Someone I know who works Gamestop just called from Vegas (he's at the managers confrence there) and he got to play 5 on 5. Bungie picked 500 people to play (out of 5000). That bastard!

He didn't know much about the game but told me he got to use a "ton of new weapons".

I hate him right now.
 
To save myself the agony and time of reading the last 10 pages that have passed since I was last here can anyone just give me a simple 'yes' or 'no' as to whether or not true spoilers have actually surfaced?

Nice games guys. I am sorry my brother started teamkilling, but he was really mad at me for not taking him to cubscouts.

Pics of Characters we know about . Not really spoiler though. But if this is where it starts... wonder what this kid will take a picture of next...
 
Am I still able to preorder? I wanted to preoder at Walmart and pick it up at midnight on the 24th.

I really don't feel like sitting in line.
 
Ok cool. So it seems we have some random in game pics with little accompanying context that may or may not be from later levels in the game....

Bout sum it up?

Do we have explanation for how this individual is taking said pics? Were the ebay sales from yesterday confirmed as legit?

The Walmart where I live was not taking pre-orders, I'm not sure if that is a standard policy. EBGames/Gamestop are still taking pre-orders, but you are guaranteed to have to wait in a line at the majority of locations.

No. Their all characters that we know about. Just didn't want to name them out.
 
Well, this is the end of the line for me. I saw a picture of a cutscene and I've heard that there are vids of the opening sequence floating around. Marty's advice to abandon ship has prompted me to take my leave now. I'll be limiting myself only to halo.bungie.org's front page and Bungie.net's front page, but I won't be watching videos, listening to podcasts, or reading articles - only scanning headlines for major announcements. Someone mentioned that there were slight spoilers in the podcast today regarding the first mission, and I want the surprise of experiencing it firsthand rather than reading about it.

The next two weeks will be spent playing Halo 1 and Halo 2's campaign modes.

See you around noon on the 25th, GAF!

Yeah, the pics were pretty harmless but a video is something I really don't want to see.

Godspeed, my friend. I wasn't planning on leaving GAF's Halo thread/majority of the internets until the 19th, but looks like I may have to abandon this ship of greatness sooner than expected. :(
 
I was gonna get a 360 just for Halo 3...but fortunately, my new roommate has one :D

I'mma just get the game. I haven't played Halo 2 in a while, though. Hope I haven't forgotten too much (although it drained the hell out of me beating it on Legendary)

It looks like it is going to be shown on the next GameHead, so I'm guessing they wanted to use terms more people are familiar with. For example, 4-wheeler instead of mongoose.

Same here. Was rocking the GTAIV theme and a GHII gamerpic. I'll probably keep the H3 stuff until launch and then switch back, I really like the GTA theme.
 
What number has Bungie thrown around as far as MP maps included with the game? I'm hoping at least 9. They know we (I) would give them a ton of Marketplace points for more anyway...

I hope they have something cool planned for launch as far as downloads go. Gears had the video and Crackdown had free character downloads. Maybe one armor type for Spartans/Elites?

God DAMMIT! HELP ME GAF! I cannot take this wait anymore. I NEED a game to take my mind off this. So help reccomend me something to help pass the time for the next two weeks! I'm serious here! Help!

I have a PSP and a 360. I have already finished Bioshock. I have no interest in Two Worlds. I don't want to play another FPS (been playing Halo 2 and Gears like mad) but I need something that has legs for a little while. PSP should open some doors for RPGs maybe. Thoughts?
