They could cell-shade Street Fighter probably to perfect hand drawn quality with the next-gen hardware. It would look like a cartoon/anime, but could be fully 3D.

Yeah, but (many) people have been waiting for this ever since detailed 3D games, such as VF2 and Tekken, appeared in the arcades. Then, look what we got...EX...ugh.

Oh, and the only thing that can save Capcom is a badass remake of Black Tiger.

SF2 background are like the sum of all stereotypes...

SPAIN: Some Sevillanas dancing and a group of drunkies...

RUSSIA: Workers in a factory hyping the great GIEF !!!!

CHINA: Bycicles !

Brazil: The Jungle !

...

Does anyone know of Guile's stage was "sanitized" for the SNES versions? I can't hardly imagine Nintendo's ruthless censors letting this one slide.

Capcom rep "Oh, no, she's not touching him in an sexual way, she's actually______"

You fill in the blank, because I can't think of any logical explanation for what it could be.

And I would cream my pants.

I'd prefer to just answer this by mixing the two topic titles I saw at the top of the page:
"the only thing that can save Capcom is" "Bernie Stolar".

And I laughed. Heartily. *

* Actually, no I didn't.. I'm at Penn State's computer lab and I'm afraid to.. :D

Black Tiger was Capcom's? Whoa, I never noticed, besides I didn't knew about Capcom when I was playing it in the Arcade at the age of 10.

EA needs to buy Capcom and "BLING" everything up.....Imagine Ryu coming out with 5 silver chains and earings all the while they have "In DA CLUB" playing in the background.

AWESOME!

No, they'll save that for Capcom v. EA.

Street Fighter Vendetta, The Battle For Dr Wily's Castle?

DMX vs Dan? NO!!!!!

3D Street Fighter? Why would that save them?

SF has always been about 2D. If you wanna play 3D SF, play those horrid EX titles. Not saying 3D SF would be bad if done properly, just saying that there's no reason a 3D SF would save Capcom anymore than a new 2D title.

Keep it 2D, at least then the fans will be happy.

it has to be 3D because no one (mainstream) cares about 2D anymore. Capcom could also make a 2D rendition of it to keep the hardcore happy.

I see your point, but I don't think a fighting game, no matter what it is, could save any company IMO. It's all about FPS titles these days, fighters aren't very mainstream anymore. I could be wrong though.

no, the only thing that can save capcom is a new 3d strider game that's as solid and forceful as ninja gaiden, but with insane vertically-stacked levels, precarious platform acrobatics, and that awesome sword that cuts in huge spectral arcs. (what do they call that sword? a "cipher"? or was that just in the nes version?)

...but it's never going to happen.

Actually it was in development for Xbox by the Chaos Legion team before Studio 6 was shut down. Think Shinobi meets Ninja Gaiden.

Actually, Capcom probably should make a large budget 3D Street Fighter, spend about 2, 3 years of intense work on it. I say this because Mortal Kombat went to 3D, and was half decent and sold very well. So one would think, a 3D street fighter that can compete with VF as the best 3D fighter would sell well. Only, that is an extremely tough task, but they should shoot for it. The other 3D street fighters were seemingly low brow affairs, which is why they aren't popular.

i remember a capcom producer mentioning that he wanted to do a strider game on xbox, but i've never heard that it was actually in development. capcom studio 6? were they the chaos legion people or the dino crisis 3 people? in either case, i doubt they could've put together anything worth comparing to shinobi, let alone ninja gaiden.

Studio 6 did Chaos Legion. I think that if they wanted to do a Strider game, it would have to be different than Shinobi or Ninja Gaiden. In all honesty, I would prefer it to be 2D with 3D backgrounds, but that is just me of course.

why the hell is every game coming out becoming a gangbang street fest hip hop load of crap lately?

it makes the cute little bunnies cry. :(

yeah, another 2.5d strider would be nice as well. if you get over its HIDEOS graphics and complete dissimilarity to the first strider, strider 2 is a very good, very arcadey 2d action game. which amply rewards one-credit play and score play. i'd love another one like that.
