man.... I just spent a giant buttload of hours listening to the entirety of the I Love Bees DVD ISO that was made and available on the OP.

Seriously, I am just blown away. Holy fuck.

Wow.

Seriously good stuff, I loved it. I loved it all. I loved the characters, the voices, the acting, everything. Oh my god.

This needs to be made into an audio novel, like they have in Japan. It was so good.

Now, I need to go pee. I've been holding it, and the last few recordings and the "Heroes" chapter sent shivers. I wonder when the NYC folks will be back.

Can you point me in the direction of that please? I'd love to hear that.

I am caught up again.

In summary;

1. Yay!

2. 12 Days.

3. I wanna play Co-op with Stinkles :3

4. 12 Days!

5. That new theme is awesome.

6. TWELVE DAYS!!!!! :3

Based on what Frankie said earlier, when you find a skull on legendary you can turn them on and off. Is this right!

Also, When you play coop on campaign; How will the saved films work, will it ask you the save between levels or after you finish the campaign, because thats going to be one long saved film.

Are you guys afraid of Harry Potter fans spoiling the story to people on the pick up lines during the midnight release? Now I am even scared of picking up my copy. This is going too far.

Only one solution:

:lol I need to get me one of em!

On a different note, anyone else been playing Halo 2 matchmaking the past week? Sometimes it is taking ages to find a game so we just have to do a custom game instead, and when it does find one we always get the same maps, warlock/wizard, elongation and those 2 new remake maps, all of which my friends and I think are awful. The only mildly decent map we are getting is Burial Mounds and that is hardly a fan favourite, it's almost like they are making us play these maps so we rush out to buy Halo 3 just to get some variation.

I've found matchmaking to be mostly good over the past week, except for right after the XBL maintenance update when it could rarely find a game at all. Never had any problems with being given biased map choices though. :P

When press ask us how long it takes on heroic, we have no good answer. A certain good Halo 2 player took 18 hours. Another blasted through in 11.

There is no useful average. And there are many ways to approach it.

I will say this time and time again - if you have never played Halo, play on normal. If you have played Halo, play on Heroic - and not because it's harder, but because it's more. More achievements, more encounters, more weapons, more vehicles, more bad guys.

And second time you play it, turn on some skulls.

On co-op, I reccomend Heroic for giggles and Legendary for the challenge and the achievements and the salty yet hetero man-love that comes from that bond.

It's true...

While I still can't reveal the time it took us (me and my colleague in co-op) to finish the fight, I can say this...

Two other journalists played co-op on normal (pussies) and were done WAY before me and my colleague. We instead played the first two levels on Legendary and then went back to Heroic for the rest. We "had" to play Heroic for the sake of time, but surely Legendary was the right way for two experienced Halo 3 players in co-op... and to make a very vague and probably uncorrect prediction, when playing on normal, it's twice as long on heroic and again twice as long on legendary. Probably not, but it could almost feel like that.

So how long did it take the other journalists to finish the fight and how much longer did it take you to finish it? What do you mean by "way before"?

edit: another question. how many levels did you play on heroic?

Don't read too much into it... and don't try to calculate according to the time of my posts either, as that other guy did. Not really useful and he was off anyways...

But I can't give details, you know that. I'm just trying to say that the length of the game drastically increases on harder difficulties...

BTW, going through campaign only once for the sake of doing a review would be fine. But if this game is anywhere close to Halo CE, I will go through each level over and over again trying to approach the same encounter as many different ways as I can. I don't know what is it about Halo but it just doesn't lose its replayability.

Yeah it is really fun trying to approach encounters in different ways. That was generally less possible/enjoyable in Halo 2 for me because even though there were some fairly expansive areas, the design of the environments was such that there really weren't too many different ways in which you could approach your enemies; based on the Tsavo Highway footage this doesn't seem to be a problem that Halo 3 will suffer. :)

Anyone else wish they would make L.E Duke 360 controllers? I know people use to hate the duke, but it's still my preferred controller for Halo. :P

I suppose that's one blessing of picking the game up during the day on the 25th, rather than my planned midnight line festivities.

I'm bringing a .40 caliber. I'll be at the GameStop in Lake St. Louis. Dare you, motherfuckers. Dare you.

What difficulty do you guys reckon I should play 4-player co-op on, when only 1 of the 4 have played a Halo game properly? However the other 3 guys are normal gamers, 2 of whom rock at Gears. One of them however is still a plank at using dual analogue for FPS. He's probably reading this message right now, and if you are, yea I called you a PLANK.

Legendary. Make the plank play scout. Or just hop in a Warthog and run him over a few times.

Not really. I used the Duke all the time for the Halo games but not for anything else, and I mostly did that because the Controller S never quite felt right in my hands and the black and white buttons were in a bad position. The 360 controller fixed those issues for me and fits extremely well with the new halo control scheme so no, I would rather leave the Duke in the past :P

100 pages, the power of Halo 3.

I expect someone is getting a prize from Modus :D

I agree with Urk, I think 4 player co-op will be too easy on anything less than Legendary once you get into the swing of things. You can always drop the difficulty if it becomes too hard for your friend.

Heroic, according to frankie Heroic isn't all that hard with 4 people and you get the full breadth of encounters that you miss in normal.

Brings up a good point, is it wise for the game to have all this awesome "hidden" in a difficulty that the average gamer isn't going to click? I hope that more players will discover the joy of Halo challenging difficulties than did in the first two.

I'm doing the same thing I always do with midnight releases. Not showing up till thirty minutes after midnight, no waiting in line and no local wildlife. Beats the pants out of fighting my way through a parking lot and getting an entire extra five minutes with the game, doubly so when there could be spoilerz about.

Anyways, does someone have a link to that site that put all the ilurvbees sound files together? I'd go looking but the internet kinda scares me at the moment.

HBO Has them all in order, and they're safe cause the forums are closed. Just search for
"HBO I Love Bees."

Legendary is a must for any of you guys if you play co-op, 2-4 players... especially when you have the time for it.
