It'll only be a system seller in Japan. I see no appeal to the western masses. I would enjoy this game immensly, but i think Nintendo would be better off making a SSB DS and releasing it alongside JSS. Of course, if they haven't started there's no way this will come true.

Don't see what will stop them from releasing JSS in Japan, rebranding it to be SSBDS in America, and then release THAT game in Japan 6 months later.

The only thing that might stop them from doing that is the fair popularity SSB holds in Japan. It would be better for them to release JSS and a new Smash Brothers, not just rework JSS for an American audience. Not to mention, I want JSS goddamnit. Import ho!

It's going to do well enough in Japan, but I doubt it will even see a U.S. release since Naruto and One Piece don't seem to have caught on in the U.S. yet.

Got my DS yesterday. 3 days from Salt Lake City to Belfast good stuff. Mario is nice, some pixelly textures. Enjoying it so far

Why did you get a JPN DS instead of a US DS? Unless you're Japanese (hurr hurr)...

Anyway, if you can understand Japanese go with Band Brothers, Samwaru (or is it Mamwaru?) Made in Wario and Super Mario 64 DS. Feel the Magic XY/XX is decent enough of an experience to be memorable and worth the price of admission.

I've only played latest GBA one, Twisted. But if it's any hope to you that was very easy to play despite it being in Japanese.

You'll be fine, the trouble spots are really the minigames that are focused on Japanese knowledge or wordings (those are usually rare though) and any minigames you don't understand what exactly you're supposed to do, as the little flash of instructions is in Japanese. But nearly all the games will be easy to figure out as they're usually self-explanatory and you pick up what to do in the first split second. Sawaru or Mawaru would probably be the best games to import with the DS right now,.
