Hi and welcome, everyone! If you stream on Twitch as a few folks mentioned, feel free to link up your Twitch account with your NeoGAF account for some additional exposure here with our custom twitch integration: https://www.neogaf.com/twitch/ (press big button etc.)

Nowi Nowi , is that your sprite work in your avatar? Cool stuff. We'll be doing another t-shirt design contest soon to relaunch our neogaf merch shop through a better vendor, so keep an eye out for that and participate if you're inclined. Might be a chance to get some more video game related art published and win some loot for it. :messenger_smiling:

Hello there! I've only recently signed up on NeoGAF and I tend to come up on the site from time to time to see what's going on in the gaming world. I tend to make YT videos on gaming (mainly retro stuff) . I'm also a fan of anime (JJBA, One Piece, Hajime No Ippo, and HNK are my favorites) and music (Bowie, Queen, Nirvana, Oasis, Gorillaz).

Hello I am *Eul*

My favorite games are " The Elder's scrolls Series " & " Fallout Series " i am also a big fan of bethesda games all of there games.

The only thing i hate is "JRPG " whenever i come across with any of those the thing that i can imagine is " Anime " & " Rated X " games everyone knows that japanese is the master of making that kinda wierd games but i'll make an exception for my greatest favorite RPG in my whole life " Final Fantasy ".

My Hobbies beside playing video games are Eating Food i got sweet toothed so those candy bar chocolates etc, i ate them all.

althought im onto video games i can't focus on it since i got a job i only got 2 days rest from my work all i do on that day off is playing video games.

The best videogames i played was back from the 90's the classic gaming are more awesome than modern i'd remember the old days playing those scummvm games those nes Snes and ps1 games theyre algreat, i remember when i was coming home after school i spend playing all even in weekend and almost forget to make homework bcuz of that LOL.

About me i am working as an encoder for a Software making company also i was making my own website also i was 4 year grad from I.T school.

Now about the choice of my avatar since i am a really big fan of Warcraft3 & WoW i choose " The Lichking " it's bdass that s the reason.

Hi All! My name is Michael.

My favorite games were Halo & Starcraft. Recently, I got super into robot fighting programs like BattleBots and ClashBots.

The problem I found was that it's really hard to fight robots with people. For that reason, I invented RoboDuels.

RoboDuels is the game where you fight real robots through the internet for cash prizes. It's sort of like FortNite (which I also love), but with real robots and if you're the last robot standing you win cash!

RoboDuels is what I do full time and is the true passion of mine. Before that I was doing software and mechanical engineering at a few different places.

My avatar is the RoboDuels logo, which I also designed.

Hi people!
I'm GL, a born gamer and not a casual(lol). I'm grom GB and I've recently turned 28
I've been playing dozens of different titles in different genres, but the games I've played most are definitely Diablo II, cs 1.6, League of legends, eve online, path of exile, diablo III, maplestory etc.,

Last couple of months I've been playing almost exclusively poe(path of exile). It's a great, unique game with best end-game I've ever encountered. It's got a unique orbs market system instead of standard currency system and the amount of different builds and paths you can take is numerous. There's only thing I really don't like about the game - the fact that its one of these games where rmt is just so developed that every other person would buy poe currency on lots of different websites(theres literally dozens of them) which just drives me red.
Therefore just curious if you guys have any games that you would, with all your heart, recommend, I'd be more than willing to try some out.

On a cruise at the moment with alot of down time so I thought I'd use it as an opportunity to intro myself in here.

Firstly I must say I'm proud to be part of this community. I got into it when I was researching info about (at the time) the upcoming Wii U. I remember being fascinated by the level of knowledge from posters and I even found myself becoming a fan of a few posters in here. I was equally impressed when I noticed other publications quotted off Neogaf which made me realise the respect and recognition it also had in the industry. Knowing this I was determined to not just be a lurker but to one day become a fully fledged member.

