounds (during Campaign playthroughs) were the occasional curse as a Jackal sniper ended a battle.

That sounds so fun, gotta love those Jackal snipers.

Anyone else just scrolling down, casually reading the BWU, then suddenly jerk your mouse wheel, scrolling back up, as soon as you saw the words "SPOILERS AHEAD"? :lol

Internets have me a nervous wreck.

I did. :lol After that, I had to scroll slowly to only show the top half of each sentence so that I could figure out if I should be worried. :lol

too much info , need bolding
Theres' bolding in the Update.

I hope they provide a profile for us to explore the new b.net features which does not contain spoilers. I'd like to poke around, but will of course heed the spoiler warnings.

We've already played and have learned the intricacies of the Halo 3 gameplay. The maps are the only thing that'll throw us off first.

The best thing to do in that case is to only poke around Frankie, Luke, and Ske7ch's profiles/file shares only. Maybe they'll upload a good cock-tease or two on their profiles.

And the way the weapons are re-balanced since the Beta. And the new equipment, weapons and vehicles (oh my!).

I have the 24th and 25th off work, so only 5 working days stand between now and Halo 3. That's a small number.

Awesome update. I had a stupid grin on my face many, many times throughout reading it. :D

Will Tuttle, for creating this gameplay variant in Forge I bow before you.
We were able to show them all the features and more importantly, let them play around at their own pace. The stuff being made in Forge was incredible. Will Tuttle’s baseball variant – VIP checkpoints for bases, Gravity Hammers for bats and Rockets for baseballs was a real eye opener. A well struck rocket will corkscrew out of the park (Valhalla) like a failed NASA launch, complete with contrail.

Wait, so before Frankie said you can rain multiple bubble shields down in Forge? Yet I was under the impression that more than a couple at one time would kill the game, so they had reduced it?
