Those Chief pics are new too me and fucking awesome to boot. My folks are actually leaving for Vegas for a few days late next week; I'd go but we wouldn't be back in time for the midnight launch and there's no way in hell I'd miss that. I'll just have them take a bunch of shots of the statue and be happy.

But yeah, apparently my 360 has finally matured out of its masochist stage, and now the damn thing is OFFICIALLY dead. The shipping box still hasn't arrived yet, and, barring a miracle, I won't be getting my 360 back by the 25th.
Now, I'm in a pretty big predicament here. I really, really want to play Halo 3 no later than launch day. I could buy a new 360, but I don't know what version to get. I could go with the Elite, which is what I'm leaning to right now, or I could go with the Halo box. Both have the second heatsink, no?

Oh man, I forgot how hard Halo 2 is on Heroic (I am not that great at campaign) I just got to Delta Halo and some of the vehicle parts are freaking difficult.

Weren't you gonna buy one from Target and pay the 15% restocking fee after getting your fix? You could always buy one and sell it on craigslist/ebay/etc... You'd lose some cash, for sure, but it might be worth it if can afford it and want it bad enough...

(Most) Gamestops and EB's stopped taking Legendary preorders a few weeks ago, but they're still open online. They obviously hit a point where they wanted to make sure they'd have enough to guarantee all in-store preorders and current online preorders, then are keeping the online preorders open until they hit whatever number they know they're getting. The things are already shipping and they're still taking preorders online, short of some sort of total massive fuckup or shipping error there's no way they shouldn't have enough.

When I did preorder a few months ago, I was worried about that. At the time, I preordered 3 of them (then later switched one to the middle edition). The clerks didn't know if it would go through the system or not. They were like, "hey! it went through!" So, I'm not too worried... just as long as I can get my Limited edition.Buttonbasher said:

We're going to have enough to cover all of the reserves. I reserved two at my own store and told my manager that a few people were doing the same and if we might have to allow only 1 per customer. Not the case. As with all reserves, we get enough to cover every single reserve (even if you reserved 2 or 3 or 4 and so on) plus a few extras. But we're still taking reserves lol. We have 64 reserves for Legendary (390 for regular!) and we're going to have a total of 68 copies by the 18th.
Each box holds 2 Legendary editions. Yes, the boxes are bigger than the consoles themselves. Can't tell you how much it weighs. I'll check Sunday. Bigger than I thought. I feel bad for cats. It's the size of at least a few kittens.

Launch 360: I didn't play this thing for literally 4 months after Perfect Dark sucked complete balls, turn it on one day after it hadn't been on in forever, 3 red rings.
2nd: This was the repaired launch one, it died the week of the Beta, so I was like fuck this, went ahead and bought a brand new one...which leads us to...
3rd: Got this the day I got my F&F Beta invite, played it for a few hours, then it would freeze up every 10 minutes, and give me dirty disc errors when there wasn't even a disc in the system...so I took it back, got a new one.
4th: Things went well for about 4 months, then out of the blue, it starts doing the same thing as the 3rd one, would just freeze up constantly, no matter what game I played.
For the 5th, I went ahead and purchased an Elite, got the 2 broken ones fixed under MS's policy and sold one to a friend, and still need to sell the other, I'll take a small hit, but w/e.