I remember the day, which was about 2 years after I first signed up that I got elevated to member status. For a while I actually thought the system forgot about me. That I was somehow lost in it. And so I expected I'd just forever stay a lurker. However one day when I jumped into Neogaf, which Ive done probably every single day since I signed up those years ago, I noticed something not quite right. It then took me a little while to realise I had 'member' under my name. I know to most people it comes across as pathetic but I felt immense pride that I was finally accepted a member of such an elite bunch of people.

Today I proudly show off I'm a Neogaf member. I like the fact that membership isn't given so easily and the wait is long. It makes becoming a member feel even more satisfying.

Now all I need is to be given a label by the lords but I know with patience and time I'll become worthy of such an honour.

About me I'm a marketing professional for a large multinational tech company. My interests lay in not just gaming but the industry as a whole. Im into health and fitness and I'm also quite into my spiritual and well being practices.

I'm a returning member actually. It's been a long-time since I've been on Neogaf although I have lurked. The site has changed quite a bit from the old model and I was aware of the uh... incident which seemed to be presented lopsided against the admin here, as well as a lack of patience and immediately coming to conclusions and choosing sides while contradicting themselves on waiting for a response.

Anyway great to see the new look.

Is posts needing moderator approval a new thing?

I'm not sure. You can't post threads right away, if that's what you're asking. Otherwise, I'm not aware of any posting restrictions.

Hi and yes it is.

Unfortunately, there have been a few ex-members who have made a new account only to immediately troll or post bad things (porn bomb etc) as well as spam bots. In other words: immature idiots.

I believe the post approval period is a necessary countermeasure to that. Basically, it comes down to a new member having to prove they are are here for the right reasons before it is removed.

Shouldn’t take too long if you are legitimate.

I think the best thing about the split is that I have no idea who any of the mods are. That's a sign of high quality modding.

Jay_TCE

Neo Member
Hello there.

My real name isn't Jay, it's based on one of my initials letter. TCE is Teres Celer Exertus(latin) which my chosen translation for is : Smooth, Swift and Experienced. It's a clan I started for try hards (because playing to win = try hard for some people) like myself when I was a junior in high school and although it went nowhere I like to use the tag as a memento of those days. I'm a competitive gamer although thanks to my lack of free time I can never really get into comp gaming, and my closest experience to comp gaming is some ESL matches with some friends on Rainbow Six Siege.

It would be easier to list which genres of games I hate than to list those I like since I'm open minded and will play almost anything as long as I enjoy myself.
I hate platformers and fighting games simply put.

Some of my favorite franchises are Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Battlefield, Hitman, Forza Horizon, Metro, Tomb Raider (Classic and Reboot series), Sniper Elite, The Witcher, Metal Gear Solid, Dragon Age, Dark Souls and Assassin's Creed just to name a few I can name off the top of my head.

I'm a music nerd (somewhat, I listen to new music everyday but I don't know the ins and outs of music production even if I have the software, I just don't have the time to get into it) and listen to A LOT of music and I'm pretty picky to what I listen to and I'm not a fan of pop music. Get that far away from me.

I play on Xbox One (On an Xbox One S to be specific) but I'm saving up for a pretty good gaming PC and will soon buy a PS4 Pro, mainly for the exclusives on there like The Last Of Us series, The Uncharted series, and the upcoming Death Stranding to name a few.

I don't care for religion and I'm glad my mother respects my decision and didn't try to force me into believing since she's very religious. I don't believe in a lot of things now that I think about it (such as luck and horoscopes for example).

My favorite alcoholic drink is Vodka.

Anyway, that's my hello to NeoGAF. I've been trying to find a new main forum and this one looks like quality. My previous main forum was GameFAQs but after years of being a member and making some new friends I got banned out of nowhere but that's a story for another time. I'm a lurker on several other forums as well.

There's some other things I'm unsure of whether or not I should share on here so I'll just stop here for now.

Hello!

