The Official NeoGAF "Introduce Yourself" Thread

Welcome, new blood. Yo, where the hell is Canton? Not a bad name. I'm outta Lockhart in Orlando FL, sounds gangsta, right? It's not. Jacksonville cats would body all of us out here. We just a bunch of mixed-race folks tryna retire in peace with our HOA fees and backyard lizards. But anyway... I nutted in this thread to confess something. Years back, I stumbled on some dusty-ass YouTube vids talking about how GAF was wildin' and supposedly on life support. I watched that and said, "Yup, this is where I wanna lay my dick until I flatline." Kinda felt like home instantly.

Yeah, lotta PlayStation fans on here too, and I think PlayStation is like toilet paper after being dragged through eight months of swamp-ass. I know that stank personally, I was homeless for two years in NYC. Ain't nothing like it. Anyway, I love it here. I'm probably one of like five niggas on this site, tops. The rest are likely European white niggas I'm slowly warming up to. They got a weird charm.

Stick around. We might act like we know everything, but who doesn't? You either act like you matter or get stepped on. Sure, you could go to some sanitized site where they watch every post like it's a TSA line, but that ain't freedom, bruh.
 
Hi everyone, I am returning after being a NeoGAF child from 2008-2012. NeoGAF actually saved my life when I was at my lowest point. It came in the form of a PayPal swarm that financed a birthday flight to see my family across the country.

And in 2009, NeoGAF tracked down my biological family.

I am hoping someone from 2008-2012 can help me put the story together - or anyone from later willing to chat for a bit.

I don't intend to be an active member but I do pray someone can help me show what I have returned with NeoGAF's investment.

I don't know how to use most of this site anymore; are any of my era's admins/mods/superusers around? I hope you find this.

Well, might as well say hi. Idk if anyone reads this thread.

I have the classic "baby millennial playing computer games" taken at like, age 6. But I missed out on the end of the golden era of gaming and also missed out on making internet friends before smart phones blew up and the internet died. I don't fit in on Discord and definitely don't fit in on Reddit, & due to the way the world's been going (but which I won't talk about cuz I've read the rules), I genuinely feel like I woke up from a 15 year coma on a planet that looks like home but absolutely isn't.

I have a list of games I've never played & a closet full of books I haven't read, 'cause tbh isolation really wears you down and saps your will do to anything except leave comments in the void on Youtube/Reddit & watch other people live their lives. So if I sound like a depressed ghost, ig this is the result of that. And I don't mind saying so, because I'm sure somebody out there is or will be lurking someday and might appreciate knowing they aren't alone.

I like Hollow Knight, Stardew, bodycam videos, watching Botched & My 600lb Life.. wait. Uh, I'm playing Elden Ring, I want to play Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.. I've still never finished Skyrim. Love video game OSTs, story driven games & older RPGs.. I collect old books about history, economics, psychology, and classic lit. Usually found wandering around the park or my neighborhood, staring at tiny bugs & blades of grass and wondering why I'm here.
