Yup, I can't say a damn word about it until the 23rd...

And Microsoft are damn strict this time! At least here in Denmark, as I had to persuade them to do some kind of (local) multiplayer setup. Wtf?

And we only have one day with it, this thursday from 3pm, but we can continue as long as we want, so I'm gonna do an all-nighter for sure. These are precious hours!

Sorry, I tried taking some pics but none of them came out decent at all. My digital camera is old and the quality just isn't that great on it for a detailed close up shot like that. I'm sure someone else in this thread can provide pics shortly. Sorry, I tried :(

Finish it. Then send a friend your impressions. Tell that friend to send a friend. And so on. Then the last one posts it on GAF.

So you like it so far then? :) :)

Most magazines, including OXM, will be running their reviews about the same time. The main variation will be their own print dates. OXM had an advantage better measured in hours, than days.

The podtacular podcast. There's a Xbox community pack on the marketplace for free. Has like GTR and Achievement Junkie ones too.

Buttonbasher knows all. Brimley gives him knowledge.

Flawless so far...

OMG Halo 3 starts awesome and goes downhill from there confirmed. This is just like when the Warthogs wheel clipped through the ground!

No story elements allowed, right?

You know, Brimley is an active supporter and open campaigner for cockfighting. If I met him, I would punch that ugly, pretentious mustache clean off his face and crush his little vial of Humulin neath my boot.

My review will consist of 90% spoilers

Comments of interest from the above interview:

GamesRadar: Do you have a new favorite map now that you've played Halo 3?

Fran: I really liked the one map we played Ninjaball on that had all the tunnels and grav lifts and the threat of... oh wait. That one hasn't been announced yet, so I can't say what it is!

GamesRadar: Were you satisfied with the end then? Does the trilogy wrap up well?

Fran: I won't say anything about this other than... it's not Halo 2. Make of that what you will.

Me:

The update was hot. I'm a massive McFarlane fan and I can't wait to get my hands on these next year when they drop.

Sandtrap footage, as blurry and split-screeny as it was, gave me a lot of positive vibes about the map. I love vehicles, so I'm sure it'll be great but practically none of the big H2 maps did anything for me. Hopefully Sandtrap, with its inclusion of Forge, Elephants and cover (please god let there be plenty of cover), I'm hoping it'll player well. Right now, from the looks of it, Guardian is easily my favorite and I'm kind of curious about Gym Class right now. It looks like it'll be an oversized Turf, but one on crack.

It'll be the opposite. This thread will be full of fans and trolls alike waiting for the final reviews to come in.

People in this thread care about reviews? I think your information is wrong.

Gamespot could give it a 8.9 and it will still be my greatest game ever.

Anyone want to have a GAF halo game later today?

You haven't been on GAF for long have you? Untill everyone's got the game in their hands, reviews will mean alot to quite a few people.

While on the subject of multiplayer...
Looking at the announced maps so far I think we've seen the 3 large maps. Last Resort, Valhalla, and Sandtrap. I'm not expecting anymore oversized maps for launch than that.
High Ground and Epitah also may have enough room for big team (at 6 v 6) so that could also be considered.

We've seen plenty of mid-sized maps. Narrows, Guardian, High Ground, Snowbound, Epitaph. And I expect to see at least one more unannounced mid-sized map.

But we've yet to see a small-mid sized arena type maps that both Halo1 and Halo2 always ship with. You know, the derelicts or Midships. I'm expecting to see two arena style maps. Considering that I think the large maps have already been filled out, I wonder if Warthog inc is going to be more of an arena map. Maybe something resembling a circular race track... who knows. Also considering the popularity of midship. I wouldn't be suprised to see a spiritual successor to midship at launch. As in a two story, organicly curved map.

I think he means that most of the people that have been in here daily, will likely avoid the spoilers while everyone else on the board swoops in to troll/damage control etc.

Then make our return slowly as we get/beat our copies. I fully expect the night of the 25th to consist of plenty of just beat level such an such .. OMG's.... FAPS.... Who wants to go coop.... and questions about how 1up could give it a 10/10.