I'm Johnny, I've been a veryyyyy long time lurker, since 2005/2006 (can't remember the precise date lol). I've always been fascinated by videogames since my human larva stage. I remember this forum well and the glory it was in the 2000's when it was hyper game centric. I considered registering but the speciffic e-mail requirements complicated things a bit.

Then the forum shifted in terms of "priorities" and pleasantness since 2012/13, for the worst unfortunately and my interest faded in registering, but remained a frequent lurker. After the "climax" last year, I am satisfied to see that this forum has taken a turn for the better, bit by bit. With these surprising recent change in the environment and attitude in the forum, along with lifting the e-mail requirements, I was more receptive to the idea of registering. This forum has all points in favor of being the absolute number 1 in gaming forums if it plays it's cards properly.

I yearn for the glory days of making a fuzz of saying that a 1080p pixel densitity in a 1920x800 screen and claim it's not true 1080p, or the "fix this **** gorilla", or the "I'm an expert in Japanese culture" and "kiss your career goodbye", or the polemic drawbacks of SPU architecture vs generalized X86 CPU architecture, or system ram and video ram requiments that steal our precious split ram architecture from using it in games and begging any scraps or more free ram that they can give us with new firmware update, the ultimate super perfect stability updates version 100 (stable as ****), horrible texture that have to be hidden with blur, FXAA horrible blur, Halo Killer, etc, etc.

I've also been a long time fan of economic theory and I am an avid reader of history.

Nice meeting you!

Hello, I've been a member of this site for five years. I used to hang out in the persona OT until y'know. I've caught two bans here. After the split I went over to Reee-ERA but quickly dropped it for obvious reasons. Anyway, my interest are gaming, anime, and Japanese culture.

Finally joined after lurking this forum for probably 10 years?!?!

Only reason I finally did it was I got off my ass and made a valid email address from my cable provider for the sole purpose of this forum.

Middle aged, gamed since the 80s and enjoy talking retro stuff, don't play as much anymore, but still like keeping up with news chatting about it.

I love reading dramatic stuff.... console fanboys, political riff raff, SJW etc..... I'm pretty low key and very few things rattle me so when I see other people blow up like the Earth is ending because Digital Foundry notice Frames # 2,000 to 2,010 out of a 10,000 frame test has screen tearing, I love seeing people freak out.

I'm not a political person either. Frankly I don't really care who wins elections. I hum along to my own beat and life, but still watching election results and people go nuts on anything polarizing like politics, gun debates and immigration.

Hello there, I hope I am posting in the right spot, I'm new!~ Happy to be here!

Side note, confused because I have posted twice now (before this) and it says my posts are being held for a review by an admin and are invisible to everyone. Why is this a thing? the topic is breezing by without me....

S Saint Boot Ahoy there and welcome!

All new members have their posts reviewed primarily for two purposes:
  • Catch spammers before they actually hit the boards
  • Ensuring the new user isn’t a toxic mess before they even get going
It’s ultimately to keep the board a healthy place.

Apologies for the inconvenience, but it’s a very short duration so you’ll be free and clear shortly if you’re not already.

See you ‘round the forum!

Hello everyone !

Well, my account appears to be validated, so I will use this opportunity to introduce myself : I'm a long time gaf lurker - one of my first memories is the PS2 Okami MT, good times - who was a little disappointed by the descent into SJW cancerous insanity the recent years, but more than pleased to see how Gaf turned around after the whole resetera travesty.

Thanks everyone - admins and mods - who work to keep Gaf such a wonderful place !

bonsoir mon amis.... ive been at some variation of GAF since, gulp, 2000. looks like im member 201 of this iteration of GAF which began in 2004. i competed valiantly in the neo-gaf/opa-age wars, at one point even starting a spin off forum when opa-opa disappeared. i remember fondly back in 2011 alerting this forum to the call of my lung transplant and the well-wishes pouring in from all the over the world; i'm still kicking, almost 8 years post bi-lat lung transplant.

i'm a huge political nerd and just recently got back into gaming when my fiancee purchased me an xbox one. my forum tag is my scarlet letter, handed down after many bans/expulsions and troll wars with various GAF personalities throughout the years, mainly Ned , rasputin, and Shinobi. age has moderated me however....

i'm still not entirely sure what happened last year with neogaf but i just logged back in to check on the state of poli-gaf. feel free to say hello to an old friend!

