got it for 3 or 4 times, than a week ago, 360 died, again, but this was the last time...i know i'll have to buy a new one the 25th ._.

You know those 2500 people added a short time ago? I heard from myself that 80% of them are joke accounts for when Halo 3 leaks.

I want to confirm something. Quite a few EB Games and GameStop stores here in Miami plan on holding Halo 3 tournaments on September 23rd. They plan to hold preliminaries at several stores and then hold a final round at an unspecified store.

Has anyone heard of any such thing going on with their local EB and GameStop stores? I thought this is rather odd and it certainly sounds like they shouldn't be doing this. Before Halo 2 came out, one of the same stores holding one of these Halo 3 tournaments did the same thing but with Halo 1 and about a month before launch, not a week.

I have not heard of anything like that, and I talk to my local GameStop manger fairly often. However, the GameStops rarely do anything cool in my area.

I'm going to an event that has a Halo 2 tournament. There may be some confusion. I think the idea is to play until midnight, and pick up Halo 3, and then book it home to finish the fight.

my eb had halo 2 in the xbox nearly all day until the manager came back in for the midnight release and made them take it out

pretty sure there are rules against this

Well as long as the French don't screw us over, I don't think there should be a leak, with the embargos on the media.

If any of you guys hear of websites being bombarded with Halo 3 spoiler spam, let us know in this thread.

I'm at DEFCON 3 - Be Really Careful. This means I'm down to GAF, HBO front page, Bungie.net front page and a private forum. Sites like 1up are officially down except for direct links to podcasts. When details start leaking, I'm going to....

DEFCON 5 - Be Really Fucking Careful. That's real lockdown mode: HBO front page and Bungie.net front page. I'll update the OP with materials from those sources, but no longer read the thread (but I'll do fire-and-forget updates). I'll also read threads like NPD, but otherwise go dark.
 
Has anyone succesfully used that 10% Gamestop coupon? I tried using it but they said it wasn't valid for preorders and it expires before the game comes out. :-/

Yeah, pretty much there and the Official Halo MLG forums are where I'll be spending my days up until the 25th. I'm sorry GAF, but I have to move on to a more mature place, where the likelihood of my being spoiled is near zero. Bye!
