Thermite doesn't play games anymore. He sold his 360 because he was pissed off at their E3 showing. I'm positive this is what happened.

Resetting both levels and ranks would be disappointing, but I wouldn't be surprised as disappointing fans has been a theme at Bungie lately. However, it's all speculation and I hope whatever changes they make are actually for the better and not for the sake of change.

Between my renewed addiction with Diablo II, reading through The Dark Tower series, and now Final Fantasy IV (DS) sucking me in I just haven't had a whole lot of time to dedicate to Halo. It's been far too long since I've touched it, though. I'll pop on sometime soon and get in some much needed games with you -- and everyone else -- again. Promise. <3

actually that option isn't there, but i put in the red/blue/green (component)? cables instead of the regular red/yellow/white ones and i got through to live. i didn't have to download an update with those in, weirdly enough. my tv isn't component compatible though, so it was in black and white, but i switched those cables out for the other ones and it still works. thanks though

I did the exact same thing. I briefly played the first game, but it didn't exactly click with me. So I installed the second and plan to plow through it during the week my family is out of town next month.

Puzzle Quest expansion is out, too. But every time I sit down, I end up firing up this game.

I liked what I played of 2, but it's just kinda low priority at the moment. It has a few minor things that bug me but I can definitely see where it would be fun, especially multiplayer. It probably doesn't help that I wound up getting it for free, so I'm probably not as willing to really sit down with it as I would be if I had paid for it.

Yo Nutter. I booked the hotel room (at the doubletree).
I found one with 2 beds and a sofa bed so no-one has to sleep on the floor, and for a good price, so I just jumped on it.

Its 294.94 total, so thats 100 bucks total for friday / saturday night (or 50 bucks each a night).

Hotel is close to the airport, 20 minutes from the convention center.

Depends on if your team had a lower "expectancy" to win, based on the trueskill system. I've gone both up and down after a tie.

So, this is interesting. I think it's tomorrow? We have Eric Nylund, who, I believe, may be contracted to write at least one more Halo book, my guess would be the follow-up to Ghosts of Onyx, we have Buckell who's releasing The Cole Protocol later this year about the infamous Gray Team, we've got a guy from Halo Wars and our own Frankie, who may well be talking about anything from Peter Jackson's Halo Chronicles or possibly another project, as we've got to believe that Microsoft is planning on working with the Halo franchise apart from Bungie's own development of another Halo title.

All in all, I'm actually pretty interested to watch any videos from this or read the transcripts. Hopefully we get some cool tidbits about the future of the franchise...

Probably obvious, but being fairly new to the MP side of things in Halo 3, Swords.........the blocking and recovery thing. Is blocking just about timing a swipe at the right moment ? And how the frell does everyone recover quicker than I do from a block and get a killing hit in before me ? Is it as simple as using melee rather than a normal swipe ??

Yes the recovery time from a melee is shorter than a normal lunge. Also, when playing swords, switch to the boxer setting.

Even if I clash with a melee the enemy still lunges me first, I have no idea how, maybe they are host.

I was quite shocked first time I saw the clash/block thing, very much a "WTF ! HOW !!??" moment.

The only time that I actually use lunge is when there is someone ahead of me, not facing me and I'm sure I can get the kill. Any other time, I usually use melee to try and get a quick kill. In other words, just jam the B button as fast as you can (if you're using default controls).