Hello everyone! It feels really nice to be able to post here after being a lurker for so many years. I discovered NeoGAF around E3 2013 if I remember correctly and kept lurking ever since. Throughout the years I immensely enjoyed all the insightful discussions, hilarious threads, creative gifs, avatar-quoting and so on. I have a lot of screenshots stored on my computer and still revisit them every now and then.
I signed up twice before but got rejected; in hindsight this was good because I stopped using the email addresses I registered with. Luckily, third time’s a charm and so here I am now.

I’m a dude from Morocco who got into gaming in the late 90s and never stopped since. Favorite genre is JRPGs with Skies of Arcadia and Xenogears sitting at the top. My favorite video game series include Final Fantasy, Pokémon, Super Robot Wars, The King of Fighters, the Trails series, and Metal Gear Solid. Favorite game of all time is Shadow of the Colossus. I’m currently having a blast with Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

Outside of gaming I love manga, anime, fiction writing, drawing, music, bodybuilding and martial arts.

I’m a lurker by nature so you won’t see me on every other thread, but hopefully I make a good contribution to this forum.

Hi my name is killcommunism, and I really really hate communists. No meme, not being edgy. I literally hate them and evetything about them. Anyway, feels pretty good being able to come here and not be surrounded on all sides by commies. The amount of opinions are actually diverse. I don't care that there are still commies here. They aren't the rule setters anymore and I can say stuff without getting censored. That's nice.

Hi folks - Toecutter here. I've been an unregistered lurker for a while now, so thought I'd make an account.

I'm an old-man gamer (mid-thirties) from the UK, having started with a ZX Spectrum and now mainly using a PC - recent favourites include Paradox strategy games (Crusader Kings 2 in particular), Skyrim and Kerbal Space Program.

I'm currently working my way through Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS4 though - RDR was my favourite game of the last console generation, though I'm still pretty salty that it never came to the PC.

I also have an Oculus Rift, having been an early adopter of VR. Have to admit though, it's been collecting dust for a while now...

Other than that, outside of gaming I enjoy a bit of wrestling (something else I'm probably too old for) and listening to music.

I probably won't post much, but when I do hopefully it's not by flaunting my ignorance in the politics threads. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Hi folks,

Like other recently introduced gamers here, I'm also a long time (italian) lurker, :messenger_ghost:

I've been gaming since 1983, when I was just 5 yrs old. My first videogame? "Caverns of Mars" on the fantastic Atari 800XL. I'm mostly into CRPGs and management sims, like Football Manager. I generally like MMOs, although I'm waiting for some more innovation on that front. Finally, I really enjoy so called "retrogaming", especially when it comes to Atari ST games and, again, CRPGs in general.

In general, I have lots of other interests, especially Astronomy and learning more about ancient civilizations. Oh, I'm also a board gamer, although mainly a "solo" one.

See you around :)

Hey. I'm from Wales and enjoy gaming as well as footy. Swansea City are my team and if there's any Cardiff fans then let's be avin ya!

I love cats and violent Chicago drill music..sounds like an odd combo, oh and of course old school boom bap hip-hop too.

Aaanyways I've been gaming since 1994 and still get excited over new games so I'm definitely in the right place here.

So yeah, Hi. Also, been reading NeoGaf for many years but never joined, just wanted to say that I think the forum is in fantastic shape and better than ever after the split of last year and as someone who viewed it all from the outside, I can hand on heart say that it has only done Gaf a world of good.
